As the title really. I am struggling to find the price of a new 4rt on the continent. With the falling value of the Euro I assume they must be a fare bit cheaper over there. I've tried looking on some foreign eBay sites but I can't find any new 4rt's for sale. I live in the UK by the way.

hy can anyone help i have a 2005 4rt and not been on it for few month now i cant get it to start when i used to go on it it wasnt to good at starting then so i made sure rpm was at 1800 and new spark plug and airfilter but just cant get it to start any ideas regards ste

help please. have just had my 1st serious outing on my 4rt after changing from a rev 3 beta. overall the bike was excellent loads of grunt as expected and would climb anything i pointed it at. the only issue i seemed to have was that the front end was far more difficult to get on line when going downhill and was prone to loosing grip on the front wheel. this was never an issue with my rev 3 . is there any obvious front end adustments that should be made based on this info or is this typical of the handling of the 4rt? i am 6 feet tall and 12.5 stone in weight. other than this the bike was awsome.

Hi, Forgive my ignorance, but how or can you turn down the tick over on my 4rt, it seems to be running too fast, only been out on it twice and to start with it struggled on tick over, i am presuming it was very tight, but ow it seems to be too fast... !st 4 bangere for me and I have not got a clue.. any help is much appreciated. thanks in advance Dougie

Whats the best result for the 4rt so far? Now James Lampkin has chosen the beta to ride rather than the montesa to mind is there anyone any good left on one? Who are Sandifords sponsoring and how did they do at the first national of the year the Vic Britton?

I have a 2010 Gas Gas 250, but starting her has been a problem due to a knee injury. First, it takes a good hard snap. Not so much of a problem, alone, but the kick lever hits the mount of the foot peg at the end of the throw, and being short throw it is hard for me to avoid bottoming out like this as it has to be kicked fast. So, I'm wondering about the 4RT. Does the lever hit against anything hard like this when you push it through? Do you have to give the lever a good hard snap? I would buy one if I knew about this one issue. But no dealer within hours and hours of me has one. Excited to hear replies.

Ok folks, hate asking a question that’s been answered many times before, but I’ve looked back as far as 2016 and can’t find anything current on 348 carbs, so............ Ive just bought an early 348, I know they’re a bit Marmite, but it’s a nostalgia trip. It’s the last bike I rode competitively in about 1978 and I thought it’d be nice to relive my youth, also it’s never a problem adding another one to the collection ? She has the original Amal on at present. By the time I’ve replaced the slide, jets, etc, etc I’m half way to the cost of an Oko or similar. I've been looking through the posts and now i'm a little confused! The bikes a 2002 montesa 315r, the clutch drags on it so how do I sort it, a full set of steel and cork plates or can I put in the correct oil(which is elf? where do I get it!?) and lightly roughen up the steel plates, or is there an aftermarket jobbie that will solve it forever? I'm a novice so the cluch drag is causing more issues than it would most! I just want to sort it but not waste money if it doesn't need to be spent!

Hi. I have just joined trials central as i am just starting to give my old cota a make over. Working from the front back, i have encountered my first problem. I have removed the fork legs. But now i am stuck. I cant work out how to separate the 35mm tube from the lower part of the fork leg. Can any one help with this please? I am sure more help will be needed as the project continues. hi hope someone can help as from my recent posts i have just done a top end rebuild, been on 5 outing and every things been ok when i was out last week the bike started to make knocking noises and the bike started to feels not right at tick over and then started to go in reverse. took the fly wheel cover off and nut the wood ruff key is still there, so checked the rad no water in the bike at all, took out the oil bolt and roughly 10-15ml of water came out first and the oil was all gray milky , took off the cylinder head and the crank is really oily when turned (thick black) is the crank (top end) sealed from the gear box or can water still get in there from head, an…

Hi to all Just bought a 98 Montesa and have some questions: Std Jet is 120 Pilot is 44 Needle Position is 3rd from Top The austrian Importeur tells me that this is the standard setting for the 98. But is this setting OK? It feels to me that she doesnt run right in upper range. Feels like she gets to much gas. Starting it is easy even without joke (allways 1st kick). Is this normal? Maybe a smaller Standard Jet would be better? I use 100 octane gas and mix it 1:80 with castrol TTS, Air-filter is fresh cleaned and oiled and the exhaust pipe new stuffed. Thanks, michael

At our local trial today and I had the chance to check out one of the last 315R monts (white rear guard one), great bike, top quality, and well sorted (as it should be) why the hell did Montesa just stop making it? It seems like they have a fully sorted bike in the 315, the closer I looked the more quality bits and bobs I saw...just seems a waste to just stop making it....any thoughts?

I gather than the Montesa uses a standard clutch setup with coil springs rather than a bellville type arrangement ala GG/TRS/etc. Is there any adjustability available to change clutch pull effort, similar to the Beta where you can flip the spring retainers, or would I need to start pulling springs? Just curious... I don't have one, and I've only ridden one briefly, so no idea if I'd need to do any of this, but generally I need a soft pull due some hand problems.

I've got a 2015 Montesa 4rt that I bought new , it's been maintained above and beyond, but I've recently been suffering from what appears to be a rich mixture. I replaced the plug four events ago for an NGK iridium one which has become sooty, as did the last one. It also smells rich when it's on tick over and uses more fuel than other riders that I ride with that have similar bikes. The bike rides and performs well and I assumed with fuel injection that there would be no mixture issues. The air filter is a TwinAir and it's cleaned after each event It also seemed to boil the fuel, for want of a better phrase, at last weekends event. The bike still …

Good evening guys and gals, Just yesterday I acquired my first motorbike, something that was bound to happen eventually with my girlfriend and her family being motorbike crazy. I'm a car technician by trade and have never tinkered with a motorbike so it should be an interesting experience.
