  1. The Rev 50 & 80 use the same motor as the KTM 65's built by Beta of course. You wouldn't know it from riding them though, they ride completely different as they should. Even on the KTM's cylinder there's a big "B" on them I don't see them making a trials bike for one simple reason, not enough profit
  2. We have two, the 12.5 for my three year old son and a 16 for my six year old daughter. We are really enjoying them!! My daughters bike did stop working. After messing around with a test light for about 15 min. I narrowed it down to the controller. It was a cheap and easy fix and she is off riding again. Three year old son over his first "log"
  3. I have two of them. The 12.5 for my3 year old son and the 16 for my 6 year old daughter. They can ride them on and off all day on one charge no problem, but when my 8 year old son then rides his little sisters bike WFO it will only last about an hour.
  4. Steve, I know the previous owner of your bike. While checking a section with him the first day at the Donner national I noticed he went back to a 175 Scorpa so I figured his bike went up north. He confirmed that it had, said it was too much bike for him and he was very happy with his new little Scorpa. I will say it wasn't ridden hard, glad to hear you like it. As for me I had no problem adapting to a 4t. I got mine the night before a trial and rode it the next day. My scores where about the same as always. I guess I am odd because when I rode other peoples 4rt's before I had mine they felt good from the get go. After 9 monthes now when I ride a 2t they still feel good to me, so I can still go either way. In a few years when 2t's get rare I will probably get one of those. I still haven't ridden a Sherco, but I have ridden the Scorpa & Beta. First off I can't totally speak for power as my 4rt isn't stock and they all feel a little flat (including stock 4rt's) compared to my bike. When I rode the Scorpa the first thing I noticed was the big feel of the bike geometry wise. For me this wasn't a bad thing since I hate feeling cramped on a bike. Even with the big feel the bike still turns really well with a nice tucked in front end. It started very easy! and was a very nice bike to ride. Power should be good for everybody below expert. As for the Beta the first thing that I noticed was the really quite exhaust note The next thing I noticed was all the motor noise. No big deal I guess that's just the way they are. It really was what I thought it would be like, a REV 3 with a 4t motor. I like the way Rev 3's handle & turn, but the suspension doesn't work as well as the 4rt's does for me (no bikes do for that matter). With the CV carb the bike ran really nice and clean with no hiccups even when I tried to make it hiccup. Starting was a little hit & miss for me and for some reason it didn't feel as finished as my 4rt. I don't know if that was because of the engine noise or vibration, it just gave me that feeling for some reason. So what 4 stroke to buy? I think it's the same as the 2 strokes, their all nice and if you ask a bunch of people you will get a bunch of different answers.

    Enduro Trails?

Speaking as rider who used to ride enduros I hated when the club tried to get creative and make something weird for the spectators. Now that I ride trials I might like it since I know what to do, but at the time I thought it was just a pain in the @ss. To give the spectators something to watch I liked a good man made MX track or something. Going over a car might be fun just make sure they have ramps on and off with no big steps, remember their bikes weight 75 more pounds & you have the novice riders too. Even for me at this point things that are boring on my trials bike are dang hard on my motocross bike
  6. Kind of funny, this is what was said under a picture of Kerry Williams Yeah, compared to the EX&Pro lines the support line does look like a Novice line
  7. O.K. here is the results ITS Trials
  8. I think you are all missing the obvious, who do we know that is a movie stunt man and is a old trials champion?
  9. I blew up the pictures of the pro's checks and could read the sponsors, so here they are- Motion Pro, RYP, Trials Training Center, V-Mar, TCR Wheel Lacing, Crime Scene Cycles, Lewisport, Haaker Insurance, Mav TV., Sierra BMW, Skagit Power Sports, Thin Air Motorsports & Carolina Virgina Observed Trials Club I will say I am a little disappointed, after looking at the results from Donner, of all the TC posters that rode the event, Ishy, No Jive, Bama, Throttle Jockey, & what ever Ian calls himself, I finished well behind them all Oh well I had fun
  10. John, There was more riders than that, it's just all that was in the "champ" classes. As with Tennessee there where other classes for older kids that found their age group line too challenging. I also don't want to take anything away from the TTC Youth National. Obviously I think the camp, event, & TTC are awesome or I wouldn't drive 2,200 miles to get there. In fact I think it is our most fun week of the year! Think about this though, what about the west coasters that are like you and can't make the trip? Shouldn't they have the same opportunity that you do? It only seems fair to do an East and a West. I will admit, if I lived in the middle and could only go to one it would be the TTC. The camp is great and the hole family has fun and yes it is more prestigious.
  11. Just to give credit where credit is due. The club that put the event on was the P.I.T.S. (Pacific International Trials Society) they are in Northern California. The ATA (American Trials Association) is in southern California. Having moved from North to South I am active in both clubs and they both have great people. From what they announced the PITS donated the money with the help of some sponsors. From what I can remember the sponsors included, Lewisport, Motion Pro, RYP and others I just can't remember right now. If anybody knows the rest of the sponsors please throw them out.
  12. What also needs to be mentioned is our pro riders can now be called PRO's. The size of the checks might be bigger than the dollar amount, but I don't think any body will be complaining and it is good to see.
  13. Some pictures of the terrain and area. Pictures of my kid, but you get the idea. Section 5 over looking Donner Lake The Valley with lots of trials areas Even tree sections There is also big granite slab walls that the world rounds used. They decided to keep the kids off of those.
  14. I don't think the results ever got posted anywhere. Unfortunelly again the event was small. Having the national with it seemed to not help as a bunch of the kids didn't ride it or only rode the first day to "save their energy for the national". This seemed to not help them as the two top riders in the JR class on Sat. rode all of the event and where the top two riders in the 13&under class for the Youth event. Compared to Tennessee the sections seemed tougher for all the classes. It also had a real loop for all but the 4 line riders. It was pretty rugged with no place to rest. The little 50's would of had a real tough time, but all the kids that rode did just fine. Trying to squeeze it in between the Donner national and the New Mexico national was tough. Because of this round #1 was on Thursday and rounds #2 & #3 on Friday. Basically Friday they did six loops with the same sections. First three round #2 and the last three round #3. It's hard enough to keep an 8 year olds attention span for three loops so six was real tough, especially in the high altitude and a warm day. My son lost it in the middle of the trial just thinking he was already tired yet only half way through, fortunately he got his second wind and came back strong. For the results I will go off my memory and pictures 15 & under-0 Line On the first day Eric Storz 1st, Karl Davis Jr. 2nd, Chad Redmond 3rd, Ian Delaney 4th. For the second day Eric and Ian didn't ride. Karl beat out Chad for the top youth class award. 13 & under Bo Ibsen & Ryan Sandoval once again battled it out for the win. Bo won 2 of the rounds (can't remember which) and Ryan won the other round. Chase Harker was third in round 1 and didn't ride the second day. Sorry I can't remember the other two boys names or how they did. 11 & under-2 line There was only one rider in this class. Unfortunately I can't remember this girls name. I think she was from New Mexico? I did see her ride and she rode really well and would have been right at the top of the women's #2 line in Tennessee. 9 & under-3 line Obviously the class I was most involved with since my son Ty was in it. The bad thing was there was only two riders in the class. The good thing is that the other rider Alex Tucker (Bailey Tucker's little brother) rides at the same level as Ty, so as with the Tennessee national the competition was good. On day one they both had an excellent day. Ty again started this national with a clean first day which he had to do as Alex only dropped one point. For the second day we asked to toughen up the sections, not wanting to make it tougher for the other none champ 3 line riders they decided to have them ride half of the two lines. This worked out great for both the riders. For round two Alex rode well and Ty had one bad loop giving Alex the win. For round three Alex had one bad loop and Ty rode well including a clean last loop (it only took him six tries) to take the win and the overall for the class. Unfortunately no 7 & under riders. I don't know what needs to be done to bring more riders out. For us Texas is half way to Tennessee, yet no Texas riders. This is one of the best trials areas there is, I just wish more kids would come enjoy it.

    08 Rev 3

Sounds like a lot more than just a new carb. I'm happily surprised to see a new 2t, I didn't think we would be seeing any real new 2t's with all the 4t's comimg out. Good job Beta for putting out the effort
  16. For those of you like me who normaly don't read the motorcycle "main stream press" you may have missed the nice test on the 4rt by Don Williams (aka malibu don) in the August Dirt Bike magazine . There is also a short interveiw with Geoff Aaron. Here is one of the pages, you'll have to buy the magazine for the rest. Good job Don

    Mr Vain ?

Thanks, but I can't take all the credit. This is what the bike looked like when I bought it- my bike from Lewisport - I have since added the 260cc big bore and cam. I think I like the burgundy RTL plastic the best, but it's expensive so I have a unscratched set on the shelf.

    Mr Vain ?

I was told I should post some pictures of my bike, but yours makes mine look plain I have the flat tank though
  20. They call that Nascar I'm a Nascar fan and I have tried a few times to be a F1 fan, but the lack of a good battle for the lead leaves me switching the channel.
  21. speaking of pictures, we don't have bugs like this in California. I caught it on the side of our trailer the last night we where there at the TTC. It's a Dobson Fly. Scariest bug I have ever seen
  22. That's what I was thinking. I just looked at the results on the other page and it took me a minute to find my own kids class, D3? D=9&under, 3 the line he rode. Cope, even though we never made up any formal guide lines that was the only head to head competition there was so I will pay up, I'm not one to cop out. PM me with the address. Don't expect a check right away as I am now in Missouri for a day and a half and it will take me a while to get back home. I'm not sure if my GPS sent me in the correct way, but I got to see Clarksville Tn., Kentucky, the Arch in St. Luis, and now I sit in Ozark Missouri. It's all beautiful country and it seems strange that they say they're have a drought and everything is still green, for our drought in SoCal our hills never turned green over the winter. No Mich, as I had said I would have been shocked if he was there as we haven't seen him in a while
  23. We need SIRHC to post a picture of his Montesa, (beautiful bike Chris). Maybe when I get home, right now I am still here at the TTC listening to all the teens at the youth camp play on Crowlers Wall. It was another great event and our whole family had fun. Next year I may have another rider or two in the event. I agree with what everybody has said, the Caroline's where camped next to us and they are great riders as well as very nice girls. We had Ian Delaney one of the #1 line riders stay with us and I know he tried really hard and gave it his all. I'm not sure if he was happy with second or not, but he should be proud of the way he rode, especially for only his second time at a big event. Seeing how small all the 7&under riders where I'm just glad Ty isn't a month 1/2 younger and still on the 4 line. He was already the biggest kid in the 9&under class even if he was the youngest. A few other things I like the new class structure but, they should drop the whole letter thing for the classes, and just call them 7&under, 9&under and so on. Looking at Ty's trophy that says class D you don't know what that means. Just 9&under would make more sense. I was also disappointed in no #1 plates, that was one of the coolest things. We where lucky to have Ryan Young as a instructor for two days of the youth camp. I knew he was a good teacher, I just didn't know how good. I wish my 8 year old would of had a better attention span so he could have absorbed it all. We are now off to Missouri on our way home so my wife can see a friend, the round trip was 4,400 miles what a few hundred more
  24. Cope, It was a tie between Texas and California. Josiah Mizell won the 15 & under class and Ty won the 9 & under class. Josiah did win the top class, but there was twice as many Texas kids. Anyways we are still here at the TTC. Did some site seeing yesturday and today we are off to Ozark Missouri so my wife can see a friend. It will be a while til we get home.
  25. I have to agree, never seen a picture of Smage with his shirt tucked in. Also good job Will Ibsen, moving up every round
