Explanatory note to December 29:
Indeed, you may have noticed the day on which this news was published, December 28, the feast of the Holy Innocents, a day equivalent to "April Fools Day" in Great Britain, with which this was the joke that this year we have prepared in Todotrial. Of course, the idea of the Veterans World Cup is beautiful and… some of the jokes we made in the past at Todotrial became reality, such as the resurgence of Ossa !!! Happy Holidays!!!

Just because it looks good does not make it right. I would try home made gasket to fix it or the original cap before buying a tank.
-
Depends on what you mean locked up. If it is just fuel, drain your tank. Remove the head pipe. Remove the spark plug. Kick it slowly, with the kill button pushed. At this point you could turn the bike upside down to get it to drain. Be careful with all the fuel and fumes. If it still is locked up it is possible you bent the rod.
-
The primary gearing is the same as the 125. Same stroke as the big bikes. It has the highest stock compression ratio. A very well thought out mix of a trials bike.
-
It does not just slide out. You would have to had crashed or picked the bike up by the exhaust. I would remove it, clean it up and add silicone to the lip all the way around.
-
Before you start spending any money, I would remove the ball from the gas cap vent. They are known to stick, and you don`t actually need it.
-
It is the vent on the Gas cap, remove the ball. Leave just an open vent like we did for years. Do it. don`t waste your time! We were in the middle of an 80 mile two day event when we had to do this fix,

Thats a newer video from a class within the last year. He is showing a technique that he has been pushing lately, the bucking bronco or somethong like that. He started pushing that dumb way of riding due to the fact 60% of his students will never get the timing right of a proper jap zap.
The reason it is dumb, just try that on a wet log vs using a proper jap zap of landing the rear tire on top of the log.
-
Most of the problems are caused my non trials riders learning to do advanced moves without ever riding organized trials and mixing the moves up without knowing the primary purpose of each move and then making a training video about it. Then also the terminology is different world wide.
Roll up is used on 90% of things you ever ride.
The double blip came along as a means to get the old heavy bikes with non working suspension up and over an obstacle that otherwise you would hit your skid plate. First blip is the front wheel coming up, you kiss the front wheel off the obstacle and at the same time is the second blip to clear the skid plate. Then it was discovered to use the compression in your favor and physically jump with your body and hence it was really a bunny hop you did at the end.
The Jap Zap came along about the time of the monos became watercooled and the suspension just started to get better. To truly get the suspension to work, you would hit the obstacle hard and low to get the suspension to fully compress and add into it the clutch dump and the bike would truly lift over an undercut that was unridable before. You would have to hit so low, that you thought you would crash. I know as I smashed my nuts all the time learning to do this move on my brand new `92 Beta Zero.
It`s good to understand the history and time line from all this. As you now know the moves have all been mixed together nowadays. That`s because the bikes have got better and better. You now can zap off of just about anything as the suspension works so good on modern bikes. But it is still all about timing.
The splatter is just a jump into a wall or obstacle with the rear wheel leading the way. It can be done with speed, momentum from the clutch, from a stand still with a clutch dump, off a kicker, and the really good riders can do it off flat ground. Mainly you just need the balls to do it. But that is why its called a splatter, if you miss you will splat all over the ground.
-
It could be an air leak or venting/fuel issue.
-
THOSE forks came off a 92 or 93 gasser. Look at the disc.
-
I was alwayd told you need the bigger header pipe when you do the big bore kit. So did you do the work yourself?

Better than the clown orange.

The Beta 300 turns better, has better ground clearance. Build quality is just as good as the Montesa. My son had one with a full arrow exhaust, which made in run real good. The Beta carb is a pain to work on. I had to rejet constantly. We ride from 2500ft to over 10,000 ft, so as a Dad I talked my son into the Montesa. Mainly because my fingers don`t work like they used too. Less labor is better at this point of my life.
-
The real good riders do not need a kicker!
-
I fixed one worse than that on a zero. I used JB weld. Last time I saw that bike run was about the ten year mark from when I fixed it. But if it was MY bike, I would replace the case while you could still get parts.
-
260 is the new std on Montesa. Otherwise they are pushing 300`s.
-
A standard Beta 250, since you have not ridden in a long time. It is the most forgiving. The standard Montesa would be next, but is not as forgiving as you would think. The electric start TRS could be a consideration, but everything happens faster on this bike.
-
My son doing a splatter from a dead stop.
-
Your film is correct, but what you wrote on here is wrong. Splat is short for splatter, because if you miss you will be splattered all over the ground! The zap came along when our suspensions were not as good as today. The double blip was just an extension of the roll up. The roll up will get you over 90% of what mere mortals ride as long as you `kiss` the front tire off the top of the obstacle to clear the skid plate.
-
Usually the problem is a new owner. What have you done to it?
Turn the idle up and try it again.

Read this whole thread for ideas before you start. Ps. Pull the clutch actuating arm out and lube, after 445 years it needs it. https://advrider.com/f/threads/ty175-staring-down-the-rabbit-hole-need-a-guide.1463250/
