If your close to warrington cheshire Princess St Garage easily found on google or yell. Just the one guy does the bike mot's and understands what we use them for. No drama MOT very stress free. Of course bike was mechanically perfect but no dramas with no lights etc. Just a battery powered mega horn and a large number plate. Dont forget the little reflector needed on the number plate, a i would recommend wizzing off the "not for road use" if its on your tyres. Simple

I need to renew my insurance for my road registered Beta Evo 250 2T. I was with Bennetts for my Beta Techno 250 but apparently they cannot get me insurance for my Evo. Who do you use? Any recommendations? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, I just wondered if anyone has seperate insurance for their bike while in transport, i.e on a rack or trailer. I'm pretty sure that my car insurance won't cover it and at the moment I've not been too worried as my bike is only worth sub £1000 but I'm thinking about purchasing something a bit newer and more expensive and would like it covered? Cheers, Gary.

Hi, I have a 1972 Bultaco Alpina 250 nearing completion of restoration. It was imported to the UK from the USA about 4 years ago ( it's original export destination from Spain). I have matching engine and frame numbers. I will shortly be going through the process of getting it road registered and i understand if I can show to DVLA evidence of the original age corroborated by the manufacturer or an established owners club, i can get it registered with a 1972 number plate. Can anyone please help point me in the right direction of finding a source that can help ? thanks

Can anyone recommend an insurance policy for my kids bikes? The bikes are not road legal or registered and never will be. The kids haven't passed any tests nor do they have a no claims bonus, they're 13 & 8. The bikes won't be going anywhere near a road except on the trailer. We just need them insuring in case of theft from storage. All the policies that I've looked at so far require the bikes to be road registered or SORNed and/or the rider to have a licence. The bikes are a Rev3 125 and a GG TXT70. Any help gratefully received, I feel like I'm on borrowed time without it and did lose a couple of bikes a while back and the missus is still giving me earache about…

I need a dating certificate in order to register my OSSA MAR. I'm aware of the DVLA procedure which I have been through before - at some point I will need to produce a document to verify the production date. Given that OSSA don't exist I'm at a loss where to go for the certificate. Has anyone on the forum had any useful recent experience ? Thanks.

Well the old girl has been a bit neglected for a while so it's time to give her a bit of attention. I'm gearing up to get the Sherco road worthy. Don't worry, no "what do I need for an MOT?" questions coming up. All I am trying to find out is with the new road fund licence rules, do you still need to display a tax disc on a motorbike? I understand why there is no need for a car due to numberplate recognition via the fancy cameras, just wondered if the same applies to motorbikes? Ta very much, Chris.

Am thinking of getting a 125cc trails bike gas gas or a beta. The plan is for it to be road legal as I can ride on road to a spots to use it. Questions I have: A. What speed would a typical 125 be able to reach and sustain? B. How much damage would be caused to a engine, by using it on road? C. Would there be any gearing changes I could make, to make the bike a bit more road friendly. If I got a beta I would be after getting the long range tank and seat setup. Is there anything like that for a gas gas? I know I have asked a lot of questions, I've been trawling the Internet for the last few days and can't find the information I was looking for. I hope I have poste…

I just started the process of registering my old TXT. It was a bit of a faff getting help from Gas Gas in Austria and a lot of time was wasted so thought I'd put what I learned on here to help others. It transpires the older Gas Gas machines were imported by John Shirt Motorcycles in Buxton. https://johnshirtmotorcycles.com/ A quick call to them and I was met with the friendliest pair of ladies I've ever spoken to. She gave me all the history they have of my two bikes and for the princely sum of £50, she is happily providing the dating certificate and carrying out all the HMRC NOVA work on my behalf. It's just a case of MOT, wait for the paperwork from John Shirt then sen…
