  1. Rain would do nicely - but if the big fella upstairs can't deliver ??
  2. I think the boy Lampkin could do with a bit of weather precipitation to add to his home advantage We don't want those big rocks to be dry do we ? Got the wet weather gear ready just in case.
  3. The bushes are on the pre-04 bikes. Roller bearings replaced the bushes in 04 and later. Some folks know I have an 03, so I just wanted to point out that I was talking about the rollers bearings that I retro fitted. There are actually two roller bearings and a circlip that the basket floats on. The clutch noise was less after replacing the bearings but it still rattles when the clutch is disengaged - as do most Pro's. I would compare the noise level with another Pro and see if it is any worse/better before you tear it down. Will be worth checking your plate thickness while you have it all apart, a search on 'clutch' in the 'gasgas' forum will find how to do this.
  4. Replaced the bushes on an '03 with the needle rollers. The bushes needed to be pressed out but the rollers don't need any special tools, when you remove the basket you will be able to remove them by hand (fingers!).
  5. I have an 03 Pro. There was loads of crap getting into the air box before I sorted it. Two reasons, i) it was badly sealed when the two halves were joined in the factory and ii) the drain plug set up on the 02/03 is pants The solution is to buy a new bottom half from John Shirt, it will be the later type, cost about
  6. Strange they only list a BT280328017 part for all cc's in 03 and its still the same in 05 again across the range. Check the part number stamped on it. Its a pain to change, as around the 'TUBE, AIR CLEANER CONNECT' is the one place Senior Gasser managed to use plenty of sealant. I can't figure out why the sealant is put on how it is Lots of sweat and swearing required to seperate it from the airbox bottom half - I split the box to change it, as I was fitting a new bottom half.
  7. Issac Newton found a good word for it - Gravity At 14.5 stone I know what he's talking about now, never really understood when I was at school

    2006 Gas Gas

This suggests alloy fork tubes (stantions) over steel. Would save the 1 Kg they quote. Interesting !
  9. Tried it this morning (BST) and its working for me.
  10. Did anyone get along to Addingham ? Just wondered if its open for practice at the moment ?
  11. This seems to happen every time I fettle the bike for myself
  12. SS50 ! was it 4 speed or 5 ? Had an orange tanked 5 speeder, ace bars Only to be beaten in a straight line by early Suzuki AP50s. This is pre-restriction so these little 50s were good for 55+mph on a provisional license no CBT/Part1/Part2. Had a full Honda stable, as the trials bike was a Fraser Honda 180 ! I look back fondly on the SS50 (can you tell ?) The 180 bore on the std TL125 barrel was too much, every thing became marginal - then finally the liner skirt detached and that was that. Not long after this a Jap lad turned up at a local Centre trials (Hattorri-san), road a development bike that became the Seeley 200. There and you thought I had gone off topic didn't you !

    Sherco 3.2

You been across that pond too long ! That's the kind of excuse us Shandy drinkin' Southerns make. Mines a Lager Top - plenty of lime - I'm drinking inside cos' there's shower forecast. VHST is a problem carb, Gasgas ditched it. Montesa kept with it, but in the end it seems that the manufacturing tolerences determine if you get a good un or a bad un. I've had two bad uns. Hows about a PHBL (the Cub likes it) or a Keihin PWK on the 3.2 ?
  15. I find the plastic easy to bounce off the odd rock Check out my sponsors ! Half a tyre - Big Effort
  16. The South Midland calender has it down for the 14th June. I haven't seen anything in TMX is it going ahead ?
  17. Me thinks its because its an English speaking host country. With Folks on the board being involved in organisation or spectating. So one way or another it feels 'closer' than a European based round (strange as that may seem). Personally having seen some Duluth DVD coverage its also a testing event that's a level playing field for all competitors. This years daily scores reflect this - when the going gets tough, etc - so you get a 'real' winner. The other thing that makes it is the specator support, the crowds aren't frightend of making a noise - that adds to the atmosphere - and really helps the competitors. I like the PA and music, at the sections - gives it a party atmosphere - maybe not to everyones taste though. Having raced in the US, Australia and across Europe in a previous existence I can tell you that the American crowds are the loudest and most enthusiastic - in a great way. I'm really looking forward to Hawkstone, for most of the same reasons. I think it will be tough, but an honest event. I think that the air horns will be heard all across Shropshire
  18. Looking after your own PR is just as important as looking after your bike if you are: a) a wanabee, a rising star, c) a pro or d) a has been. Nothing to do with North vs. South - that's complete b**lo*ks. Don't expect the press to: notice you, write about you, give you free coverage, mention your sponsors unless you do something for them. Journalists have better things to do, than dig around for your out of date details and an old photo that they have used before - they have deadlines and a copy to get out. So make it easy for them. Write a profile - keep it current, get lots of photos together, develop a relationship with your local paper and the specialist press. Put a web site together. Then write your own reports, the press might not use them verbatum but might use a quote. The website can always carry the full report. Don't sit back and wait for the coverage - generate it yourself.

    Honda Trials

Surely there's enough interest for a reprint ? Especially with the new 4RT and a continued TLR/RTL revival. Seen a couple go for more that
