  2. I would like to convert the back wheel on my Beamish to tubeless. Has anyone come across a 36 hole tubeless rear rim. Don't mind if its the thick rubber band type that seals the spokes or the later flanged type. New or decent second hand would be fine Thanks

Just a bit of fun at Christmas (I have no connections to this seller) especially as I am so out of touch with the price of these things.

Anybody know where I would get replacement split bushes that wrap round the bottom of the chrome fork slider? RL250/325 air assisted forks. Nothing in manual about them so no part number. Thanks.

Hi all Mu query is not related to a trials bike but I am sure someone out there can help. I have just bought an old 82 model TS 185 to get my young grandson used to riding bikes. The clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced. My problem is that I have undone all screws holding the cover on but it won't budge!!! Something else is preventing me from removing it. Any ideas?? I am sure one of you people have pulled one of these bikes apart before. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

Hi, I recently bought a 1975 Suzuki RL250. It ran but not well. I found that the main jet was plugged. After carefully cleaning it out and blowing it dry with compressed air, I reassembled the carb, gassed it up and it started easily. It runs for a while but looses power in a couple minutes and then stalls. it will not restart until it cools down. Any suggestions as to how to adjust the carb? It has a 130 main jet. I'm running modern synthetic oil at 40:1.

  8. Started by diagnosis,

I’ve recently picked up another project, a 1975 Suzuki RL250 Exacta, which seems to run well, but is in need of some cosmetic work, and some routine maintenance done, such as brake cables and chain/sprockets replaced. The intention is to give it to my Father once it’s sorted, so we can ride together, but want to make sure it’s sound before he gets on. One question that seems to be eluding me is an aftermarket sprocket. I’ve seen the Talon kits available on eBay, and it seems that RL250.com and Beamish Owners Club offers kits as well, but was wondering what other Suzuki models share the same rear sprocket bolt pattern, as well as alternatives for the front sprocket? …

Hey people, Im having trouble getting my beamish suzuki 1981 bike working. i don't really know what is wrong with it, i have tried the cdi unit for the spark, i have put fresh petrol in and i have checked everything else that i thought might be the problem, and it still will not start. There is one thing i was not sure about, that is the clutch plate. When i took the casing off, oil came out and at the time i thought this was the problem and oil is not meant to be in there. so i blocked it up where i believe he oil was coming throught, and now it still does not work. i know some bikes clutch plates are dry and some are not, so i was wondering is the beamish suzuki 1981…

Hello , I have a Beamish 250 {silver engine, aprox. 1976} .The Front forks are too soft , {a lot of sag & bottom out easy}. I am 82kg so may be bit heavier than average but i still dont think they are correct The fork springs are full length with no spacer under the cap , I have seen a parts book for a RL250 which shows a shorter spring with a spacer about 100-125mm long at the top under the cap. Does anybody know the correct lengths for the spring and spacer so that i can try and find the correct parts ? Alternatively could anybody recommend differant springs to use or a supplier to ask ? thanks dave

Hi Guys, My Dad has his new toy - a nice 1981 RL325 Beamish. It currently runs an RL250 tank, and while it looks nice, its just not right. Is there anyone out there who has or makes the larger RL3235 Alloy tank. cheers, Ben

Thought I would treat myself seeing as my Swingarm are needs new bushes and a re-chrome. so I asked AJG twinshock Specials in the Netherlands to build me one. It arrived Monday, really well packaged and came with everything you need. weighs in at just 1.6kg, stock is over 4.6kg, also about an inch longer. Really pleased with it, should be on the bike sometime this week when I get time.

Hi All, I several years ago I recondition my 1975 RL250 Exacta. I didn't get into the engine as it had always started 1st or 2nd kick and seemed to run just fine. Well it is getting noticeably tired and I believe my next project after I get my son's 1977 Yamaha TY250 done will be taking a closer look at the engine. Right now it still starts fine until it gets warmed up and then it not only starts hard but there is no low end whatso ever. I am thinking I definitely need at least to do a top end, bore, new piston and rings and crank seals. That's what I did on the TY without any problems, I figure that will be the least I have to do. I am the original and sole owner, and …

  17. Hi everyone I'm new to the site and I just rescued a 1974 RL 250 from a old motorcycle wrecking yard here in Washington state. A little back story the very first dirt bike I bought from a dealer ship was a 1974 RL 250 Exacta that the owner of the Suzuki dealership turned it into a enduro for enduro racing the things he changed were the Tank to a TM tank and put a TM seat on it and he also Put Knobby tires instead of the trials tires. It was a great bike i could do anything and go anywhere on that bike I will try to up load some photos of my old RL 250. anyway back to the wrecking yard rescue I happened into this wrecking yard looking for parts for my buddy that is buil…

  18. While reassembling my motor there were 2 thrust washers, fairly thick, on the mag side of the crank. Between the crank and the crank bearing. I cannot locate any referance in the parts manuals : http://www.beamishownersclub.com/pdf/BEWMall.pdf and did not take photos during diasassebly, which was now a couple of years ago It seems to place the crank off center but I bagged each assembly as I removed it so all parts should be in there original location and order. Before tightening down the case screws I was hoping for confirmation this was the correct order Thanks

Hi. My mate has recently restored a DR400S, he has rebuilt everything and it is pretty much n mint condition. He's offering to sell it to me. I've been trying to judge value, but there don't seem to be any restored ones for sale for me to guide a price. He's not going to make any money for the 300 hours he has worked on it, just wants his costs back so he can buy something else to restore... Any one got some idea of a price guide, I've searched the internet but i've been unable to find anything. Thanks.. Gary
