Like it,piston in the wrong way round, certainly wouldn't need that extra base gasket to take the edge of it.
I've done worse!
-
There was a few there at Loch Lomond.
All including myself badly let down by the lack of soup at the finish!
I'll speak to the club.
Changing subject I hear Scotland's only genuine Pre 65 rider is still not getting a ride come May.
They're having a laugh.
-
Aye Barry welcome to drop in here anytime.
Trials no up to much but the banters good.
-
Fitted one a few months back went flat at next two trials.
Don't think they like the later rims.
-
Not my speciality but I've a 199b which I killed in the Summer.
Couldn't fault the handling, never wanted to tuck in or throw you over the bars.
Really planted in a straight line.
I thought it was fine in the tight stuff.
If set up right the bike would scare me.
Should have it running in the Summer.
-
115 posts on a linkage bearing!
Good job it didn't drop a valve.
The site would have crashed forever.
-
Hi Roberto from Scotland.
Maybe if you get the bug you'll be over for the famous Scottish Six Days one day!
Spread the word.
Feet up.
-
Hi laud from Sunny Fife.
Check out the Lothian Trials Club I think there first events early next month.
Specialise in beginners/fun trials and if you turn up there's always someone on hand to show you the ropes.
If they can't get you round I'll eat my Ossa.
Really laid back, even more than us which takes some doing.
No pack drill turn up and ride,
We've lads from your area ride with us too.
Keep the faith.
-
Didn't his long flowing golden locks cause more controversy?
Hard to believe now!
-
-
Check the clutch arm down at the slave cyl, they're like tissue paper.
Bound to be other posts about this.
-
Funny feeling the Ossa has bushes and not bearings.
Both have there merits I suppose.
My dealer (Bike not the other thing) said spray the linkage points with chainlube, the really wattery type after each ride.
I've done as he says and it all feels fine after a winters use.
Never had a squeak.
-
Being a miserable Scot I often stick the bike in the old Focus estate rather than take the bosses 3 litre Patrol.
Just remove the front wheel.then jam it in just under the bars when it's in the back.(back wheel in first)
This stops the front mudguard distorting.
Rear mudguard has to come off too,
Never had any coolant or transmission oil leaking.
Don't need to take rear wheel or bars of.
Not a big deal, don't know why more don't do it.
Mind and take a bike stand.
Maybe someone else can advise on tools but you won't need much.
-
Hi laud, easy blue frames the 04 model, only one with that colour frame.
Never seen a pattern rear silencer, imagine original will be pricey, could be wrong.
Bit of a chore.suggest cutting open repacking/repair and get welded?
Centre box prone to cracking too so check, don't run well with any leaks.
No bad old bikes though.
Birkett Motorsport's the Scorpa Importer/Spares supplier.
Cheers.

I'll paint a picture of our trial today in Sunny North East Fife in Scotland.
We're up at about 600ft with clear skys about 6 degrees C.
Unspoiled views East out over the Eden Estuary to the North sea looking over Historic St Andrews and the Famous Old Course.
West a view across rural Fife towards the Lomond Hills and beyond.
About 60 clubmen riding a mixture of fairly easy rocky, hilly grassland style sections.
All have just turned up and entered on the day for a measly £10.
And at the end a nice cup of piping hot soup.
It couldn't be any better
-
Seen this happen at one of our venues.
Very fine silt gets between the pads and the disc and the brakes go right off.
Feels like they've got air in them, just no bite.
Clean and dry out they're fine.
-
We've got all the latest here, electric, running water and next year we'll have an inside loo.
Looks like I'll just have to wait a week or two.
Or bite the bullet and try them.
-
Even a mean Scot has to spend money now and again.
Couldn't resist a new pair of Dunlops at a bargain price .
I don't want to get carried away and fit them before the canvass shows through on the Michelins.
However I was wondering if any ones tried them yet.
On first inspection the tread is much more pliable and seems to be made of a softer rubber!
Be interesting ,thought the old Dunlops felt like your pressures were high and the slow speed damping heavy.
Being nice they made a new bike feel 10 years old.
Anyway tell me they're no bad or at least grip as well as a 2 year old Michelin.
-
At least you could get a Beta far enough up a cliff to be worth throwing off!
-
Aye right enough Nigel I would have though Dadof would have a textbook knowledge of these?
80s Trials Bikes chapter one would cover it.
Phillip Berlatier could make them go,Peter Cartwright and Gerald Richardson did quite well on them too if I remember correctly.
-
Having destroyed a couple back in the day I would say yes.
Started in gear and kickstart on the right side were a bonus (All 6 speed)
TY Mono made them obsolete almost overnight.
-
We all know who wears the troosers in your hoose so don't kid us.
Ironing and washing? surely your jobs.
Pray she doesn't read your post.
-
Pretty good, more than this old boy would be comfy with.
One tip keep shortening your run up.
Most trials it,s not the hight of the step but the approach.
-
Agreed,I've never registered one since 1989.
-
Dan,it's the dealers that grow round our club anyway,3 new dealers locally since we started 5 years ago.
There's always new bikes showing up at our trials.
The reason is we push it hard at grass roots because the new lads are keen and spend money.
if it wasn't for the clubs few bikes would get sold, our club does more promotion than any dealer.
