  1. Count me in and take Raga Fuji and Cabestany with him. Way it's going they'll be at the top when they draw there pensions, look at Dougie over 40 and won the Scottish, can't believe he had the cheek to accept the over 40 trophy.
  2. Sadly most of the entrants only have a few pre65s left in them so it would be quite upsetting. Probably around for the original version of this!
  3. Old school no clutch Saunders era fairly killed that style off. Would the Majesty have been better than his Honda?
  4. My 2014s though it's done a couple of six days I don't use it much so take my advice with a pinch of salt. I spray really watery chain lube (Or similar) lnto all the moving parts in the hope that some of it manages to get in. I remove the bigwashers on the swing arm pivots and try to force lube in there too and slacken off any bits I can to allow the lube in. I've replaced the bushes once and really they were fine, more of a precaution. I do lube it a lot though at least before and after every ride. Hope this helps.
  5. I thought for a while that modern trials needs to re invent itself It's a real clumsy format with loads of rules and routes that's nothing like the sport I started out in. New folks heads spin when they turn up and when they look at some of the sections about pass out Personally I would prefer what I would call an "Enduro" style of trial where it's not all about the sections more flowing . I know I wouldn't want an out and out race but there must be a format that would work. I've bandied this about in the club up here for a while the trouble is they all think like trials riders. I've not given up yet.
  6. Exactly what I took on me and my wifes first date. She was well impresssed that's a 2 course meal round these parts.
  7. Didn't want to get personal it's self confessed on our local forum if you want to look. I'm taking a flask in future but if it explodes and covers me with burning hot soup at the Trial they will be hearing from my solicitor.
  8. I'm not making this up for once. A local Trials club; no names. is to stop serving soup ( FOC I may add ) to riders after the trial. Apparently a member pointed out at the AGM that a rider falling ill after partaking may leave the club wide to legal action. No way is this decision connected to the club being in the North East of Scotland an area noted for extreme thriftyness and deserted streets on poppy day.
  9. As i'm pretty poor with the spanners plus I have little time this means it;s wise to stay modern. Problem is modern bikes are universally boring. Pootling around in a high gear on the pilot jet trying to make the latest 300 monster pull a bit can get a bit mundane. Don't really don't know what I would buy myself given a choice.
  10. Exciting for sure, Jarvis is my hero (sorry Dougie) love his go pro videos.
  11. " Directions from Amarillo" there's a joke there I can't work out. It's just too cool round about here it's directions from Auchenshoogle which doesn't have that ambiance. Best of luck folks our attempts at starting clubs round here have gone well
  12. Mad Max meets Prescilla Queen of the Desert ,or maybe a bit harsh.

    280I Sooty Plug

Can't mind but it's no hard to tell as normally the tickover speeds up as you cut down the fuel or slows as it gets more. Don't loosen the torx too much om the tps just enough as barely move it the adjustment is tiny. Be careful I probably was lucky plus I would know if my motor wasn't right before anything happened even though I can only do basics.

    280I Sooty Plug

Well try kicking one over and that might answer your question. Mine all but finished my achilles. It's not the kicking it's the sudden stop when the kickstart smashes into the frame. I really don't know about the mapping but mine suddenly started running rich and being a man assumed I could sort it without any help or advice. I adjusted the tps by ear and it runs spot on plug's perfect never missed a beat since. Don't know why it went off but it was snowing at the time maybe that upset something? Best running bike I've ever ridden and if it had an electric start it would be perfect.

    Btc Rider

Surely not, that Graham Jarvis was well know in the Trials World, now he's a Red Bull Global superstar. Can't see what the attraction would be? Fame/money/recoginition/fun. Crazy to stay in the Trials game.
  16. From a totally cynical standpoint if I was in his position I would be looking to move over to the enduro scene. Nothing to prove in the UK, WTC will be more of the same. English (NoT Scottish) riders have done superbly well at enduro some not quite as talented as JD. Wouldn't suggest for a minute that Enduro may be a better payer?

    Premix Ratio Goof Up

Interesting I don't think the pre mix ratio is quite as critcal as some say. I've heard some pretty lean ratios up to 140.1 In the SSDT all bikes get supplied 50.1 certainly mine ran fine, maybe a fraction less crisp but nothing that would bother anyone. Normally run 100'1 myself. Issue I would think is the build up of oil in the exhaust over a period of time.
  18. Sorry Rabie, My attempt at humour maybe a bit sarky patently didn't translate South of the border. Must try harder.
  19. The riders are certainly getting less reliable. Most are that old buying a new tyre would be wildly optimistic let alone a new bike.
  20. Rather good, Sammy Miller being the original Honda development guru has a lot to answer for. If it wasn't for his Bultaco/Honda exploits we would be quite happy riding round muddy fields on our Rudges. He ruined trials and they gave him an MBE or similar.
  21. You aren't bothered whether I ride my bike or not so don't kid me you're worried about my medication.
  22. I can't comment pn the ACU as it's the SACU up here but all their Trials committee members up here seem to be running about in Ferraris and everytime I phone them they're in the South of France. Amazing how far the licence (Reg card up here) fee goes after administering the sport and running all the championships.
  23. Keep it cheap,Beginners can come along and have a bash for less than £20 at our local clubs. Knock on effect is plenty of new folk coming through. Last thing I want is trials developing into some elitist middle class domain like most other sports, even at my wee boys football you can't move for BMWs these days. Don't imagine the club scene anywhere is a patch on the UK Be interesting to know how numbers stack up comparing here with Spain.
  24. Aye another gloating 4rt owner,we all know there a great bike. Frankly though they've a serious image problem with most owmers looking like they should have a deerstalker,a cravat and a cigarette holder. Can't answer the Vertigo question,I know my crappy Ossa never has any FI issues(maybe a few others) Think all todays bikes are kind off disposable apart from the Mont which will outlast most of there owners.
  25. It's no bad and that's a big compliment from a fellow Scot. Only downside is having Trialled for over 40 years a look atTC tells me I know nothing about trials.
