As the months fly by, just wanted to draw your attention to, two weekends later in the year that might be of interest to those looking for an outing in France or Spain. The best classic trial in France in my opinion le VTC classic , Mont Ventoux 14 th and 15 th October, entries open in a week or so... The best classic trial in Spain... in my opinion Motocats, Trial Saint Feliu , Near Girona 18 th 19th November . Places will be sort after, and there are limits to riders and followers so if you fancy riding these, start thinking about it now. For the Mont Ventoux trial you need to make up a team of three riders all on the same route. This has been…

Known for aircooled models , in an almost last gasp of breath both Mecatecno and Merlin produced prototype water cooled trials bikes , desperately trying to keep up with the machine evolution . Only brief recollections of the Merlin prototype is recorded anywhere . Practically nothing was written, all was forgotten and the whereabouts of the bikes were completely unknown. Then a friend and avid collector in Spain stumbled across them both in the space of 1 year......and has added them both to his collection. Since then he's researched them both a little more. When i was down there recently i had to visit them for photos and learn their story. Here it is , …

Ok it's a long drive unless you have a friend in Spain to lend you a bike. But I rode the 2 Days Trial Encamp last weekend, fantastic trial, really recommend it. Single lap each day of 20 sections, yes that's not that many but it takes around 7 hours each day as it's a long way round. If you have ever ski ed in Andorra the first day is based on the ski slopes of Soldeu and Pas de la Casa. To make the trip worthwhile contact Sandra Bonet, this lady provides accomodation a few km from the start and also does trials excursions. So you could do a few days practice / trail riding in the pyrenees followed by the trial.

Enduro might be a little offtopic for this forum, so I will only ask about trials I am looking for a trials school, preferably in Spain, I am total novice to trials and would like to start with some experienced teacher, I am looking for a place where I could go for a week or two to learn the basics. My goal is to improve my enduro skills. I searched google and have not found much information, I hope someone here might have more information, thank you

Gents - a few of us are going to venture into Europe in 2015 and would like to do either one or both of the Ventoux / Roregordo in 2015 ....We will have people travelling from Carlisle & Manchester / Wrexham so its a proper "Road Trip" and with between 6-10 possible riders. I understand the dates are around the beginning of October - can anyone confirm the dates ?? Some help on the following would be ideal. Best way to travel ie : Overnight Ferry to Santander / Bilbao ?? with 3 people & the bikes in a van and the others flying and meeting there. What is the nearest village or town to the start of each event. Any special requirements for the twinshock / C…

The recent classic trial at Rochepaule, France, attracted an entry of over 100 riders, the trial was held over 55 kms of interzone, and had 16 sections, 10 in the morning and 6 in the afternoon. When I mentioned at the weekend it seemed rather too little section action and not for me, I was met with a little gailic backlash. So would competitors on here, be happy with a trial with only 16 sections, would you travel up to 200 miles for this, or am thinking this is the slippery slope. .
