Just wondering why we don't see the smilies anymore? Makes it hard to read.
O.K. now I see them, whats up?
On Edit, to answer my own stupid question you have to be logged in to see the smilies.

This is another one of those terms that didn't make it across the pond. I for one had never heard of de-coking, I thought he must have meant de-corking as in removing a restrictor that come in the pipe, of course the Beta 80 has none. From the other responses I now gather he is talking about getting the carbon build up out. Do you guys over there call carbon, coke?

I can see where Hensley is coming from, I have ridden some of the kids 125's and I'm sure if I tried to do my same sections at a trial on one I would not make it up some stuff that I would on my 270, thus making it more likely I would get hurt.
-
For our pipe I just took it off cold turkey. It went threw a painful withdrawl period, but it made it threw and is now doing much better
-
I guess you swapped out the Beta for a Montesa?
It's the other way around, right side is the clutch with oil and left side is the Ignetion with no oil. Be carefull to get the o-ring back in place when you put it back togther.

I think Ron said it best this is for the kids with European aspirations. I could see my kids going eithier way, if they are very serius about trials then they would stay on a 125 to make themselves a better rider and maybe be ready for the 125 world stuff. If on the other had they just want to ride as strictly a hobbie and they have other interests such as fishing, football or girls then I would see no reason to not get them a 250 so they could just ride local events or what ever for fun. I for one am glad we don't FORCE all the kids to stay on 125's like Europe.

Right out of high school I went into the family plumbing business. I went through the apprentiship program and at 22 I became a licensed journeymen plumber. That same year I got married and my wife was in her family business which is personnel staffing. After a few years we had kids and with both of us working they where in day care. Not wanting to have somebody else raise our kids we needed to make a change, at the time we made about the same money but her job seemed to have more money in it for the future. So I am now a Stay at home Dad and my wife works. We have been doing this for almost five years now and works great for us. My wife now runs the company and has five offices.
It is interesting that I am doing this since I am a total blue collar guy and never even held a baby until mine. I also thought being home all day I would have plenty of time to do stuff, but I can't get anything done weather it be work on the bike or what ever I want to do and some days the kids drive me so nuts that I just want to go back to crawling under houses and fixing pipes, it's all worth it though. I have also joked that we had our last kid so I could have job secerity We have also said that she makes the money and I spend it.
A picture of my job.

Just wondering whats in the secret department and how do you get in?
-
I just had this in the Beta section, but since you asked....
I'm working on getting a new bike that is "pimped" out even more
-
I have gone back and forth between having Beta's and Montesa's, I like them both very much. In this case I don't see it as a upgrade at all. I don't know the actual weights of the bikes but having ridden both in the past I can tell you they feel about the same when you ride them. Your Techno is a good bike and as someone else stated just wait until you can get a new or newer bike.

Are those Arkansas plates? Looks like red neck driving to me

Sorry, I meant to reaply to you in the Beta section I just hadn't got around to it yet On my son's seventh birthday I got him a Beta 80 and since his was still a little short for it I got him a complete set of smaller wheels that come on the 50. They lasted exactly two rides before I took them off. The problem is they don't have real trials tires in that size, just the cheap Ching Chin tires and they get no traction at all, his rear end was slipping around even here where we have big grippy rocks! He does much better with the full size tires. I do have a complete set of wheels that I would sell cheap, of course that does you know good since you have a Gas Gas and live in Australia. Sorry I couldn't be more help. I would really recommend sticking with the full size tires though.

Thanks, I looked there but mine has no choices in the subscriptions area.
-
Maybe I am blind but where do I go to pay my fee to be a Trials Central Supporter? I use it enough I think it would only be fair. Plus I want one of those cool little logos
-
How funny, I was about to make a phone call today to ask the same question. Thanks, Sarah and Barry
-
Looking threw some old pages and I came across this I am ashamed to admit this is the funniest thing I have seen in a long time. I have watched it about ten times and it cracks me up every time
-
Your being stupid well you asked. Really though it is a perfecly competive bike. I have a new Beta and I am sure if I rode a 1999 Beta given a little time to get used to it my score would be the same as with my new bike. Go have fun with it
-
What is text talk? I want to make sure I don't do it
-
I will totally agree with that, that is why I now have a Beta again. Make sure you ride one first! If you like it then great
-
I had a 06 Sherco 290 and the thing that I did really liked about the bike was the motor once I dropped the counter shaft by one tooth, the power was very smooth and revved out nicely. I have ridden a friends 05 250 Sherco and I didn't like the power at all (sorry Mike), too soft off the bottom so you have to rev it and then of course that is not as smooth as using good low RPM power. Of all the bikes I have ridden the 290 Sherco has the power that I like the best, that is as I said above with the smaller counter shaft sprocket

Lifting shirts? I'm sorry I just don't get it Here in the good old U.S.A. fag is a not very nice way of saying a gay guy. So the part where he" carefully had a fag" made it sound like he was in San Fransisco. (that is like the gay capitol of the U.S. for those that don't know)
SO WHAT DID HE MEAN BY FAG IN HIS STORY?
-
I found the first post very funny, so what does fag mean over there? Maybe I don't want to know it makes a much better story if I don't know
-
If the switch is true I am guessing a RYP sweep and not a Sherco sweep
-
Check out Lane's world, both Pip and Ringo got ten votes this last weekend
As for the question I'll go with Doc and say Montesa
-
As for the rear axle I would say yes that is a five as long as it was both legs, but I was pretty forgiving this last weekend when guys where pushing up the sandy hill in my section
When I checked a national last year I was told both wheels must cross the same line for it to be a five, not just one.
