  1. It looked a real fun bike and sounded great, certainly reminded me of my Scorpa 200F which is my default bike. Frankly riding this would make very little difference to the average rider and they would likely enjoy themselves a whole lot more not being dragged across the hillside on some factory 300 that barely comes off idle.
  2. The way we're going the Chinese will be the only ones trading with us . Anyone in the UK that criticises this needs to look at our own offerings, yes, nil .

    Problem running

There's a mixture screw in the bottom of the carb it's a plain brass screw and fits directly in front of the float bowl. Take it out. it's so fine it's like a needle and make sure the hole is clear reset at 3 turns out. It's critical it'll hardly start if it's blocked and it wont take throttle. This would be my advice, these bikes are fantastic nothing mechanically ever goes wrong. Let me know how it goes. Cheers,
  4. Interesting, why Canada sure there's a sensible answer. Over here there's a problem with lack of cheaper bikes for people wanting to start trials, not saying this is the answer but if priced right it would help. To me it looks a bit too complicated but I'm often wrong, it might be what the market wants.
  5. We do get the occasional member that hails from West of Lundin Links but we carry out a full Police check first , I hope no one finds out I'm from Cardenden or they'll be more than raised eyebrows at the bridge club and a termination of membership would be arriving 1st class from the R&A..
  6. Obviously Fife specially if you don't want your bike nicked or stuck in traffic for half your life, you can buy a house at a reasonable price and get pretty decent weather, trials are rubbish I even run some , but there's plenty on and loads of help if you're rubbish on a bike. Yorkshire looks good on paper but it seems to be full of English for some reason.
  7. Being that the average rider is over 40 I just don't know where the idea of brightly coloured skin tight clothing comes about. Frankly most trials gear would be considered to camp for strictly, stick to MTB gear or MX at least you can look sensible even though your riding may indicate other wise.
  8. Hi cheneycol, I've got a 9 year old who's about 4ft6in can manage medium wheel Beta 80 bit on the big side plus it's tricky for him to start. He can play on the bike but no way would he mange anything technical. My 13 about 5ft 2in year old can handle the big wheel 80 with ease but would struggle on a full size bike even though he's more than able. Frankly the big wheel would do most adults great bike and far better kit than the wee beta. Hope this helps.

    2019 factory

At least they'll be genuine 2019 bikes.

    Fuel use 280i

I did a couple of 6 day's on the 300 and it never ran out between fuel checks, other bikes did but maybe driven a bit harder than mine. I wouldn't say it was good though and it run's pretty lean I'm trying to guess how long it would last just playing around, on a full tank more than 75 mins for sure.
  11. Why not just make half the sections a bit tamer in the Championship class then they all could play. As onit says there's going to be more routes than a club trial, every new route devalues the existing ones.
  12. 5 hours round the Scott or 5 hours at a club Trial?
  13. Hi, got the same bike but too mean to buy the lipo's yet. All I can say is the lead acids are pretty instant and very controllable with the stock set up. Most of the Osets I've witnessed with the lipo's always seem to have a very abrupt power delivery but I've no first hand knowledge. Sure someone on here will know,
  14. Few basic things, kickstart will come loose just have to keep an eye on it top and both bottom bolts, Tape up the front of the bashplate so water/ mud doesn't get too the wiring at the front of the engine. Treat the linkage like the chain and lube at least every time you use it or more . I use spray 3in one oil or really watery chain lube but be through. That's about all I know oh and run it lean they don't like too much oil about 40 mil t0 5 litres works for me.

    240 head mod

Is there not any footage off what a 240 Fantic could manage "back in the day" these bikes were brilliant and with modern tyres it would be a scary we bike.
  16. Hi there, is this quite common as my 16 Rev 80 feels like it's about to seize when it gets really hot ? Let it cool and it runs fine. Cheers
  17. Up here it's damp all the year round more so through west where it must rain every day Summer or Winter. Here's my point, I'm 55 and every bike I've got will outlast me even if I leave them under the porch out the back which I do. I know this is no help, but never any bother with bikes left for a while. So my tip would be move to East Scotland and build porch.
  18. 2, Yamaha TY250 Mono 3, TY175, there's a pattern here. Worst Fantic 307, Fantic section(My original one not the one I just sold) Montesa 200 but there's loads more on that second list , basically anything that's not got a Yamaha. motor.
  19. Kind of says it all that he's not up for the BTC, bring back a BTC based on the big nationals and ditch this exclusive series. Include the SSDT and the Scott so we can all feel part of it.
  20. Never had any problems with tight stuff on my RLs back in the day, they all started to collapse at the steering head first time they got a hammering. Moving on the sensible approach would be to keep the bikes as standard as " reasonably practical" imagine it'll go the same way as the pre 65s.
  21. Back in 06 I got a 163 Scorpa from my local dealer which I believe was the first one in the UK. The engine was built in Brazil and has ran faultlessly for the last 12 years. I might be a bit outspoken but I would suggest that it has done more work than any other bike up here . Probably done about 200 trials plus, also I run trials so there's loads of setting out and clearing up and I've lent it out on many occasions to all and sundry. Best bike I've ever owned by a mile and it's sitting in the van ready for tomorrows trial.
  22. I suppose the old Bulto would run a lot hotter than these modern girds. Moving on synthetic just seems to clog up the silencers of modern 2Ts. My wee boys Beta has an inbuilt chain oiler as the silencer drips oil on the chain. What I don't get is as a gardener my Hedgecutter ,Strimmer, Chainsaw work miles harder than any Trials bike with no problems and no real fuss over what ratio or oil type is run.
  23. Hi SS, have to say anything that makes Trials more complicated wouldn't get my vote. It's bad enough with multi classes multi routes and a complex scoring system. Certainly wouldn't want to see a grading system or anything that brings in more classes and riding on the road . I would say is the trouble with most Trials is they try to please everyone and it doesn't work. Our club run easy trials which is really a fun route with a few extra gates for the more adventurous .There's no pretence about it being for the better riders and it works for about 70% of the riders out there. Sometimes there's no awards and mostly there self scoring and it works to get riders out there. It's more a battle of concentration than riding ability so this negates any need for grading riders anyone could win and does. I would say though if you're going to run a "serious " trial this doesn't work, it's got to be observed, difficult, and not for the casual rider. .
  24. Don't suppose the Richmond club needs any more spectators clogging up the roads. Wish I could go ' best of luck to BB but there's plenty others who could give him a run on the Trials bike. It'll be great and it's going to be wet.
  25. I've an old one 06 plate lwb hi top takes 3 adult bikes easy. No had any bother apart from rust.
