  1. I think that the Jitsie kit was copied from Peter Schwarz, he was making plates long before Jitsie. I had a set on the infamous 315, they do raise the rear and seem to make it more progressive. Not planning to try them on the 4RT - not sure I'll ever be good enough to really notice the difference. They are very close to the std centres. Only one oil to use - Elf.

    Works 315r

There's an unwritten rule in Road Racing that says you sell a bike as you raced it and don't take any of the trick bits off - most bikes change hands immediately after the last race of the season. Just as well that doesn't extend to Trials - I took all the 'trick' off and sold the bike as standard, then everything else I sold seperately - it found homes all over the globe. Mainly as no one would really understand the value of the bike with the bits on. So sadly it no longer exists in this state.

    Mot Regs

You don't need a speedo for the MOT. But you do need a continuous tone horn. Get a battery powered cycle horn from Halfords. Number plate needs to be regulation size, check with VOSA.

    Works 315r

I had a play at creating a high spec. 315 in the past. Spent lots of time and too much money on it. Across 3 or 4 bikes I tried the 280 conversion, Keihin, VHST, various Mitani Parts, Titanium fixings, polished frame, RTL stickers, etc etc. The 'real' works bikes are very different to what I achieved, I think everything bar the frame is different by the time the bike took Fuji to the WTC in 2004. A few 'specials' have been in circulation, but I would guess that the only place you'll find a genuine works 315 in the British Isles is in the Isle Of Man. The pic is of my '02 in its final clothes. From memory here's the spec: Carbon fork guards & mudguard stay by Jitsie Carbon airbox lid, carbon fuel tank and alloy silencer by Mitani Motosport (Japan) Tank & headlamp paint by Wizardpaintwerks Porting by Haven Headlamp unit by Gonelli Front Master Cylinder by Nissin Front brake hose by Goodridge Frontpipe by Aeffe racing factory - Italy Boyesen reeds & straight pipe by Trialzone Rear Brake Pedal by LewisportUSA Footrest mounts by Peter Schwarz Footpegs by Hebo Titanium Fixings on everything

  6. What's the order for the plates ? I see there are 3 different friction types. Thanks!
  7. I heard that Wayne Braybrook had also been trying the softer map. I could have done with it yesterday! Watched someone ride my bike to, and you notice how the wheel spins very easily when they release the clutch. I find I use a lot more rear brake even when de-clutching to try and get a smoother take off - where a 2T seems better. I rode a 315 for comparison yesterday. A set of Mitani clutch plates hit my door mat this morning, so will be very interested to see how they go. Is the softer map on the HRC disk ? Or was it something that Dennis had played with. I'm also interested to hear where his tick over was?
  8. 'Reports of My Demise Are Greatly Exaggerated' A bit early to be writing the big fella off. Bou took some real chances, especially on the Fag Packets/Cusworths section in the final - when he came off the first combination of boxes, I thought it was going to be a hospital bed for him and not a podium. He held on to it and won. It didn't look like Dougie was up for damaging his entire season, only 7 days into it, ditto for Fuji. Has to be said that there is always going to be an issue for the GB lads having no indoor champs. Maybe a few up and comings could get a blast a the easier sections in the interval at Sheffield ? Would give them some exposure to the big occassion!
  9. I didn't see a press release on this, but haven't checked Reuters or PA recently. I know that he has switched brands and continues his winning ways, I think that it must have been his significant personal sponsors that make him a valuable asset to GG. Also gives them another Centre Championship Title
  10. I rode with Renthal fatbars on my Pro and found them OK. I'm also 6'1 and they felt just right, I don't know how the bend/height compares with the Std Hebo bar. I understand that the Fatbar is equivalent to a 5" Renthal braced bar - maybe someone can confirm this ? I'd recommend heating up the clamp a little before you tap out the pin, it certainly makes it easier and will reduce the risk of damage/fracture. You need three hands when you put them back on
  11. Not guilty! and I have definitely been knocked off the position of riding the most blinged up Montesa in the SM Centre, a post I have held for a good number of years. A little bit down but not out.... Can't wait to show off my new lid
  12. Depends on which gearset you have, I have: 16T Engine Sprocket 14T Gearbox 54T Rear Sprocket WR Gearset with Serco 2nd Gear Makes bottom and 2nd quite useable. I also have an R cam fitted. Seems to be able to deal with most things, don't know about the springs being heavier. I think they are std but the tappet setting is tighter. Dellorto works well to, but you might need to change this depending where you're riding.
  13. The Bosis Team site has a pic of the throttle body here: http://www.bosisteam.com/images/categorie_...s/M-003_002.jpg Not sure if this is the same as the Sandiford part, rough currency conversion puts it at
  14. The kit gets mentioned in the Montesa Day report on the front page. The marketing spiel goes like this: Performance Tuning Kit For competition riders who want the freedom to electronically tune the COTA 4RT

    4 Rt Silencer

I've not seen or heard the WES system over in the UK. I don't know who or where its been tested, but there's been no advertising or press reports
  17. So regarding the offer of a transfer to a TMX subscription or DBR subscription. Is there any reason why DBR can't contain some quality trials content ? It didn't have any in the last copy I looked at, why can't TrialsWorld be run as a sub-publicationin with Dirt Bag Rider ? Surely that helps DBR with readership, we get some form of YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE, and the MXers get some education. WIN/WIN/WIN scenario. However I wouldn't sign up to the transfer without a commitment from DBR for X pages of trials content in each issue at least to the end of the transfered subscription.
  18. Watched the 05 review last night and can't say anything positive about it. A waste of

    '06 4rt

How's the clutch on the '06 ? Anyone know if they have changed the pack materials ? I think you only get the '05 manual with the '06 bike, so that's less than helpful, i.e. show same part codes.
  20. Maybe this means less dilution of the trials coverage in MX news, sorry that's TMX. I can't help thinking that a lot of stuff has been held back recently to put in Trialsworld. At least through Andy's fine efforts we don't have to rely on paper copy to be kept up to date !
  21. I bought my lad a Monty 205 PR at 5.5 yrs - he found it hard to ride at first as the cranks are very much longer than on 'normal' kiddies bikes. Also he used to sit down to push off, so had to get used to standing and starting. He's finally got the hang of it now, and its a great little bike. A bit expensive, but supposed to last through to 8-9 years. I changed the pedals back to plastic, the bear traps that come as standard were making a very lasting impression on his shins. Cleanbikes were very helpful.
  22. They come up on eBay every so often, but I tracked one down via these guys: http://www.tigercubspares.co.uk/ They do all the mainland autojumbles and will look out for parts that are hard to find for you. Might charge you a few pennies though.
  23. I know the later RL250N, which was similar to the 325 Frame and engine had a tail pipe as standard. But the earlier bikes (Red & Black, or Yellow) that you have that used the TS250 based engine didn't have a tail pipe silencer. I have an old B&W picture of mine after it went yellow, with the WES aftermarket pipe on. Will try and scan it in when I'm at home over the next couple of days. They also had almost transparent white mudguards fitted as standard. Don't get me wrong yours is the tidyest one I have seen for a long time, I'm just clearing my memory out from what I remember of the bike.
  24. A really nice example. The exhaust looks right to me - I had a black and red Beamish in '78, (then turned it yellow in '79, including fitting the yellow 325 guards) The pipe finished just behind the rear shock, no tail silencer as standard. WES made a tail silencer back then but it was a slightly different shape, from memory it made the power a bit softer and the bike a lot quieter Only thing I can spot is the original bike had black fork boots.
