  1. It seems most products come with little or no directions nowadays. I like the bolt length idea. It would be very easy to check just by a head to head comparison.
  2. Half of our state has had record snowfalls lately. Luckily our main riding ares are still almost dry. I had to dig through 3 foot of snow to get the bikes out. My Honda civic is the snow pile in the middle.
  3. Yeah, I noticed when I put my Zero`s through my calf. 3 layers of stitches and a drain.
  4. The new bikes move much better than the `04 ever did. You can and should replace the spring. But hopping is all about timing, have someone that can hop try your bike first.
  5. Japan would be the best place to find the 4 stroke Yamaha. They were the only rider`s that liked it. I`ve only ever seen one.
  6. 10nm = 89 lb/in I would get new washers and O-rings from Ryan and do 90 inch lbs and call it good.
  7. My godson got a 2015 200 last year and improved ten fold and was just killing it. At the last minute he changed his mind for a 250 this year. Will be interesting how it goes.
  8. I can understand this mod as hard as a std Bull clutch can be. Only downside in our vintage club is you would have to ride with a different class of bikes. Not a deal killer. Very nice looking considering it`s using the same case. How long have you used it?
  9. We just got two 2016 std models this last week. Morad rims, god knows who made the hubs (not Honda). The new Dunlops on the Montesa measure 4.25 inches at the widest point. Well within FIM rules. With three 2005 4rt`s sitting next to the bikes with a combo of Dunlop 803`s (old style) a Michelin and one with an Irc. Tire width is seemingly identical. Only changes between the years, suspension, brakes, fuel tank and plastics and wheels. The frame appears to be slightly altered, but did not do any measurements. The S3 bars, new foot pegs and brackets are a nice touch. Still a great deal for a clubman rider buying a bike to use for more than a few years. Cannot wait to actually ride a 300.

    Chipped Tooth!

A picture would be most appropriate for this before further damage. When the teeth meet the primary, there is only so much area meshing with that smaller gear. I think you answered your own question best. But before you spend too much money, you need to wonder how this could of happened. Foreign object, out of alignment, bad transmission shaft bearings, bad main bearings. Just how much work are you chasing. The `99 techno was a bullet prove bike, is this bike just tired? Good luck.
  11. No, your knees are suckin` in a so are your elbows!. Proper stance is the most important thing for a new rider. You never ever stand straight.
  12. You are just a little twisted up, try this.
  13. Before hydraulics and bikes made to break, we spent a lot of time doing silly antics while balancing. We used to use a rock or a rubber strap to hold the front brake locked on. That would enable us to change positions on the bike. Stand on the seat, balance backwards, walk over to the bars and stand on the front fender and then come back. Of course everybody has seen Debbie Evans doing her famous head stand routine. My favorite as a kid, I would score a section while the whole time balancing my bike. Have fun with it.
  14. You balance just as you would do a proper turn. Start with bike full lock,(l or r) front brake on, knees bent weight to the outside, shoulders pointed towards where you are going. You actually weight your pegs to maintain balance, you are supposed to turn with the pegs anyhow, not by the bars. Practice both directions, don`t just favor one side. Keep at it till you can go 15-20 minutes easily. Then you will be ready to start hopping the front.
  15. Perfect time for an oil change.

We actually have quite a few riders that had 4rt`s and now have 4t`s instead. We also have a large 4rt population compared to most clubs, mainly due to being brainwashed. They ride them because it is a Honda, Not for how well they actually work. Funny, my boss`s son just got another 4rt (2016), but his only win in the Expert came on a borrowed Beta 4T. Brainwashed.

  19. The older Beta`s were quite known for shearing the key. Should just be a new key and leaving the timing alone.
  20. You might remove the silencer and see how it runs before jumping to conclusions. A plugged up exhaust is very similar.

  22. If you watch the film, they are adjusting out the free play which would help eliminate clutch drag. Them some bright fella`s over there!
