Gaerne Boots are popular and for good reason. Very comfortable. One thing is the soles do tend to get chewed up, at least mine did. I posted about the soles while back. I bought some Shoe Goo, and I have been pleasantly surprised at how well it fills in the deep ruts left by the pegs. I grabbed a tube of it and filled in the divots. Let it settle in for 48 hours before riding and it helps to have a plastic disposable knife or similar to smooth it out a bit before it hardens up. Lasted awhile and cheap. Just thought I'd pass it on.

Hello, I have finally destroyed the sidi couriers that I was using, so time for my first 'proper' trials boots. The forma boulders look a good boot - any views on this boot, and is the sizing accurate? ..... loathe to buy boots off the internet and they don't fit. thank you Andrew

Anyone know what forma boots like at breaking in and stretching? Bought a 43 & 44 in the boulders and don’t know if I need to break one pair or wear thicker socks for the other… one’s a bit big and the other a bit tight round the instep, my feet appear to be half a size in between. 😐

Last week's printed edition of TMX. There's a rider (OK not trials) on the front cover and I did a double-take. Wonder if the editor noticed this before publication? Looks like the rider is covered in it anyway...

  15. I'm new to trials. I need a new tube for my front wheel. On my enduro bikes, I run Heavy Duty. What do most folks run on trials bikes? my guess is that since everything on a trials bike is light, that folks don't use the heavier tubes. Is this right?

im sick of splashing petrol around from a cheap can like a chump, and was wondering if there is a decent product out there that suits trials bikes. I know the enduro/mx crowd are pretty well covered in this respect So, im wondering what everyone else uses, perhaps there's a particularly good fuel can out there?

hi folks.... ive read a few threads debating the use of full face lids and as i can gather, the general majority of riders prefer the standard open face trials helmet for obvious reasons of visibilty and movement.... im new to trials and can agree with them issues, but ive just been watching some vid's on youtube and seen some bloody horrendous crashes that did make me think..... i saw a vid with adam raga which looked just bloody horrible !!!allthough im not attempting anything like the riding mr raga pulls off im sure my falling off skills could give him a run for his money.....hahaha... anyway i probably wont, but it did make me think weather or not i should wea…

  18. Met a USAF forces guy, Sean from Ohio, this week whom works at the local airbase. I meet a few US forces guys through my job, always really friendly and interesting, great customers & a pleasure to deal with. I used to visit the US in my old job and owning lots of yank cars seems to break the ice quickly for both of us. Sean has a Montesa 4RT & a Honda TLR twinshock, been riding over 20 years and competes as an A Class rider, so I'm guessing he's a far better rider than me & better qualified to comment on trials He was all over my SWM TL320 (and gixsers) like a rash and we spoke twinshock trials and old bikes for a while over a cup of tea. He rode the…

Does anyone know how the sizes come up on the Gaerne boots? with Sidis (at least with the road boots) you have to buy a size up as they are stupidly small. But not sure with these if they come up small or large compared to other boots?

  20. Any special "treatments" for a new pair of these? Someone suggested to get them soaking wet and then wear them around until they're dry. But I'm reluctant to do that to a pair of $310 boots. And any suggestions on maintenance, mink oil, neats foot, etc.? David
