Just picked up a 2016 300 evo I’ve heard stories of the main bearings going , any idea how much use or life they’ve got before they give up , there’s definitely a bit of a ‘whirring ‘ sound coming from the engine which I’m told is a sign of them on their way out but the bike I’ve bought is in very condition and not had hard use can anyone shed some light on it ?

Next questions , the bike is a standard 2016 300 evo , I’ve noticed it’s ‘running on’ abit , do they come with a flywheel weight fitted as standard and can it be removed?also what jetting are people running ? I think the carb needs a good sort out to get it running better

Hi just bought my first evo and I’m after some advice , first question ,clutch and brake levers -do I have to buy ones specifically for the grimeca master cylinders or are all levers universal now ? Secondly how much gearbox oil do I put in on service and what oil are people using , last one the stickers are coming away in places (common beta problem I’m told) anyone had any luck with sticking them back down ? Thanks in advance guys ?

Nice looking bike, I thought the price was horrific but then the new gasgas gp has just come out and thats only 200 pound cheaper , what I don’t understand about vertigo is anyone actually buying them? There are next to none on the second hand market and I dont know about new bike sales , can they really be flogging enough of them to be keeping going and bringing out new models every 6 months

Here’s my quids worth.. give it another 5/10 years and the world championship will cease to exist and instead become the Spanish national championship , I don’t really know how to save the wtc like previously mentioned its evolved past the point of no return unless all the manufacturers come together and decide to make twinshock trials bikes again.off topic slightly but I do have a theory to save the British championship, I believe the Scott and the Scottish should be scoring rounds and then select some of the rounds from the s3 national championship to be scoring rounds aswell and they could be rotated round every year so every club has a fair crack. And then have a separate British arena championship for the big boys maybe 3 or 4 rounds

Franz kadlec to trs and Benoit bincaz to beta , I still rate franz kadlec I think he could still break into the top 5 ,not sure about bincaz he seems more of an indoor specialist

I don’t think ferrer will Make much of an impact to be honest I think it will be a 3 way battle between martyn ,grattarola and marcelli who hasn’t got the pressure of riding for the factory team anymore , one thing I don’t understand is why on earth is Dan peace moving up to TrialGP? He’s been average at best this year I think it’s suicide he will probably come near last in every round ,get fed up and quit like many before him, I hope I’m wrong though

If you search through the other threads on the jotagas forum you will see that they are some what of a mystery company , they back to jotagas after the jgas name was scrapped, they’ve got a uk importer that doesn’t advertise , they seem to be run by an Italian outfit and they’ve signed 2 of the best young Spanish riders to their factory team for next year ,they had a huge stand at the eicma show this year with loads of bikes on display but no mention of price or availability

Looks like loris Gubian is moving on from gasgas , who will step in to ride the electric bike? My guess is he will go to electric motion

What’s the build quality like these days ?say compared to a gas gas for example?i know the old shercos up to 2015 weren’t renowned for good build quality

Toby is 18 years old , one more year in trial 2 won’t do him any harm at this stage in his career , he’s got unfinished business I don’t blame him for having another year and hopefully claim what’s rightfully his , I can see marcelli giving him a real run for his money next year though

Arnau farre 2 year deal with jotagas!

Arnau has signed a 2 year deal with jotagas , great news and looks like a strong showing for them if they keep oriol Noguera aswell next year

Interesting that you say very good build quality , shercos are widely renowned to be made of cheese, as anyone ever compared the 2 together ?i know the frames are slightly different apart from that it’s the same bike ,same factory aswell I believe?

I would agree that a sideways hop is a stop of forward motion and is therefore a 5 , I believed that to be the case until the qualifying section In Italy on the last rock where everyone but bou ,busto and raga hopped sideways off the rock and got away with it

So what did the fim say to the observer? I’m glad you cleared that up Andy because I’ve heard 2 story’s 1:the fim made him change his mind and 2:he changed his own mind , why didn’t the fim take his first call and make the decision stand instead of letting him change it? The World Series has been a revelation since sport 7 took over but this is embarrassing and a complete and utter farce

I agree with smurfy I think either price or martyn at sherco would be. A good young team ,I think Marcelli was a marked man for the full factory repsol squad before this year but he’s. or had a good one aswell, I did hear that they where following gelabert aswell,ferrer has had his time in trial go unfortunately which is a shame because he was looking like a star of the future a few years back

Last year was a massive shake up. For riders so I doubt much will change again next year ,franzi kadlec has been on the same bike all season so maybe that’s a sign he’s on the move , casales is on a 2 year contract with vertigo , I’d like to see Toby martyn step up to trial gp ,I’d guess he will be on a gasgas , maybe jack price will move?

Jake miller on Instagram telling Toby how proud he was at the way he took defeat yesterday ,that’s not good enough for me ,if there was blatant cheating going on why wasn’t there an fim delegate overseeing the observing , surely after grattarola came in from the first lap on one mark eye brows should have been raised ,the Italian round should be dropped next year it’s a disgrace

Gutted for Toby I was praying for Marcelli to have a late 5 , never mind wasn’t meant to be , will Toby go up to trial gp next year anyway though whilst he’s still hungry ,I genuinely believe he could be a star of be future , got a funny feeling he might be on a gasser next year aswell?

I’ve thought this myself a few times this year , jan Peters can’t be running a stock set up he beat max faude into second place at the last German championship which is impressive , all the mods people are mentioning above ,does anyone know anyone who’s swapped the carb to make it more competitive? What’s the weight comparison between the beta and the mont?

No it’s the action of the fork running through the fork seal that rubs the coating off unfortunately , they are basically the same fork as the later version that come on the new gasgas and Sherco /Scorpio models as standard but just a different colour (olive green)and the paint doesn’t fade

It will be fitted with the old style gold tech forks which unfortunately fade in colour as they get older , you’ll see a few bikes around with the same problem , apart from that ,cracking bike
