    Gas Gas Future?

How about this for a cost cutter. Sell direct from the factory,no importer (sorry JS) or dealer. Just make to order and sell on line direct to the door. I would be quite happy to do this specially as i've never had an issue with any new bike and that's a lot. No ideal, but this is the way things are going. How much would you save too?
  2. We had a few inches of snow at our trial on Sunday, parking was a bit tricky and eased the sections back. Everyone loved it,about 70 turned up,real nice change and gives the old hands a chance to shine as an old fashioned keep rolling technique works best. Snows away now.
  3. An hourmeter Broony? good job it's not a noisemeter in your case. No fancy buying a decent silencer on ebay!
  4. No licence? It's a disgrace, all and sundry will turn up. You'll be getting new members next. It will all end in tears.
  5. Should come to one of our trials. Most members like a quick smoke in the queue to calm the nerves. A whiff of 2T is like a breath of fresh air.
  6. Good one lads, don't understand how the Australian Tourist Board let you use the place. Far nicer than that opera house eyesore thingy. Keep the faith.
  7. It's double standards on steroids. One Jumbo jet taking off will do more damage than all the trials on at the weekend. We do more damage driving to trials than riding them.
  8. I don't know how experienced you are so this may be a bit patronising. A few things ,if the 250 is not running cleanly meaning the carb is not set up properly or water?dirt in it it wont grip well. Other obvious things, oldish tyres don't like the cold, bars, too far forward/back, suspension needing serviced. If there's any riders near you that know there stuff ask them to have a go on it. Frankly unless you're Gary MacDonald a stock 250 will be good enough for anyone up here.

    4Rt Quality ?

I told you the gun turret destroys them.
  10. We're not alone in fact Lothian Trials Club over Edinburgh way and Montrose are probably even more beginner friendly If you're ever about you would be most welcome. As a side issue sometimes it's not the sections that can scupper a beginner, the between section going can catch folk out too..
  11. "Beginners should be treated like gold",well said. I've always said the most important people are those that come to a trials for the first time. We. meaning our club actually discriminate against the better/experienced riders. Not a popular thing in some quarters, but frankly it doesn't matter because the better riders keep riding, maybe not with us but they rarely pack in. We run 2 routes a beginners/Clubman route and a slightly harder but still fairly basic A route. There's nothing for these "better" riders. This keeps it simple and there no hard sections to intimidate the new folk. Certainly works,we get new members every trial.

    4Rt Quality ?

You know we call these 4rt's "Panzers" up here. There only normally 2 problems,a thrown track and the gun turret jammed. Never heard of this clutch thingy. Hope this helps.

    4Rt Quality ?

I understand a few moans about quality as that's what there sold on. Not like you would buy one to win a trial or anything.
  14. You can mix my fuel ,pity you're a bit far away. Good tip though,I'll get one ,totally blows my tight Scot credentials.
  15. Would you trust the average trials rider to mix fuel at 140'1? Most are too tight to buy a decent measure and normally use an old can that doubles for the lawn mower. I wouldn't let any of them mix me a vodka and coke let alone fuel for my Ossa.
  16. Hi Mark,I assume that's Housty's Ossa you've got. No excuses then! Welcome to come and visit us or Dunfermline if you want to ride a trial where it doesn't rain. TC has most of our regular trials on it. Eastscotlandtrials forum has our local plays ,bit out of your domain though. Happy dabbing.
  17. WTC is no really my thing however any trial that sets out sections to suit a few elite riders is asking for trouble. This happens from club level upwards when CoCs set out every section with an A/expert route which is unrealistic for all but a few. Why not just have half the sections expert level and the rest rideable for those game enough to have a bash albeit they'll be taking 5s or crashing out on the others. Our Scottish Championship is a bad example, only a handful attempt it because normally most the sections are beyond all but a few talented riders.
  18. Mmmn,he admits he's no interest in things past or riding today's trials. Seems strange considering his position. .
  19. 200 Euros for a licence! that's like saying we only want rich riders, crazy. Can't really estimate the number of riders here, there loads up North that never go near a trial. I know we've about 200 members in our East Fife based club. Normally about 50/60 for a trial. Just to rub salt in the wound, you don't even need a licence to ride at our trials. It's great being Scottish.
  20. I would question if there's enough room to fit anything other than the standard. set ups. Frankly access is dire. The later carb is acceptable but I think there were more changes than that. Feeling the earlier ones not got a restricter in the inlet manifold. Happy fiddling..
  21. I've had one about 5 years with the later carb and TBH it took me about 2 years fiddling to get it "rightish". I always run the idle speed high like a 4rt,this helps a bit. As yours is the older carb I can't really help ,I've only come across owners of a couple of them, both didn't run right. One tip, to remove the carb which is a pain take the rubber hose of the front of the airbox. Best of luck.
  22. Things haven't changed that much?. My father who rode in the 50s/60s replaced the shocks on his Francis Barnett with solid rods.. This was after experts told him sprung frames were no good in finding grip. Sounds strangely familiar,
  23. Just curious what mixture were you running?
