  1. All I can tell is that I have been running the "BRAKING" pads, and they doo seem to work better than the Galfers when wet. Mind you, these were installed as to minimize the noise issue with the wave rotors(by Braking as well), yet there are tradeoffs is seems. The Braking pads do seem to be less noisy, and offer improved feel and progression, yet I have yet to find them equal to the Galfers in dry operation when you want that wheel to stop NOW to do a bit of a rear hop and such. MY finger memory still has a problem with that!

    New Fantic!

These pics keep popping up, as I seem to recall one from a while back, yet this one does appear a bit more refined. This little (reported 50cc) thing just looks too cool to me! Needs a good 125 motor in it!

    Bit Of A Knock

Hopefully things will go back to norm once cooled down and cleaned out! Did you ck the coolant level lately? Rad must be kept clean! If you keep running things too hot you can damage a piston and such. You really need to know what fuel you are using, as for most the 98 RON pumpgas will suffice. At 80:1 with full synthetic top oils. Not the 50:1 ratio. Hopefully no damage done. And things mat return to normal if lucky!
  4. First off, which tube is it p***ing from? If it is the one that comes off the lower part of the bowl you simply need to block it off. It is useless at this angle of installation. Other than that, you have to hold the carb body at about a 45 deg.angle to determine exactly when the floats contact the needle without compressing the spring, as this is your actual point of shutoff, and the floats should be near in level with the carb body to achieve the 19.5 mm spec to the top of the floats from the body.
  5. Exactly what you described! And as even the smallest particle in the system can foul it. The pilot jet must be removed and totally inspcted along with a fine wire run through it if neccessary to insure no blockage, along with blowing it out with some air, ant the tinny passages in the throttle bore, there are two! These things can get you!
  6. Yea, well, what did you expect? You knew it was coming! On some of the rocks we ride, some protection just seems a neccessity to me. My cheap knee caps and shin guards have saved me some major agony, as well as the elbow guards, just cheap insurace. As far as the full face helmets go, I doubt it is a bad idea, specially for kids, yet once again one must find his own comfort level. I try to avoid situations that may lend themselves to a good faceplant! Yet in Eric's case, it is a bit ironic, yet at the same time he put himself into that position with full knowledge of potential outcome, and when I say that, they may well be riding some really aggressive stuff, and the fine strind that divides us all is this skill thing and a certain confidance in what you are attempting. The most difficult thing for me has been keeping myself from attempting something I might have easily done 25 years ago!
  7. Can't I just put in my application HERE, as I do not really want to ride the thing as I am really too old, but I do need a bit of a sense of consideration. The associated rejection and depression, and a good reason to have another beer will soon follow! If you would kindly, the inclusion of a few swear words in you reply it would make me feel better, cause I know you can be rather nasty at times! I am a bad boy!
  8. Ishy makes good points here, and so does dabster. The big question seems to be (how else do you even set a section that others can ride)? As this level of skill and difficulty has been reached, how do you challenge the top riders without killing them, and yet make it even possible for others to participate? And for what reward? Let us take the TDN thing as example, most teams(if they can afford it) do not even attempt the top lines, just stupid! Yet getting back to basics, tell me again exactly what a world Junior Championship pays? What does a World Championship pay?
  9. he he, I was sent that pic a couple days ago! Seems the lad is in for a neutering! Here's one for you, Teacher decided to give the class a pop quiz on this week's spelling words. "Now class, you are to spell the words, then use them in a sentence," said the teacher. "The three words are: hotel, stigma, and homosexual." So Johnny stands up and says "OK teach, I'll give it a shot. First word...H-O-T-E-L. Tiger Woods asked his girlfriend to keep their affair under wraps, but TMZ made the ho tel." Teacher says, "Uh, that's not the correct way to use that word. Try another one." Johnny says, "Alright teach, S-T-I-G-M-A. Tiger Woods said to his girlfriend, "I want to stig ma putter in your sandtrap." Teacher says, "Now Johnny, you spelled the word right, but didn't use it correctly!" "OK teach, how bout this...H-O-M-O-S-E-X-U-A-L. Tiger Woods asked his girlfriend not to wear any panties because he thought it made the ho mo sexual."
  10. Sounds as though there may still be something in the pilot jet causing it to be a bit lean on the mix!
  11. That is just too cool! Did you do that , really?
  12. Sorry, I am busy! Trying to figure out just how to to accomodate the daughters tuition into the budget! It only amounts to a trip to Scotland, each month! Frigin crazy! Not that I mind sending a pittance, a case of them Tesco pints, or a McDonalds gift card to buy a sausage biscut for those found on the floor in the morning! Mc Donald is a Scott is he not?
  13. Billy may correct me here, but one thing I would suggest when riding is to try and adapt more to the bent knees and let the quads take the punishment(and development) while riding. As when the quads are not employed, the rider then stands more straight legged and when tired, causing even more stress to the thoractic and cervicle spine due to the higher body position on the bike. If nothing else, toes on the pegs and drop the heels to lower your body a couple inches while in cruise mode. I did use a bit taller bars for several years, yet as time has gone on and I have become become accustomed to having the bars further forward, this also seems to allow for a straighter position in the thoractic region. Yet that in itself could have a negative reaction in the neck (cervical) region while having to keep the head erect by constant looking up. Not sure about that. Botom line,it seems easier to maintain proper upper body positioning and reduce stress if you keep them knees bent and let the leggs do the work, which still becomes more difficult as you tire! Oh,and I have the roller as well, yet never replaces the chineese girls that walk on your back! Bottom line, if you can keep the weight into the leggs at a bent position, overall it seems to help your riding and your score, as well as the fatigue on the rest of the body!
  14. Tony makes a point, yet in the field they will still be quick reguardless, in any of the lower gears, and a gear change to a higher final drive ratio will simply propel you less for a given amount of throttle. One can slow the motor itself a bit through changes in jetting of the carb and ignition timing. And also smooth the motor through a change in the reeds. Any and all up to personal pref here. You can make a bit of a dog of it , yet it will never be a 125 or 250! A 2.9 still has lots of power!
  15. I need a trip to the Chiro! Yes, keep your neck in shape! Wish I had Billy here!
  16. Obviously there must be some relationship in the CG of the rider and his ability to alter the attitude of the bike while working against the CG of it. I seem to recall years back either Scorpa or Beta claiming a near 50/50 ratio with weight on the wheels. Yet I am totally unsure if that fact alone would neccessarily make it easier to manipulate the bike, as the riders CG and points of contact and force imput to the bike may disagree. Then you can get into the rotational forces of the flywheel and all, and its effect upon the bike. Nothing in ideal relationship here. Seems all this science is important, yet none can agree, as there is no standard perfect bike!

    New Ossa

Just poking you Dan, yet this will give you something to knock around in your head! Here
  18. Oh my god, that is so horrible! All this could cost the lad millions!(for kicking the little ball around) Do you not realize he is a top athlete! It is a tough job and deserves much more respect than that! Maybe if you fessed up to screwing Oprah, the same would happen to her!

    New Ossa

Obviously, you never found the article tha stated all that as hogwash as well! Maybe it could effect your high speed stability? Could you tell me what that is? As I would hate to find any uncontrolled occillations while going past the 10mph barrier!
  20. 45/125 seems to be the standard set, your mileage may vary!
  21. No, Dabster is correct in that they do seem to work a treat in the big bikes, and fact is HE is the one that put me on them many years ago. Suffice it to say that even though I ran them and the were butter smooth in the 125, that would likely do nothing for an agressive 125 rider, and one still cannot produce magic out of a 125. A more aggressive teqnique in needed, along with the other things I think. As if you let them drop off the powerband, you are screwed! The reeds ain't gonna help you except maybe on the top end! The trick to the 125's to me is managing the power and clutch to keep them in optimum power range and gear at all times. This is a skill thing, and with stock gearing usually does not extend beyond second gear, which is why the top riders go to the 46-48 range on the rear to manage third gear on the big stuff. Everything here becomes a tradeoff as compared to the factory setup! Pick your poison!
  22. Caby on the '05 4T! The bike was brilliant! A few of them had crappy dellorto's, the rest were fine! And soo things go! Pity! Here! Pity in this copy the music overides the motor sounds of the original, in which the motor was probably never revved, just tractored along and never broke more than 4-5 k rpm at best!
  23. Yea, well Martin, question is how are they gonna sell any old bikes if there is no importer into the UK or US for that matter? All this seems to make no common sense! Maybe the factory will sit upon them this time, till it HURTS! And then decide to distribute and sell them at a competitive rate! Just nuts! I love you like a brother Martin, but it just kills me to see what they have done! Yea, they buy all the top riders, put them on a Special, Win championships! And cannot get a decent bike to folk at a decent price without screwing the importers and everyone to go with them! Such a pity! And so the attitude goes, if/when we sell the old ones off, maybe we will build some new ones and change the colours? Obviously there is a problem here, they can take their Championships and go pound sand, see what that gets them! Nothing here for me.
  24. Mmmm, NO, but for some odd reason they continue to pop up right next door!
  25. That is hilarious! Would the idmcc_ sec be a Mr Chicken? from his avatar?
