Hi folks , just signed up to ask before plunging in and buying . I had a 1968 Sherpa T around 1972 ,I remember it being a very nice ride compared to the British stuff I'd been riding , foolishly sold it . Now I have retired ,I'm looking for another Bultaco but quite fancy an Alpina .I only ever saw articles in American Dirt Bike mags ,never saw one in the flesh but always hankered after one . As I understand it , Alpinas up to 75 are basically Sherpa Ts but with closer ratio gearboxes ,something that would suit my end use of unhurried trial riding . Hi I've recently fitted a Mikuni VM26 to my 1979 Sherpa 250 , unfortunately it appears to be run a tad rich. Its running a 35 pilot jet and a 130 main, I've worked the circlip on the needle all the way to the top notch and althought its now running a lot better its still rich and requires very little choke. What jet sizes are being used by anyone else with a Vm26 on a 250?

Im new to the forum. Before I take it apart I thought I’d see if anyone had any ideas. The photo of the gas tank mounting bolt shows the tank is off the frame quite a bit and the header is still in contact with tank. Any ideas where to start?

Evening all. I'm just trying to sort out my aluminium sherpa fuel tank and wonder where I can get some decals for it. I see inmotion do sticker but they won't be any good because after its painted I'd like to lacquer over the decal. so can anyone help? Many thanks

New to me Bultaco. I just registered it with a Bill of Sale (title was lost) and now I’m ready to buy some parts for it. I was under the impression it was a ‘73 Pursang 250 so I was looking up the model number and found that my frame I believe coincides with a 125cc model. The PO did the restore on it (replaced seals and gaskets and the ring, didn’t replace piston) and clearly knew what he was doing so I’m assuming the engine had been swapped for a 250 at some point, but how can I tell? Hi. Brand new member (and brand new to dirt). Just acquired a '73 Pursang with newly painted tank/side panels. I have another set of panels but I'd really like another tank, any tank, to swap on the bike before I destroy the one on there now. Any suggestions (other than finding another, old beaten up Pursang tank - I'm looking now) for a tank that I can adapt to this frame with little modifications? Many thanks. bultaco.pdf

Just aquired a fairly nice 1975/76 350 sherpa t (159)that has been sitting for at least 10 years. Tonight I disassembled the stock bing carb and it is worn out. The VM28 Mikuni is cheap and is an excellent replacement from what information I have been able to find. Hard to go wrong with a mikuni. Like to know if anyone has the jetting specs for the VM28 for my bike and any other pros and cons concerning this swap. Thanks in advance,cheers,Jim

Looking for help on a replacement flywheel for a 1966 MK2 Matador 250, the bike came to me in parts... crates of them, picked from the original 'restorer'. The flywheel in the pile is a FEMSA VAR 41-9 that is cracked at the rivets & has at least 3/16" rotational play. Anyone know what FEMSA part number flywheel should be on this bike? Suspect the VAR 41-9 may be another model, as I have a mod 26 in the pile of parts!

Just received the correct tank for my 116 , hasn’t had fuel in for a long time and I need to line the inside . I’m thinking of using caswell . A few people have suggested rattling screws about to key the glass fibre , I’m ok with that but not sure what to use to get the inside grease free , I imagine the rough glassfibre interior will be oily from the petroil mix , long since evaporated . Any suggestions ?

Hello chaps I'm new to the forum, so please bear with me if my request has been done before! I'm just getting back into the sport after a 20 odd year rest, hoping to do some twin shock trials and dual sport events on a 1978 Bultaco Sherpa T model 199a. What I'm after is some history on the Bultaco 350/325 sherpas, model years, specs, major change dates etc. Do the vin numbers hold any details of build spec and dates etc.? Are there any useful web sites with model details? I know the much later model 199b was a 6 speed motor an had box section swing arm but don't know much more than that. So finally got the Sherpa T 175 all back together and it struck up after a few kicks. The issue I have is when I acquired the bike it wasn't actually running and as such I have no idea whether the carb or the jets where making for optimum performance. I can obtain new jets of course but I don't have a bench mark to work from. The bike has good compression and has just been re-ringed and has new gaskets. It has an Amal Mk2 concentric 2625 carb on it at present and the symptoms are as follows. Lumpy running and not able to obtain full revs. Its very smoky and currently running using 95 ron and and Castrol semi syn oil at a ratio of 50:1. Its difficult to start especi…

Hi All, Looking to finish the rebuild on my 175cc Bultaco Sherpa T and need some new piston rings. The piston is a MAHLE and is 60.8 in diameter. Measuring the bore a 61mm ring should work but I am struggling to find a UK outlet for such a thing. I have tried the usual In Motion and other specialists but they have nothing listed. Also as it has been a while since the strip down could anyone please remind me the correct orientation of the piston. From memory the longer skirt on the piston goes to the inlet side but any confirmation would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any help.

Good morning. I have a Bultaco Alpina model 213 and would like to fit electronic ignition. Having had a bad experience with Electrex I am looking for an alternative. I emailed Vape and they quoted two prices and when I queried it they stopped answering my emails. I understand that PVL (?) do an ignition but the only place I can find that sells is EBay. has anyone experience with this, recommend a supplier, have any ideas on prices for a unit with lighting coils?
