  1. Let us know how you get a long with it!
  2. It's meant for a fun day for everybody. If we did it all the time it might not be fun!
  3. Exactly, we do the 5 as easiest and the 1 gate the hardest. This makes it equal for riders across the board. We do this about twice a year.

  5. We popped the waterpump seal at a 80 mile 80 section 2 days trials with average elevation 9500 ft. And yes I know riders that have bought more than 4 new Trs's our club has about 20% Trs's now which is about the same for Montesa. Our best rider has been on a trs since 2019 now. But then again he was a great bike trials rider. ( He has gone to the world championship ) 3 of us that rode Trs's bought new cota 301's We have 125 years of riding together and alot of serious riding in. All of us had the same opnion. I still think the trs was a great addition to the trials community. Great bike, with less quirks than most.
  6. In the loose stuff the Trs has a mind of it's own. All of a sudden it takes off, but I would still be clean. The Beta is rock solid in a section, besides it still has the best ground clearance and fuel range. In my 51 years of trials I have owned more Beta"s than any other brand, and I have had them all. Good luck in your decision. Every time I see my 2016 Beta factory at an event, I wonder what I was thinking.
  7. By the way I did ride the 300 rr for about 9 months until my Montesa 301 finally showed up. I did give the TRRS a fair try. I went from too light a front end to too heavy! I would have bought a 300 Gold instead of the Montesa, but the front end was just to vague and did not inspire confidence.
  8. All Trs issues here. https://www.advrider.com/f/threads/calling-out-trs-owners-questions-things-to-share.1288338/ It does do most things better than a Beta. If I ever buy a 2 stroke again it would be a Beta. Hopefully Beta upgrades the Evo soon.
  9. I talked my son into having the first TRS in our club. Great bike except two things. The front end is too light, which causes it to push. They also tend stall for whatever reason. Mechanically sound, but still having water pump seal issues and the air filter is not as easy to get to as it should be. At your age the e button might be great, but the Trs is the easiest starti ng bike without it.
  10. M.B. probably knows. I need to ask him next time I see him!
  11. In 1968 it was the first year of the trials bike. Which the model was Cota. What cota meant in 1968, is probably different now. On the plus side my new german shephard puppie is named Cota.
  12. At the moment International shipping is not happening. My order from the 9th is still in the same spot. And I do order from the UK all the time. The uk is great for brake pads, levers and sprockets, and hydraulics. If you want something fast in the usa its trials super store. If you want a better looking site. Its the trials store. If want something hard to find try the tryals shop.
  13. Everyone should have a spring puller. You do not need the inner spring.
  14. Ride what makes you happy, but the newer bikes are easier to ride and softer on an old body. I am 63, ridden trials for 51 years. I have plenty of old bikes. We have a vintage club that I have always supported, but I ride my modern bike instead of a proper vintage. The club would not exist, without the modern class riders. The old bikes just beat you to death, but a lot can be learned on a twin shock.
  15. The older bikes the plates would stick every morning. Once unstuck the bike worked fine all day. You just had to warm them up, maybe ride a few minutes with the clutch in. You might be chasing your tail, being that was normal. I loved my '97. Still got Dougies pic on the wall.
  16. Yep, thats been in the works for awhile. An A.I. transponder. The sport of trials does not need to be more complicated!
  17. By the way, I use the slotted timing screw to fill the oil. It works better to replace it with the CSP cap. You can see it in my last pic. I changed my oil last night and remembered.
  18. Putting on an event is hard enough. Broadcasting is another story. Chances are Jitsie or another source will actually record it, edit it and make it worth watching. Live events are not always entertaining to watch.
  19. Are your main bearings bad? Put the flywheel back on and see if you have some play.
  20. What you should do is put the spring to the same length as the stock one was when bought and go from there.
  21. I did the full carbon fiber case covers, after a friend cracked the left side case by the oil passage at the top. Hairline crack, but he had to get towed back to the pits.
  22. The stock guard is fine. I waited six months for my bike and in the mean time bought all the CSP bling except the foot peg brackets. The frame at the brackets is the weakest link of the whole bike. Better to bend the stock bracket. The bolt was just long enough to add a nut to. To change the oil filter just back off the bolts and remove the small rubber along the case. I silicone the pad back in place.
