  1. most family cars have between 50 -75kg on nose weights, thats from polo to mondeo size cars, (newer mondeos i think are allowed 90 kg) if you want to be safe as well as legal with a bike rack you need have a 4x4 of some type as these normally have nose weights of 100kg+ also remember that you have to allow for the weight of the rack as well as the bike, i use both racks and a 1 bike trailer,,, best bet on short distances is a trailer, but as im going to Fort Bill next week bike will be going on Rack (nissan x-trail 100kg on nose)
  2. dont you mean featherlite just think of the weight savings

    Beta Insurance

have a look on forums this has been covered many times !!! got my Evo insured through Carole nash dont recommend that you insure as a Rev insurance companies dont need much of an excuse to refuse payouts
  4. this has been covered many times carolle nash insured my evo give them a ring
  5. as i said its not my decision to not allow minders into the section but i will make a judgement on the day, if there is any question of rider safety in a section then it will be a no brainer of allowing a minder/catcher. as observers we have to work within the rules set out by the governing body Minders / Team officals in section had got out of hand with way too many of them in the sections, so with a little sense by all this ruling can be worked with by allowing only 1 Minder in the section only when there rider is attempting it,
  6. yes i agree that if the section requires a minder then they should be allowed into the section, i was told that there was to be no observers allowed by the person in charge of organising the observers for the British round, but its up to the observer, if they dont think that a minder is needed in the section they dont have to allow them in, Myself i will make a judgement when i see my section,
  7. not sure what you are trying to say on this, have you ever observered at WTC ? i have at the last 3 Hawkstones so i have seen first hand what the riders/ minders and all other helpers try and get away with.
  8. why should any observer have to put up with a bit of hassle, NO observer should be given any hassle for doing this job, I for one am sick and tired of turning up at my clubs trials, after helping set them out, chasing around for observers and then having to give up my ride for everyone else's enjoyment, there are lots of riders who ride week in week out who would never think of picking up the board, but moan like hell when there isn't enough observers for the trial, i firmly believe that all riders should have to do the duty at least once a year, its a shame its not mandatory to get your ACU licence
  9. [ Good un, I wonder if they are Banty's or Red Leghorns. dont care but can i have a dozen eggs please
  10. stopping riders/minders/ mechanic/others going into the sections should make the observers job a bit easier!! you need eye's in the back of your head with all that lot in the section trying to distract the observer so that others can move rocks etc, then when rider is attempting section they stand in your line of sight to distract you especially at a tricky part, they all no every trick in the book and belive me trying to concentrate for the duration of the trial isn't easy with all that going on around you. still woudn't miss it for anything and plus i get to ride my bike up and down the course for the weekend nuth said
  11. been told to use a hot air gun to warm the hub up and bearing should nearly fall out dont know how succesfull it is but the guy who told me this is a mechanic by trade and a well known pre65 rider
  12. I was informed by the organisers for the british round, as i will be one of the many observers on the BEN, cannot wait should be real good fun
  13. also no minders allowed in the sections !!! sounds like a lot of issues with running out of time or it will stop a lot of hopping and bopping in the sections, could make for a very interesting season, will be interesting to see how well the top lads convert to riding non-stop ? hopefully the section builders will take this time limit into account and keep them realistic somehow i dont think so !!
  14. there is a small bolt on the gear lever just undo that and the lever will slide of the splined gear shaft really simple and no more than a 2 minute job
  15. when i spoke with Bennetts they said they would ask for it to be put on the data base, but the process would take months so dont hold your breath
  16. shame i didn't kow about it sooner, it would have been a good option
  17. could be worse try dealing with Bennetts, they wont even discuss anything to do with the EVO'S,,, if its not on there data base its tough,
  18. got paperwork through today as is well insured as an beta evo 250
  19. try contacting birketts they might be able to help
  20. as soon as the paperwork comes through i will let you know,,,,they are telling me that its insured as an evo so hopefully all will be ok
