  1. I think that Mick had a similar incident last year sometime, although I forget the exact detail - I believe that the front brake jammed on and the fork slider broke.
  2. We were worried that we might be needed for some CPR
  3. Get the Balance Right - Depeche Mode
  4. I like the following footage with Fuji emptying the water from his boots, Pep must have got a bit wet. I think Amos takes a soaking the previous day - tough life being a minder! Talking of which I read that ML had his bike stolen at the TDN - any news on this ?
  5. Did the price include P&P ??
  6. If you can set it up then they work well, however had one on a Gasser and a Mont and they don't work as well as the Keihin PWK. I would say that the power is similar to the Keihin, but just not as 'crisp' - the Keihin responds really well to adjustment, for some reason the VHST doesn't respond so well, making it more difficult to set up.
  7. I noticed that he's adopted the legendary Rossi 'WLF' logo on his lid now....... If you don't know what it means, then search in Google and probably best not to post the answer back on here unless you want your post deleted

    Misc Stuff

Indeed they are - having fitted the Fatbars and clamps to an 03, 40mm centres from memory.
  9. In the light of the fact that these aren't the '06 bike, does that suggest that these are the remainder of the '05 production run ?
  10. I don't think he's on email - but he's very good at answering the phone.
  11. Check out the Rules Are Rules thread.
  12. Agreed. I watched Colomer playing on the bank opposite the GG truck - he started with some MX style jumps, then some 270 degree flick turns. Very quickly a few folk gathered, then Taddy, the little Dani and Friexa's Minder Didac and a couple of the other Spanish RFME guys joined in. Neatest trick was Taddy hopping down the slope forwards, on the backwheel. What was clear is that they all enjoyed the attention of the crowd. The crowd enjoy the impromtu display.
  13. I thought it had seized at the time. I was thinking how does he get out of that and it right in front of the factory truck. But Colley just started kicking it over until it ran
  14. I learned that this is next years must have trials accessory
  15. I read and understood the comments from John Collins the other day regarding an ACU Youth Squad. But when you see the RFME (Royal Federation Motorcycles Espania ??) French and Italian set ups it makes you think what else could be done ? We have lots of talent in our current A & B stars, perhaps more so currently than over the past five years where only Sam, Shaun and now James Dabill have broken through. There's at least half a dozen riders who should be hitting the Youth Cup next year on a regular basis - but the biggest issue has got to be funding it. There's a real lack of external financial support in trials, in fact in motorcycling in general in the UK. I don't mean free bikes and bits, these are great but they don't get you across the Atlantic or pay your fuel and food while you are on the road in Europe, or for the time off work. I know for a fact that a major sponsor in in BSB, paid less than 2% of their F1 sponsorship to get title sponsorship and massive TV coverage. They thought it was an absolute bargain and tried to see how little they could put in to get the coverage !! What financial support is about comes from within the sport, from the true enthusiasts who see talent and want to see it succeed at the highest level. Trials isn't going to get lottery funding, mainstream TV, Olympic recognition in the foreseeable, so without doing something radical or totally different I doubt the situation will change. I still come back to the 'Racing for Britain' concept that launched a number of F3 careers in the late 70s, when the foreign drivers with all the sponsor dollars kept dominating the F3 Championship and making their way up to F1 as a result ( anyone remember a guy called Senna ) it was effectively a charity that accepted donations from individuals and corporates in order to fund British drivers in what effectively was the stepping stone to an F1 seat. Johnny Herbert, Martin Brundle and Johnathon Palmer were all RfB supported Can the same principle not be tried to improve the funding of our youths / juniors ? 'Trials for Britain' If there was a pot to throw a pound or two in yesterday to support our youth effort how much would it have raised ? Would folk be prepared to set up a standing order of a few pounds per month and put it in the pot ? Would people support fund raising events, buy merchandise, that generate hard cash to launch the young riders onto the world stage ? If RfB was used as a model then for example: Throughout the year, Trials for Britain, would hold a number of promotions and fund raising events around the United Kingdom. Involving the Youths themselves, clubs, local businesses, etc. Trials for Britain would have a full line of souvenirs and clothing that will be marketed through advertising and promotions, as well as wholesaled to clubs, series, and riders for resale. TfB will be soliciting businesses to advertise in a newsletter/web site, "Trials for Britain". TfB would be present at Motorcycle shows, British Rounds, Euro Rounds, and WTC shaking the tin can and getting the change out of peoples pockets. The backbone of this concept is personal donations into the fund on a regular basis, this doesn't bring more money into the sport, it gives the opportunity to those who would like to help, yet doesn't penalise those who don't. My thinking is that if I gave one of the young riders
  16. Lampkin and Fuji were the only two to get close to getting out of the scrubbed section 12 on lap 1. Both set off up the hill at full chat - bloody awesome. Sounded like a 450 !
  17. Positives: I think L&M and did a great job 'bringing trials home' - there were problems but it was very professional for a first time event. The public voted with their feet - there needs to be a British WTC round every year. I'm sure next year will be bigger and better. Ditto thoughts on the toilets issue - although I used the green tin sheds on the MotoX track - porcelain, toilet paper and a good through draft. Plus very little traffic R2W didn't poison me, I managed that myself courtesy of the Guiness brewery. A mention must go to the Youths, fantastic rides from Ross Danby and Sam Haslam. Good to see so many Brits having a crack at the sections, excellent experience of riding on the World Stage in front of a massive crowd. Negatives: A real shame that Alexz Wigg couldn't be given a dispensation to ride with the Juniors on a non-scoring basis. I witnessed a few observer wobbles, not 'has he stopped, is he rolling backwards' types, but clear footing that went un-noticed. Agree that it does really need a few of us riders to put their hands up and observe, and then not take up static positions but be prepared to seek the best view of the rider at all times. It is a World Championship and there is money at stake, it needs to be right. No excuses. More could have been made of Saturday, practice was over very quickly and there was a lot of hanging around with nothing much going on. It's extra work, but how about a non-championship event along the lines of the British Experts on the Saturday PM, allow invited/selected Adult and Youth riders who would be otherwise ineligible to ride to compete on 'adjunct' sections that would be at the Youth/Junior WTC severity. Don't the Spanish have a national round on the Saturday ? Use the Catering, Beer and Stage facilities in the evenings - even get a band / entertainer on Saturday PM. The traders would have made a fortune - I'm sure they noticed. Value for Money ? Absobloodylutely
  18. They always used elf race gas in the 2 strokes and its smell is very distinctive. So probably the Repsol 4 stroke race mix ?
  19. Looks like it could be a little wet both inside and outside the TC tent on Saturday night http://www.met-office.gov.uk/lib/includes/...shrewsbury.html Fridays forecasted storms, and rain and cloud on Saturday should tee it up nicely for the Brit Pack. Unfortunately this means I'll be testing how waterproof my tent is - but only from the outside. Note to self: Pack all your waterproof gear, you may be sleeping in it !

    Fork Seals

Use the Athena OEM seals from Vesty - much better than std.
