  1. And just wait till you ride another enduro after doing some time on a trials bike ... You'll be so much faster and smoother in the tight technical stuff , that you might surprise yourself .... Glenn
  2. Alan ... I'm over 5 hrs. away , so I want to relax and camp Sat. nite !!! So I can ride the boys around the novice sections and still try and take the clubman class with the old fantic , It takes alot of patience and concentration for me to compete and watch my boys compete in their 1st and 2nd events , hopefully will be the revamped ty80's event debut and my youngest (tyler 11 ) can leave the fantic bicycle at home and ride it ! While Kyle my elder son (@14) thinks he's a seasoned pro with one event under his belt on the Fantic 50 ... So yeah I'll be there on sat . so I get a chance to grab some R&R ...(the whole reason I ride trials !!!) And Keith , Tyler says he can't wait for you to see him twist a throttle instead of pushing pedals ... Glenn
  3. As long as hell doesn't freeze over between now and then , I'll be there Sat. with both boys and 3 bikes ... They've both been practicing in the yard alot lately (when it's not way too hot ). Gotta break in some fresh novices !!!! If I get time , I'll get them up to Joe's to practice some before the event , and to work on their BASIC skills ... With any luck , see you guys soon ! Glenn
  4. I've got a friend/mentor that rides a 4rt and hauls it in the back of his fullsize Dodge pickup with a normal camper shell on the bed , and his load/unload process is only about a 3 minute routine ... and his mont stands straight up when loaded with a fork brace to keep fork compression to a minimum ... I'll try to get him to post a photo or two ... Glenn
  5. Yep , The only thing covered then was manufacturing Defects . You had to hope that the dealer had good set up guys , or ask for the bike still in the crate .... They were sold with a merchantability clause , ie it will start , stop , and roll and perform as designed when delivered ,upon delivery you assume all liability for the bike . The good old days , before lawyers ruled the world !!

    On Any Sunday

King Kenny !!! Great video , scary bike . I did a few laps on a Jawa speedway bike years ago , I can't even imagine what that TZ would be like ! Glenn
  7. As long as it gets a good home ....
  8. Pm me about the 300 ... I may have a home for it ...
  9. Yeah they are good at what they do , BUT that ain't trials by any means ... Glenn
  10. Your cabbie is SWEET !!! nice work Glenn
  11. Have the lights been removed from the bike ? And if so was it done correctly ? I believe sherco makes a light harness eliminator harness/jumper kit so the output of the generator gets routed correctly without regulator issues ...
  12. Necessity is the mother of invention ...? or run what ya got ! Glenn
  13. On this side of the pond , B&J Racing in tenn. can get them for you !
  14. Any exposure is a good thing !, But did he even mention the word trials ??? Cool though
  15. Looks interesting Lee , appears to have the floating front brake plate ... Parts may be a major issue ??? Anybody know anymore about them ? Glenn
  16. Did you get them apart ???
  17. Contact B&J Racing , I'm pretty sure they have or can get approved spark arresters for the Wes systems , Different end cap I think ... Bob rides Nationals on his Beutiful Majesty and I think the rules say it has to have a approved system ... Glenn
  18. Isn't it funny how common sense prevails ... Now get MR 2 to a autocross track and have some fun ... Glenn
  19. I too would think a new Fantic or any other twinshock bike would be a great seller , We've already done all the R&D improvements to the bikes as a whole . They would be alot less intimidating to the newcommer too . And also cheaper to produce ... Imagine being able to go to a dealer and buy a brand new Fantic 240 with a steeper fork angle , better footpegs , and a swingarm shaft you could lubricate , it would also have a flatslide carb and a new ignition system ! Or a Ty/Majesty with 350 cc ... And they would just have to use a floating pivot drum brake , as I don't think anyone ever came up with a better drum design ... Yet . I think that as many that could be built would get sold , and our rider ranks would increase . And yet it would level the playing field a little , make the sections more realistic for most , and take some of the circus sideshow element out of the sport ... Alot of what keeps the twinshock movement going is guys like me or Doug that are actually mechanics and see a old bike and think how easy it'll be to make a competitive ride out of that , instead of some guy buying a old bike and paying to have it built . Most of us trials Guys work on our own bikes , where as most of us TS/pre65 types have the want /need / desire / ability to build /fabricate the final bike we want ... If a modern TS could just be simply purchased , there would be alot more folks riding them. Just my Sat. Morning Rant ... Glenn
  20. Now That's a Trials Event !!!! Thank's to all involved ! WOW ... Glenn
  21. Get some WES springs or Checkout the Springs Classictrial.co.uk now offers . The stock springs have most likely lived out their useful life . There were a few versions of forks used on the 240's and all look about the same from the outside . some had long springs , some short , but to the best of my knowledge the single seal slider didn't appear until the 300 . The seal used in the sliders is different between the single and double seal model , This fellow lOlivier PAULI This friend have a very good knowledge of the 240pro. You can find him somewhere in the south-est of France. He's also a very good pilot : fantic240AThotmail.fr is supposed to be able to machine the early sliders to accept the different single seal ... But I just made up a aluminum spacer with a slightly larger ID and run one arriette seal per leg with the spacer on top of it and then the snap ring . Has worked without a problem for a few years now . As to the spring spacer ... I use pvc pipe with a flat washer between it and the spring , works a treat . Start about a 1 1/2 inches long (w/ WES springs ) and then you can adjust the preload to your liking Cheaply ! One of these days I'd like to check a set of these out too .... http://www.bytoto.com/hfs/ interesting concept ! Cheers Glenn
  22. Cool , another maker of repackable Fantic silencers !!! The world just keeps getting better !!! But I like Stefanos better , I think
