Hi All, I've just picked up a MK2 MAR to add to my stable. There are a couple of interesting features which it would be nice to know the history of. My intention is to trial it and maybe one day restore it. The previous owner has had it for 30 years and has not done any of the mods, its as it was when he acquired it in 84. The cylinder fins have been slotted to take a rubber strip, maybe to reduce noise or vibration. I've never seen this on a MAR before. Anyone seen this before? Other mods include: It has an alloy middle exhaust which looks like a modified aftermarket tailpipe, it has a Colin Appleyard sticker on it. AND...no tailpipe. The swingarm looks to be Mk2…

Hi again. Got part throttle fluffyness on 75 MAR250. Amal carb. Had it apart, done all needle heights, all possible air screw combinations, never right. Air screw fully in gives nice no throttle type torque. At full throttle all OK, just on part futtt splutter. Never stalls, always starts first time. No air leaks, although compression when kick starting seems a little easy. 50 to 1 synthetic. Thinking of a Mikuni carb from Inmotion. Any input appreciated. Thanks

After almost 2 1/2 years rebuilding my '75 mar I'm almost nearing completion!! The spark plug in the bike is a Champion RN7YC and a NGK 6 ES came as a spare. What is the recommended (best) plug to put in? Now for the really stupid question.....how many gears should there be? I'm more used to jap and Brit bikes, well that's my excuse! Oh, and which way do they shift, 1st up or down? Cheers in advance.

A friend has imported one of these and there's a chance I might be able to pick it up from him. My riding buddy says the red 303 is a late effort hodge podge of parts and that the transmission is a time bomb. I know very little about these bikes. Is the bike a museum piece? If the tranny is fragile, are there options?

Hey guys, I just recently got my first trials, a 2013 TR280i. The previous owner rigged up a start assist with a 9v battery and when I went to swap for a new battery a few of the wires came apart. I am clueless when it comes to electronics so I have no idea where to even start re wiring. I tried it a couple ways and has had no luck, and now the start assist isn’t working, nor is my fan turning on. If anybody could help me figure this out it would be much appreciated.

On the OSSA MAR / TR77 brake pedal cross shaft where the chain tensioner pivots a pin is required, should this be a roll pin or something else maybe with a head to secure the chain tensioner spring? Can the rear brake pedal be installed and removed with the engine in the frame. Never having previously owned an OSSA and starting with a basically good but partially dismantled bike the reassembly raises a few questions so any assembly hints and tips you have will be welcome. Thank you all.

Right now to shift into first with the clutch lever pulled, it sort of snaps into gear. Here are my questions: I read where it says that I should have 1/16 inch of play at the clutch lever on the case. I have 1/8 inch. Should I adjust this down to 1/16 inch? If so, how do I keep the clutch from turning while I loosen the clutch adjusting nut. Also, how much play should I have at the clutch lever? If I have the correct play at the lever on the case, is this the play that I should have at the hand lever? Also, my idle might be a little high. So, is my current 1/8 inch OK and I just need to get the idle down? Thanks for any help on this.

Hi there guys, just wondered if anybody has succeeded in getting a "duel map" installation installed on there "standard" bikes,I know the "Factory Edition" has this function and so did the last years "SSDT Model". I see Bob at Ossa Canada has mentioned he now has the "Duel Map Switch" available, I assume just running the latest Map-13 does still not let you access this function even once the "Duel Map Switch" is installed. Anybody know the correct Map Number or File Name of the "Duel Map" ? Also I have been trying to find a flywheel puller for the TR 280i,has anyone seen these for sale anywhere?

A riding partner of mine has acquired a pristine condition 250 Gripper and it appears to be near museum quality. Lucky him! He's unsure about a couple of things, however. He wants the bike to be as close to original as possible. He's seen photos of 81 250's with either orange or unpainted bars. Same for the chain guard. Both his bars and guard are unpainted. Did a mid year production switch happen? Also. the stock shocks are Telesco brand. Are those stock and are they rebuildable? Thanks for any advice, info, or guidance.

Hi all - I am going to replace my old Amal on my '72 mk1 MAR and wondered if anyone could advise on the best make and settings. The current carb is a flange fitting 26mm. Look forward to any feedback. Thanks

Hi again Re the Ossa clutch - how far down should the springs go, and what do you use in the holes in the end of the threaded adjuster pegs? Is just wiring them up OK? Also, what is this bit? I'm guessing from the bolt length it fits on the timing cover casing - the top bolt by the clutch arm? If so, why? If not - where and why? This has got me puzzled I must say. Thanks Adrian

2015 Explorer. I’ve seen several Explorers that had the rear fender mount areas broken- there the huge handrail is mounted. I take those off anyway, since they get in the way when getting weight wayback. So I designed some bushings that will fill the broken sections and press against good part of the fender. This allows easy firm mounting of fender without grabrail, especially if the parts are broken.

I'm restoring a TR77 from a box of bits and after cleaning up the crankcases I found cracks on both sides where the cylinder studs go in. Is this a common problem or have the studs been tightened up by a Gorilla with a 10 foot long wrench? Work to do :-(
