  1. If notaddicteds bike is a mono you can get a car drain plug hex socket from Halfords. As Woody suggests the bolt head size I think you want is 14mm.
  2. In the current economic climate I was wondering which bike manufacturer would be first to be in trouble. If the French can do a deal or work it out I am sure they will. Have Yamaha got a stake in the company other than agreeing to supply engines etc ?? I suspect others may go the same way as they are supplying a mainly leisure market and with the Euro as strong as it is against the pound the prices have rocketed and they will not be shifting the bikes they once did.
  3. Yes the pipe that exits the back is about 3 or 4 " long going back inside but otherwise it is straight through. What was the benefit of this silencer if any ? Thanks.

I had my other half with me a while ago at a lock up I use and as I opened the door remembered she hadn't seen the Tlr 200 that was in there, too late now I thought. "How long have you had that one" she asked. A while now I said. Nice colour she says, can I have a go on it she says, phew I got away with that .................... Just.
  5. Got it back today and it is an S model with R plastic tank. Removed silencer it is steel, any ideas who's it may be. The welding is very neat.

It is sourcing parts, what a lot of firms do. The workers are French, that is what matters surely.
  7. There's a Tlr 200 on there selling at 2500. How did the Seeley stickers have 11 bids and sell for 99p??

Okay we can't buy a UK built trials bike but with the economy and unemployment as it is we should/ maybe are thinking more of home interests like never before . Go to France and they wouldn't dream of not buying and supporting the French workforce and they have a choice with trials bikes. Yet here we have as you mention only thought of what is cheap, and yes you get what you pay for. I like most other people have only seen the bikes mentioned XL clones etc. Time will tell I suppose. When the Japanese cracked the UK market they did it with some bikes way ahead of their time.

    There you go.

There have been clones of the old Honda XL 125 coming out of China for years, some say Honda had some money in the Chinese factories ?? The engines are not too bad apparently but the rest is rubbish, they rarely make it to the first MOT @ 3 yrs old. They were under

I think it's like a lot of things at present the euro/ pound thing and as Woody says the economic climate. Anything imported is going to rocket in price, there are a handfull of Scorpa 125s left but Birketts not scooping them up because of the poor exchange rate, they would be big money for what they are. Same goes for everything else. Pity we stopped manufacturing as when the rate is like it is we could have done well exporting (maybe not this recession) but it would have been on the back burner, and that goes for loads of other products. The Chinese have not proved themselves yet really. Yes they can knock out cheap radios, toasters etc etc all day long, but the 2 wheel products I have seen up to now have been ****e. And what they have done with the Rover left overs is a joke after BMW held on to the cream(Mini)I really like Jon Bliss's Cotswolds, one thing holding me back the Jialing motor (they have a good name) stigma maybe. I would like to see the UK turning out an affordable trials bike, not just a frame or kit to those with an open cheque book. Rant over.
  12. I didn't think it could be steel painted silver of course. I will pick the bike up Saturday. Also just noticed didn't they have the stand on the right ?? This is on the left ??
  13. Can anyone here identify the tailpipe on this ty mono. Thanks in advance.

Hey Malc do you know Brian Griffiths at Peterchurch. He always had various Bullys in kit form and spares. Look in Yellow pages you should find him.

I once bought a Kawasaki Z 1000 ST after a little too much Jacobs Creek. Whoops, late night alcohol fuelled bidding is banned now. PS That helmet Gavin is wearing looks like one of Mike Hailwoods old ones.

Is that the actual bike for sale? Looks clean. I bought one with a knackered engine to put a Tlr 200 engine in.
  17. A Tlr 200 fetched

You won't see anything by draining the oil. Have you shaken the silencer (muffler) to see if anything got out the exhaust port. Does it all turn over clean and free (not lodged in bearings )

Your best bet is to use the Search option at the top of the page. Click on search, box drops down. Type in Godden Majesty. Press GO. You will bring a page or two of info up, postings from the last 2 or 3 yrs and there is paint info in there. I can't comment on reeds except most go for Boyesen ??
  20. This is already in Anything goes section.
  21. Sachs, Rickman and Walwin also Mickmar. Is someone thinking of writing a book ??

You can either lengthen the arm down on the engine by about an inch I think, fit an arm from a late TTR125 as they are slightly longer (you will need to remove the clutch to do this) or easiest option is fit 3 way clutch lever, this will give a lighter action and allows you to experiment with the clutch 3 ways. Ebay item no 110319736534. (sorry I can't do the link)I fitted one to my Scorpa 125 and it does improve it. There is a performance clutch available fromB &J racing in the USA, try the lever first though.
  23. If you go into the Yamaha forum and the serrow trials thread you will see a Cotswold t shockj.

My Majesty is Yam framed and 1st registered Jan 78 ?? So was it converted from new or go for conversion later on ?? Woody your KT is looking good sorry didn't get time to speak at Clyro.
  25. andy m replied to copemech's topic in Yamaha
It's going to be similar to a Cotswold. The Tlr 200 had it's battery in a case hung below the top of the shock absorber, of course never had elec start so they have all removed them by now. That's a good job for the first alloy tank you have ever made though. Fair play. Cotswold for those that don't know.
