hi guys does anybody know where i can get the front sprocket seal for my 199A? ive tryed the ones bultaco uk sell and its still leaking. any ideas where to get the seal with the metal clad round the ruber? i found one in a tin of engin parts i have ive put it in seems to be a much tighter fit than the all ruber ones wont know till ive put the clutch back on and start her up to see if shes leaking. ive turned the back weel round now before oil used to drip out dosant seem to be doing it with the metel seal so any help would be great

Another dumb question Finally got the bike done and it started right up, I was shocked! I now have the newest Sherpa on the planet! While opening the petcock I noticed it has three positions, and I did not pay attention when rebuilding it, but I assuming up and down is open, but which way is closed and which way is reserve ?

Bought the electronic ignition for my 199B, last year 350 and noticed the it needs a spark plug that has the threads on top instead of the modern style plug for the boot to fit, I am using an NGK BPR4ES. Is there a plug that will work with this boot or do I need to convert the boot?

I'm almost finished restoring my Sherpa T 250 circa 1966. New rims, new tyres, new spokes. Just had new brass bushings put in the brake plate. New shoes, new cable inner and outer. Brake arm works fine, shoes contact the inside of the drum fine. However, with the brake lever fully pulled I can still roll the bike forwards. Oddly it locks up the wheel if I pull the bike back, but forwards no chance. Stopping would be nice before I attempt to ride the bike. Has anyone some suggestions to what I can do next to make it work ?

Do most Alpina Model 85 riders use the stock electrical system or toss it for a total loss battery system?

I am restoring a Model #138 and am searching for an exhaust system for this bike. I am most interested in finding the the header pipe, as I can source the intermediate and the final piece from InMotion or other vendors. If anyone can assist I would be very grateful.

Hey folks. I have a model 84 lobito 175 that I'm rebuilding. The engine was seized from water intrusion and the crank and rod are in terrible shape. The rod will barely even move on the crank. Do any of you know if there is an interchangeable crank and rod that I can use? Thanks

Hello The bike, the first target is to start the engine with a clean carburetor / exhaust and of course wheels (Tires/ spokes). I will manage to have a Vermont registration : its's means lights, horn with probably a new ignition with 12 volts supply. A long way to go 😪

Does anyone know the ratio of the AVIS-VDO speedometer drive used on the Model 85 Alpina?

When I was 15 my father bought a brand new Bultaco Sherpa, needless to say I spent more time on it than he did due to his work commitments. I loved it, super reliable and great to ride. Come forward 40 odd yrs and this (what I thought was a Sherpa) came up for sale locally at a reasonable price. it's all there, yes needs some work and a restore/rebuild but it doesn't look too bad. After checking the engine and frame number it seems it's an early Alpina M-8500619 and 9700356. I have had a quick search and it seem that these early Alpinas are basically a Sherpa with slightly different gear ratios. So here are my questions, I know this is the place to ask. Does it look…

Can someone please tell me how many ohms the brake light resistor has as used on the Model 85 and similar? Would someone who has such a bike be willing to measure the resistance? Thanks.

Back in the day my Sherpa 198A had what I believed to be an aftermarket one piece kick start lever that swivelled from the bottom rather than the top, it also hugged the cylinder head closer than the original type. From what I remember it had Bultaco stamped on it Does anyone know who made it ? and if they are still available?

Hi I'm new to this so apologies if the answer has already been posted. I have acquired a part rebuilt Alpina. I think it may be an American market model that's found it's way to the UK. Frame engine number B - 8503578 I think this came with a high and#39; motor cross' style mounted fender, can anyone help confirm please? I'm always interested in the way Bultaco changed things on some models without changing the model number. The model numbers that had the most changes are the most interesting to me. I have a fair handle on the changes through model 49 and through model 91/92 but not the others. I'm rebuilding a model 85 at the moment so am particularly interested in knowing at what production numbers the model 85 changes happened? I'm most interested in when the footpeg mounts became welded on, the swingarm pivot nuts were recessed into the frame, the steering security lock was fitted, the chain tensioner became rearward-facing and the chain oiler was incorporated. I'm new with my Bultaco Lobito (bought as a Sherpa but that's another story!) So far I haven't been able to find much information on the bike... and if I could it would be in Spanish, which isn't very helpful. What bike is the Lobito anyway? I read that it was intended for youngsters who are too big for small bikes, but even that basic information was hard to find...it doesn't really look or feel "small"...any clues are helpful. Hello. I’m in France (sorry for my bad english) and I’m almost ready to restart this 188 Alpina. I still have to repair the seat that have a bracket tear off and would like it don't do it again. How this saddle is supported is unclear to me. My understanding is that the seat rests on the frame at the areas I have surrounded in black. The brackets (one missing) that I have surrounded in red are only to avoid the seat to lift up and are not loaded by the weight. Is that the way it works? Furthermore, I think (this is quite clear) the forks of the saddle (surrounded in blue) should be under the frame cross plate. My Bultaco specialist told me the sea…
