Hello all, Please excuse my "butchery" but I managed to simply remove the splined bush off the crankshaft by turning an aluminium dolly to fit inside and then gently heating up the bush with a plumbers blowtorch and then hitting dolly to remove. Looked online and there's all sorts of special tools but this work a treat.

Not my OSSA MAr, but my friends. The bike he bought a while back, advertised as restored needing nothing has been one hack after another. To late to complain to the guy, and the seller was not honest in how he described and displayed the motorcycle. It was a long distance sale, so between emails, phone calls and videos, the bike was bought and shipped. Suffice to say the seller, that did the work should not handle tools and has no real regard for quality. Along with many issues, the most recent occurred last week. While getting the jetting dialed in, the engine lost power and began rattling. My first comment when told about this on the phone was he seized i…

Went to see a nice looking, clean 1976 Ossa tonight with the intention to buy. On first sight, looked better than the pictures, eventually fired up, sounded fine, revved well, engine sounded good, however......had three issues... 1) Despite sounding good had next to feck all drive ?? Like no matter what, it hardly went at all, chap said I might be in the wrong gear 2) Front forks were almost solid, like hardly any movement in them at all ?? 3) Brakes were almost non exsistent ? Now I have no idea about older bikes, but I did expect them to have a bit of go, but anyone care to offer a theory or two for issues 1 and 2 ? as I was already warned about Ossa brakes being …

I made the jump from Gas Gas to Ossa about a month ago now and I have to say I am finding the new bike pretty good. One local trial here on the Isle of Man which went well then the big test was the Reeth a week later. Having an unplanned trip to Broughton to replace a selector shaft after the first day wasn't ideal but it worked perfectly for the last 2 days so i have to say a big THANK YOU to Nigel Birkett for the brilliant service he provided (He had to put down a beer). It was second to none. It hasn't missed a beat since. The Ossa is such a nice ride, the suspension, the engine, everything about it is spot on. The torque from the engine in the low rev range is super…

As The topic says, I want too fit a long life chain to the Ossa, as I am in sand, mud and dust a lot. I am told the chain is wider by a little but uncertain as to how much and whether it will round the drive sprocket. I know I have to increase the size of the chain tensioner cage. Any clues?

Hi, Last year I picked up a cheap 250MAR 1974/5 and promptly fell off first time out due to my own incompetence. I'm fairly new to trials but the Ossa definately did not react the same way as my Beta Rev3 when I went up a gentle bank. The result was much pain, blood, 8 stitches, more pain, then a very nasty hospital infection with lots more pain... and it also put me off work for 75 days....did I mention the pain? Anyway I'm all healed now so back to the question. Looking at the bike it appears to have been modified with shorter rear shocks fitted than standard, I hear this was a modification and standard on later bikes but I'd like to get it back to somewhere near o…
