  1. Is it just me or was anyone else expecting Dabster to tell us how many entries had been received ?
  2. Cabestany does look good on the new bke but he looked good on the 4t and I thought they were awful. I'd like to see Michael testing it properly to see how he gets on with it.
  3. HAM2 this is good info but you need to get on the bike more, how you fixed over christmas ?
  4. Most trials bikes look great on a flat drive, I was expecting some sections. dont think you can tell much from this people.......
  5. Softer rear suspension generally grips better as your changing the weight bias of the bike, also at slow speed the tyre will not leave the ground as much. However if you go too far your bike wont steer very well and the suspension will be running on the bump stop a lot of the time, this may damage the shock if your doing big stuff or riding fast between sections. Measure the spring length before you start, just wind off one full turn at a time and see how it goes.
  6. The lesbians next door asked me what I would like for my birthday. I was quite surprised when they gave me a TIMEX. It was very nice of them, but I think they misunderstood me when I said, "I wanna watch." A very confident James Bond walks into a bar and takes a seat next to a > very attractive woman. > He gives her a quick glance, and then casually looks at his watch for a > moment. > The woman notices this and asks, "Is your date running late?" > "No," he replies, "Q has just given me this state-of-the-art watch. I > was just testing it." > The intrigued woman says, "A state-of-the-art watch? What's so special > about it?"! > Bond explains, "It uses alpha waves to talk to me telepathically." > The lady says, "What's it telling you now?" > "Well, it says you're not wearing any knickers...." > The woman giggles and replies," Well it must be broken because I am > wearing knickers!" > Bond smirks, taps his watch and says, "Bloody thing's an hour fast." > > >
  7. I think thesolidman was just trying to point out that his info didnt differ greatly from yours John but the reaction he got was a lot different. I'm not trying to rattle anyones cage here by the way.

Watched the documentry on Sunday night that James May did on the moon landings. one of the early test pilots was a chimpanzee called HAM is HAM2 taken from this chimps name Wayne ? I picked a more obvious name myself, no one has met me and questioned it to be fair

  12. Suits you Sir ? Salesman from the fast show giving serious thought to a rookie next, Ive inadvertantly converted the Gasser into a rocket. on the plus side NASA might buy it......
  13. I'm pretty sure I didnt win at the first attempt or any other for that matter. But I'd be happy for Big John to correct me
  14. While we are on the subject Gas Gas Pros seem to wear the gearbox sprocket much faster than other bikes such as shercos scorpas betas, all of which I have owned in the last 7 years. anyone know why ? just the amount of grunt perhaps ?

Sounds as though the metal rod that goes through the motor could be worn. If you adjust the lever at the handlebar end does it go solid at the end of the travel ? if so remove slave cylinder but leave hose attached, pull the metal rod out and weld a small amount onto the end. you only need to increase the length by a couple of mm. change the oil before you do anything else though, may just be the wrong oil or its old. use atf dexron 3, not sure of quantity
  16. excellent I hope the weather is better than last year so he comes back the year after
  17. tried a 10 on my 280 with 42 rear but found I used second most of the time so went back to 11. virtually every section can be done in 1st and it still pulls fifth across the moors
  18. Anyone tried the Jitsie Linkage protector for the Gas Gas ? I have damaged the linkage on mine when I have caught it on rocks i have been trying to ride over and this in turn has damaged the seal allowing water to get into the bearings. I'm just wondering if that linkage protector will provide sufficient protection to prevent me doing the same again if I replace the dogbones ? cheers

What happened to Michael Brown ?
  24. Shercos do the same cope if you take one down the road for a few miles. Can be quite frustrating on the forest tracks as you just catch someone up then the bike dies ! My sherco did it at the SSDT so I put the bigger one in the gasser as soon as I got the bike
