  1. As a side issue the rear mudguard is superb mines done 3 SSDTs without a crack, Pity they didn't make the main bearings out of the same stuff.
  2. Hi as mines got Beta foks on it I can't really help, however what I generally do with forks is guess and I'm never far off. Try about 275 ml in each leg and see how they feel you can always add a bit more if they're bottoming out. Check there's clearance at the clutch lever as this will cerainly cause clutch slip.cheap fix if it is. Cheers.
  3. You'll always get the odd rubbish decision be it stop or non stop in the long run they'll balance out' never heard anyone complaining about not getting a 5 for a stop. I imagine Bou will get the benefit of the doubt pretty often ,however I suppose all those years ago when he wasn't world champ he got plenty dodgy 5s just like any other upcoming rider.
  4. Can't be many about I've a 250 and run it about 80.1 . Frames are poor look for cracks and look carfully at the rear of the engine where it bolts on to the swingarm.. Imagine some stuffs really hard to get for them as they're so rare.
  5. Quite right it's a national disgrace and while I'm on have you ever seen a hill walker smile? Here's another one have you noticed that ever acre of sloping wood land now has a makeshift downhill MTB track on it.This envolves moving tons of soil cutting down trees and geneally depositing a wide selection of litter througout, Can hardly get the Ossa down some of them.
  6. Cabby my wee Scorpas run with the old dog turd strip in it for months right on the outer edge of the sidewall too.
  7. Sure was an awsome ride on the wee bike, The clubmen probably need a bigger motor than the good guys to lug them out of trouble when it goes wrong but I'll put my hands up. I also thought the 4rts were total puddins up there didn't like the dry conditions one bit lucky if a couple made the top 50.
  8. You're rubbish there's one on our kid on forum with the laudie fair doos he's just sitting on the bike asking for a fag.
  9. Aye sure it'll do trials profile a lot of good, you'll know he's got previous up here did a Lothian Trial a few years back .
  10. Good on him not like you can't make the Scottish that easy even the cross country would tax most riders in fact those sections get in the way of a good trial. Real seek I'm no there, think half the Wobblers are up there. Controversially who's better for the trial Ross Noble or James Dabill?
  11. Heard top Geordie comic and trials fan Ross Noble is up and about at the Fort. Making a programme for the Dave TV channel. Real good news on the publicity front I would say as the Trial has always been a bit Masonic just like most trials to be fair
  12. A couple of bags of cold set tarmac!
  13. This may be the stupidest thing I've said on TC(Which is quite an achivement) I assume you're aware the Transmission and engine oil are seperate on these Tractors and are not getting them mixed up.
  14. Could do what I do and just wing it. Changed the wee boy's Beta's seals yesterday and just guessed felt brilliant. I think half the riders are running about with wrong capacities as seals seep away and other crap gets in through pressure washing . I don't subscribe to this method when mixing fuel, well not every time..

    SSDT Team USA

All the best lads ( and lass) wish I was there, top tip speak to the observers it's hard to 5 someone you like plenty of our lads up there and they all like a bit banter.
  16. Naturally I would want Gary Mac to win as it would be a massive boost to trials up here. Alex Wigg has won before and Ross Danby goes well up there. Dougie had a bit luck last year with a load of sections scrapped on his early day but he's had problems up there in the past. Def non winner is CoC Jeff Horne who's got a last minuter but I'll be impressed if he get's round. Brown to win though long overdue.
  17. Just to keep the pot boiling if we found oil in Glen Nevis how long would it take for the bulldozers to move in? Probably about as long as it takes to drive up the glen from Fort William. It's double standards all round , half Fifes been mined for centuries that's ok but don't take a bike off road anywhere. There;s an SSSi a mile from me used to be an army firing range and contains a massive septic tank for the nearby caravan site. It's so crazy it's off the scale when you think about it.
  18. You never had this problem back in the day. Most dads were there simply to drive there charges to the event and observe if required. It was up to junior to get on with it . Now I have to wet nurse the wee boy round every trial it's pityful ,he broke an exhaust a brake lever and a fuel tap at the weekend .If he knew he had to push his bike half way along the Mamore road after crashing he'd be a sight more careful. Trying my patience and taking advantage of my good nature I say. Should be a rule parents can't go within 100 yards of there kids during a trial ,make my day anyway.
  19. I was watching an Austrailian Trials video on youtube a few months back. It roughly said that nearly all trials riders are nice people which is true. However it was stated there aways seems to be one insufferable a***hole who is generally tolerated by rest. I try not to be that person at every trial.
  20. It's bad form to complain about any classic rider queue jumping as you've got to bear in mind most of them haven't much time left.
  21. This probably wont help but I kick mine over slowly half a dozen times when cold before I push the button and go for it. Also I have the bike leaning against something so I can really use all my 12 stone. Normally starts first ,second kick. It's rubbish when hot (Maybe 5/6 kicks) unless I give it a proper planned kick, leave it running if I can. Cheers the noo
  22. Thanks for the invite but they wont be "my kind" of riders. Yesterday was a disgrace half didn't know the rules and some had full face helmets and one even had a home made bike. I can't associate with these people. Seriously assume Penkridge is just like Lothian so keep the faith.
  23. You're moving off topic old bean however let me inform you that I have patented the 5 section 8 lap trial. In a few months all organisers will be begging me to allow them to use the format Back on topic Lothian had a misely 82 entries today I don't know why clubs bother with these fun trials only about half the entry were new folk.
  24. Today I'm heading to Lothian Trials Club certainly for what I would class a fun trial. Two easy routes one aimed at the raw novices other at very average clubmen/women. THere's no awards or really classes mark yourself . Free tea/coffee biscuits at the sign on totally laid back £10 to enter. Advice/help for any new folk that turn up. All there trials are the same just trying to get folk to dip there toe in the trials water. A great day out on the bike and I would suggest every club trial should be run that way mine too if the committee would wear.it
  25. I didn't know this about the FIM.Pretty rubbish if it's fact that they've priced things out. Listening to the radio yesterday I heard Glasgow City womans fc bemoan the fact that they get no publicity compared to the mens despite the fact they've won 10 consecutive Scottish championships. The slogan on their away strip is "You can't be what you can't see".to highlight this....
