Four-Stroke

I have a fabulous Cub that had a Montesa conical hub rear wheel in it which worked very well and polished up nicely almost matching the REH in the front. I have since sourced a REH rear and sold on the Montesa rear wheel. I am having a clear out in the garage and found a 66T 420 pitch Talon sprocket I had made for the Montesa rear wheel. If anyone is using a similar wheel and would like this sprocket it is free of charge as long as you collect or cover the postage. The sprocket number is TR232.

Hello, afther a 2017 Beta 250 factory 2 stroke i bought a 2017 montesa repsol 260 becouse i love the look off the bike. Yesterday first day at the montesa and i must say it was hard to ride. I will give it a while but when changing back to my beta 250 it felt super light and super responsive. Zapping over a log, turning, hopping,....have to learn all on the montsa or....stay with the beta. Greathings, Luc

Hi, new rider looking to purchase first trials bike since 1983 and am thinking about a new beta 300 and wondering how many things I can do to soften it even more to enable me to learn without feeling the bike is dragging me along. Narrowed down to Beta 300 or Montesa 260. I will also be purchasing the additional seat so I can use it as a general trail bike. other than a slow throttle and fly wheel are there other things I can do? Initially I’d like it very dumbed down. In an ideal world I’d simply buy a beta 200 but I would like to have the option to ride trails 55 year old with zero bike riding since 2000 and very poor bikes handling skills

First thing I did was take the kill switch off, nothing...not even a pop. There's no spark at the plug. Tried new plug and cleaning earth and connections on coil...nothing. I had done one lap of sections, refilled fuel, couple more sections completed. then stopped to walk a section and would not start...not a pop. Not found anything on a search, I guess they usually don't go wrong much. Is there anything that commonly goes wrong wrong on older bikes? mine is the first 05 model.

Hi have a JDM Honda TLR250R engine which has been fitted to a special frame. As you know this engine was a Japanese only model so information & spares can be hard to get hold off. Can anyone on the forum help in getting information about this particular engine, engine diagrams, part sheets, wiring diagrams etc?. A source of spares, address/Tel number/ email would be also be most welcome.

I have a 2011 Beta Evo 4T gearing question. I find first ok but second and definitely third way to tall. What do people do, drop one tooth to a 10T on the front sprocket? happy for any input

I can potter around all day on it no bother,as soon as you grab a big piece of throtle it's like you hit the kill switch. Bit reluctant to start but not too bad, five or six kicks from cold after i'd had the fuel pump out looking for crap, and three kicks when hot. I've give it a basic service recently as I thought it was going down hill a bit. I've put the old air filter back in to check that the new one isn't restrictive,still no joy. No crap in the tank really, just a bit of slight dust. The bike is an 05 and I got a spare throtle body with box of bits that came with the bike,so guess it's had a new one at some point. 200cc 4stroke....cool for a first trials bike...

Just wondering if any other Sherco 4t's have experienced this problem. When first adjusting the valves I discovered loose clearances in all four valves. Didn't think too much of it and shimmed to correct clearences. Several months later when checking them the intakes were fine but a lot of clearance in the exhaust valves. I Found the roller on the rocker arm that rides on the cam to push the valves is loose and turns but also moves up and down on the pin that holds it in place. The continued wearing is opening the exhaust valve clearance. The intake side is normal and rolls without problems as it should be. Has anyone else experienced this with their Sherco 4t or is…

Evening all. Got my 4rt on it's side and it filter out. Her indoors went to the local road bike shop and picked up a litre of oil. She came back with silkolene gear oil light sae 75. On the back it says gear oil for wet or dry clutch transmissions. Crankcase rating sae 10W/40. Is this right. Chap in shop said it was the right stuff?????

Hi i was up at a local big trial and i seen a 2015 beta 300 4t what is the price of parts on beta, iwas told they where expensive is this true i have heard they are better than the montesa 4rt 260 cota. Could you give me your opinion.

the other day i went out a spin on my bike im only a learner - anyway a went straight into a ditch an came off it when a looked at the bike there was little oil coming out the gearbox, could this be a crack in the seal or something?

Hi Chaps, I have a twin shock Bultaco 199b that I have totally restored, my son and I have practiced on it most days (lack of work) and a lot of enthusiasm as we are new to this world. From the start, my son is very good so I thought I would upgrade to a newer bike. I would love a four stroke, can you guys give me advice? Will this work for my son and me to have fun on? Dewsbury Its happened to me once before. Id accepted a career promotion (in a previous life) to Carlisle and the only thing I was reasonably sure about was that it was north of where I was working at the time! So why Dewsbury? hi what oil would be fine for a scorpa 175f? i see they recommend motul 300v fully synthetic, but i cannot get this locally. i take it something like shell advance ultra be fine for this engine as it does not work hard anyway, and i can get it locally....better price too. i want to use good oil, but are some of the recommendations overkill? given it not a race bike.... cheers
