Is there any official word in how Honda/Montesa is achieving the "Less Engine Braking Effect" in the 2014? Is it by the cam's, electronically, a valve, etc?

Currently riding a Sherco 290 2012 the last of the stop machines.I ride at clubman level, down south, to be honest I find it can be bit of an handful i.e. gets away from me in the technical stuff , I have had a quick go on a 2016 4RT, it is heavier especially the front end although I found the power delivery very linear and precise which was great but I'm just wondering how big a learning curve it will be to change to a 4 stroke ?

Hi all privileged 4RT owners! :0) I have an 06 4RT (Repsol) which I bought about 14 months ago to see if I took to 4 strokes; I did and love it. I compete most weekends and the bike is rarely ridden between trials due to work etc and the poor machine is maintained to within an inch of it's life. I enjoy working on bikes as much as I enjoy riding them and the Montesa is an absolute pleasure to fettle with. My last trial was 2 weeks ago and towards the end of the last lap I noticed a noise, which had manifested the previous weekend, which was becoming "noticeable". Hi, has anyone tried fitting a 4 ride seat, tank & rear mudguard onto a 4rt? From pictures it looks like it would be straight forward but perhaps not cheap?

Hi guys, one for you tech experts. I have the twin map PTB on my 300rr and wanted to play around with some maps, the software I have is the HRC RTL 260F, does anyone know if this is correct for the job and if not, which one is right and where to get it? How does mapping work, altering settings for different terrain. I have been told you can bluetooth message to bike to change it. Surely this is Bull****. Can someone explain how injection system works.

Hello, Are there companies making a racing wire loom? I know future used to make a very minimalistic wire loom for 4rt's but they are no longer doing that ? What can be taken off the bike ? i have seen some monts where a lot of those rubber tubes and catch tank and other stuff have been taken off so you get some space to work on the engine . OK, Montesa guys. My front end is a little cobbled together, but I just got this thing going for the first time in MANY years, and I'm psyched to ride. Needless to say, the front brake will never be like the Sherco I sold last year, but what can I really expect from the front brake? Right now it seems like a joke. Won't lock at any speed except maybe on ice. I've even got it adjusted so it drags a bit just so I can be sure all my cable/lever motion is doing something. Any tricks to adjusting/tweaking these? Should the backing plate float a little so it centers? I think I see why folks put a compression release on these things!

Has it been confirmed yet that Honda UK is going to be importing the 2014 4RT into the UK? As for the USA & Canada do we know yet who is importing them? Will they be sold out of regular Honda dealers in these three countries? Has anybody ordered one yet? Sorry for all the questions, but somebody had to ask them LOL

So I've managed to split the intake spacer between the carb and cylnder block. Does anyone know where I could purchase one? Alternatively is there a heat resistant glue that i could use to repair it? Doh, Doh, Doh....

Hi guys new clutch arrived for the 247...one end normal soldered nipple, other end is a solderless screw type end. Venhill cable. Can anyone tell me which end goes where? Thanks

Need some help please guys. Was out today on some hills and bike was fine to start. But as the day went on the bike was reving at the tops of the hills but lacked drive. It got worse and worse as the day went on to the point I had a couple of tumbles as the bike could not make it to the top of the hills. As it’s in all gears I assume it’s the clutch friction plates that have gone? Have taken them out and look to have about 0.5mm on them. Is that worn out or should I be looking at something else . It’s a 2002 315r if that helps and here are some photos. Any advice would be appreciated ?

Hi Guys, My 315r keeps wetting the spark plug when i go to start it, I pulled out the carb and checked to see if the floats where stuck but they seemed free and everything looked fine! the bike had been layed up for a while and was running crap, like reving to the moon on start up and not idling right, to not starting at all!, so last night i changed the carb for another carb i had around the place and the bike started and ran sweet as could be, the best iv ever seen it, then this morning i started it up frist kick without choke and away it went lovely, so i switched it off and got all my gear on and pushed it outside and it wouldnt start? and now thats where …

Anyone know this highest rise trials fat bars, not Apico though. I have S3 World and my brother has Buffalo but to be honest there is little difference. Will Renthal or Tommi be any higher?

:huh:I heard a story this week concerning a 4RT that snapped the internal stop off the kickstart mechanism, resulting in a trashed engine.The story went on to say that the local mechanic suggested a mod to Montesa and was dealt with very sharply. Has anyone got any more on this?

Looking for information about Re-Tuning the ECU on a 4RT 300RR. Where to recommend a company to purchase or send for services. Thanks
