  1. Any idea on how to pull the headlight out. Looks like 2 clips on each side and it'll slide out, but am concerned with snapping the clips and obviously never finding a replacement. Any hints, tips or tricks? When changing my AAA battery behind the headlight in that black box, I inadvertently pulled a little too hard, and the tiny little frail wires that connect the headlight pulled loose. Need to get in there with a soldering iron.

Some of you may enjoy following the below linked thread on Grassroots Motorsport in the US by a guy doing vintage flat track on a Phantom. About page three he shows the port timings for the MAR and Phantom and also describes removing the cylinder sleeve to get back to a smaller piston. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/cat-quick-and-tiger-tough-burrito-goes-wheel-to-wh/144587/page1/ cheers Richard

Hi fairly new to this forum, i have just started trialing a 1974 Ossa 250 mar, and i have a few mods i would like to do so any advice regarding these mods would be much appreciated. Firstly, front suspension seems very soft, and and appear to creak a bit when riding, forks are mainly compressed when riding and dont seem to have much travel, i have put heavier weight oil in but it doesnt seem to have made much difference! i am 6'3" tall and a bit on the heavy side, at present the bars seem a bit low(renthal 3"rise) which puts all my weight over the front end, i have ordered some 6" rise renthals so this might help and then will posibly add some bar risers to get me more…

Hi All, Just starting a resto' of a 350 Explorer. Mostly complete, engine on the bench, just missing the long travel seat if anyone knows where I can get one? Does anyone know the proper frame colour on these. As you can see from photos it obviously been sprayed in the past but there are 2 colours, black and a dark silver. I have seen them in various shots/brochures with a black frame as well as silver as the MAR. So can anyone help, were they black or silver. Thanks in anticipation for your help and any advice

Can anyone give me some sort of idea what kind of run time / mileage I can expect while trail riding on a TR280i? I've seen a few people mention running out of fuel and I'm a bit paranoid re-fueling at every opportunity but am thinking of doing a longer ride we normally do on the Enduro bikes and worried about the fuel situation.

Hi, I have a 2012 TR280i bought used last year. The bike ran very good and started in the 1st or 2nd kick every time until recently. We were riding in our regular spot and after a big rev the motor died. We thought it ran out of gas but after topping it off (it did take a full tank so maybe it did run out) it would not start. It's getting spark and the fuel pump is working as it will spit out gas from the fuel line when kicked. i figure the next thing to check is the injector but it seems to be impossible to get to with our removing the tank and radiator. I say this because the ECU is wedged in between the frame and injector and there seems to be no way to get …

Apparently a new Ossa will be shown at the Milan show on the 10th of November. Called the 280TRI its not known if its two stroke or four stroke, and there is speculation that the I might stand for injection.

From the backgound of enduro and loads of oilchanges I thougt that a simple fork oilservice would be a pice of cake, but no! Read some helpful information but not realy a complete explination. So, went for the classic counted the clicks to max, back to fully release pressure at minus and then loosen the cap. (Drained the oil from the lowest bolt first). Did all the refilling and air bleeding but when mounting the cap, with the unusal rod stuck to the cap this drives the rod to bottom?!! Leaving no chance of changing the clicks? Do I have to mount cap/rod at max + so that I later can loosen the compression nut to right set of clicks? And what is the standard set of c…

Hi folks, currently stripping my 250 gripper engine.. quick question about removing the crank, there appears to be a washer needing removed in order to pull the crank from the case.. does this simply pull off as it seems quite tight, hope this makes sense? Pic attached of said washer. Cheers John.

Well, for anyone interested, I have made considerable progress. I did get my bash plate / bolt up issue solved, at least until I bash it but for now seems to be goot-n-tight and as I mentioned in my previous post, I did put som neoprene rubber between the plate and engine cases to act as a vibration damper. Now there was one other thing I did but, not going to get into that on the grounds this it my make me look pretty stupid. At any rate after the addition of the neoprene the thing runs/sounds like a Rolex! It is so quite and smooth. I have to admit that I was astonished. It had been SO LOUD and buzzy before, easily give my CZ a run racket wise. Now it just purrs. So, …

It's for the earlier OSSA fuel-injected models that tend to be hard to start. Since the original thread is 24 pages and very hard to follow and confusing OSSAs own easy-start mod with various DIY mods or tweaks, here I'll put down a simple DIY mod into a single thread: You need: - 9V battery - 9V battery holder or connector - switch (or even better if a Yamaha-type kill-switch) - little bit of light wiring (some 5-10 inches total or a little more if you route to handlebar killswitch) - some longer straps to fix the battery (and for the switch if you don't use kill-switch) And a mandatory very important note to any DIY mod: DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! (and ma…
