  1. 300 GAS GAS wont kill you but will probably scare you to death, mite be better with a 250-200 if you have not rode a modern trials bike
  2. i believe that if the tyres have a E mark on them, this makes them road legal , michelin tyres also state that NOT FOR ROAD USE IN USA & CANADA but are legal within europe, Dunlop 803 do not have the E number on them so not sure if road legal
  3. LOCTITE 601 if you can get hold of it this works well

    Older Vs Newer

2001 bike was first of the SY models and there has been lots of changes from this to 05 spec, certainly much better suspension and a few engine tweaks, looks wise there is not much changed other than colours, 05 much better choice, others on site will have better idea of changes made model to model, but if you want a bike which needs very little attention and is easy to work on then Scorpa's a good choice.
  6. I had a 03 sy absolutely brilliant bike easy to work on and never had any major problems with it in 2 years, rear suspension is very good and maintenace free only changed to beta due to the fact that the importer at the time was rather crap with his aftercare service, if Birkett had been importer in then i would still be on them. and the new 08 model looks ACE
  7. Hi if you are in UK dont worry about it as John Lampkin is brilliant with warranty jobs mine went on my 05 model and the bike was over 12 months old and he still fixed it under warranty, he even changed the jets in carb for me and only charged me for the jets, buy beta you wont regret it
  8. its well signed posted from all directions around Pately bridge i would presume coming from Leeds you will come up the A61 to RIPLEY then take the B6165 to SUMMERBRIDGE turn right up hill onto HARTWITH BANK which takes you right up to BRIMHAM ROCKS, but will be well signed from most diretions.

  11. full results on bradfordtrials.co.uk browny won
  12. ive observered at the last 2 hawkstone trials and will be there this year again but as for the minders standing in front of the observer's this does happen a lot, both years ive had to tell minders to move out of my way so that i can clearly see the rider, and its amazing how many cannot understand you when you tell them to shift !!!! in 2005 one minder nearly shoved me of a 20 ft drop, most minders will try all the tricks in the book to obstuct your view and to alter the serverity of the section (especially the italians). yes we need the minders as the section's can be very extreme and when you are stood on a small ledge looking down on were the riders are coming up some of the sections look impossible and very dangerous, but its got to be 1 rider 1 minder not as the normal 1 minder and 5 mechanics!!!!!! in the section.
  13. well its one way of doubling the skodas value
  14. depends on how much you want to spend but dont buy a vee rubber they are crap ive tried all the others and haven't noticed much difference in dry conditions but if you ride in lots of slippery conditions (mud) IRC work very well got a dunlop on at moment which seems pretty good and a lot cheaper than michelin and irc
  15. Hi THE RACKS ARE A GREAT AND CHEAP WAY OF TRANSPORTING YOUR BIKE AROUND AND AS LONG AS YOU STRAP THE BIKE ON SAFELY YOU WILL HAVE NO PROBLEMS, THERE IS LOTS OF INFORMATION REGARDING THIS MATTER IN THE FORUMS.
  16. that will teach him riding a GASGAS should have stuck with a SCORPA they get the grip down Nice one DAN made my Day glad to see even you can cock up
  17. i had a 03 scorpa for 2 years and regulary dropped it (crap rider) never had a problem with tank and never heard of anyone else having problems either, smells like bull 5h1te to me very good and reliable bike.
  18. i didnt think they brought out the sy model until 2001 anyway !!!!! and didnt that have completly different forks than on picture
  19. if i rememeber correctly the type approved doesn't mean you cannot tow with a punto but that the towbar is not built to the standards for offical testing approval that most new car towbars are tested to have a look on towsure website i believe that there is some info regarding this matter
  20. you may find that you are breaking the law by carrying your bike on a punto as i think that you are only allowed to have 50kg of nose weight on the tow bar (check the info with Fiat) i mite be wrong, bigger cars generally have a allowance of 75kg ie Ford Mondeo and such like. the nose weight is the maximum downward force/weight allowed on the tow bar and car and if exceeded this could invalidate your warranty and cause serious damage to the car. Also PC PLOD could prosecute you if he decided to be fussy. there is a recomendation that when towing anything that you do not tow more than 85% of the towing vehicles kerbside weight THIS IS NOT LAW but only a guide line but the nose weight should never be exceded, the manufacturers specify the maximum weight the vehicle is allowed to tow and on some vehicles this can be less than 85% of the weight so always check
  21. last i heard was that the land owner was being summonsed to court for letting riders practice on the land, but haven't heard anything more, there could also be another excellent piece of land being lost in the same area soon as well,
  22. ive had both betas and scorpa's both very good bikes yes had problem with stator on beta but not a problem as lampkins just change them under warranty so dont worry if you decide to go with Beta as normally very reliable, build quality on scorpa's are very good
