  1. Conor, in Spain they call that a "new engine thermodynamic" or something like that i believe! It should probably work untill the 2012 models arrive!
  2. There was a modern documentary on him I seen on the cable not too long ago. Lots of good info and stuff! There will never be another to replace him! Balls of Titanium! RIP
  3. I seen the NEW Fuji S700 in the retail store for $225,(100 quid) I have not read all the specs but the advertized shutter lag was 1/10 sec. and it has a real lenz with good zoom. If it is anything like my older Fuji it will be a bargain at that price and still fit nicely in a bum bag. Its the latest and similar to the S5700 yet lower price. worth a look!
  4. They don't put those cameras on open stretches around here! A shotgun will easily take them out! Actually a good air rifle would probably do the job!
  5. Apparently RLracer has been busy and has not picked up on this topis as I had hoped, but too late now as you have already modified it. Non the loss as it should be fine I would think. Do not expect any excess sparks from these things at kickover speeds, difficult to see, but basically it seems they either make spark or not on a simple ck. You may have to be in a dark spot to see it well!
  6. To be honest, no, If there is any major difference in frames other than them dropping the radiator a bit, nothing stood out. Not that the bike is not sweet! Best out of the box bike I have ever ridden, literally! Much better than me! Of course, my well massaged '07 is set for ME and is comfortable! I will tell you my current rave, Ryan's 1/2 back peggies, expensive, but after a while, you may just find they ARE like cheating!
  7. Thoughts, well I'm not quite sure what you have done to fix it! Would require a signifigant loss of compression for it to not run, however if you noticed a major difference in kickover? I seem to recall the later model pistons not having the cutaway, as the later bikes are tuned a bit smoother, I think RLracer just installed one in a bike, maybe he can confirm. But if it runs fine I would not be overly concerned about it. Hope that helps.
  8. Good report Chris! Seems like you may like a bit less agressive power as well, yet lots of it! As many on here know, my '07 2.9 is set back a bit on the timing and uses a bit smoother reed in the Boyesens, just about right for me. With the Kiehin, lets just say I don't need it. I did ride the '08 2.9, and it it very nice in standard trim, as basically the two map switch is doing the same thing with the timing, to exactly what extent I have not measured, but if you feel the 4T is still smoother than a 2.9 in the low and mid, I doubt I would have too much problem, yet I still recall the great powre the '05 bikes had when you let them rip! A good running one is smooth as glass it seems. I like the quiet factor as well, but I would still be tempted to build a little "special" exhaust! Get rid of the lumpy muffler for a little Supertrapp or something with some four stroke bark! Where we ride, nobody cares! There is still a bit of fun in "Growl,Snarl, and Pop! Ah, yes! Memories of the old Honda 305 Scrambler with the twice pipes! Oh, I was gonna add the fact that compared to the '03 and '05 bikes I had, the '07 seems to get around the trail quite nicely in 4th gear. Almost think they lowered the ratio a bit, but not sure, just works! I ran a 2tooth larger 44rear on the '05 which did the same. Not seem to need it now.
  9. Steve, what is a "race model" does that mean the Raga Rep goodies? And Chris, reading the reports of the more agressive 4T with the Kiehin, I have been hesitant as I have not had a chance to ride one. How would you compare to a standard 2.9? You may want to open another thread on this! Give us a report!
  10. The Lancaster will last longer for your money! Give her a makeover and she is good for another decade or two. Can't say that bout the wi-------, well nevermind! The Lancaster is always exciting to fly! Cant say tha-----------------------, well nevermind! Only cost about a half million quid for the Lancaster if you don't contract out too much of the work! Much cheaper in the long run!
  11. What I would give to see that policy put forth in the US! Of course, I would never make a good politician. Between the foreigners, liberals and women, I could pe off 80-90 percent of the population in no time at all! All without making a knappy headed comment! "I was born a poor black child"---- Steve Martin!
  12. He's not kidding, Bike has that sticker on the tank! Funny thing, mine looks fine after all year! Go figure! I could use a tire!
  13. I think that's Martha Stewart standing in the background. Did you get her permission Barry? May have her new Trials Utility tool in hand to wack smarties while on the trail! Riders too!
  14. You are best off to pull the mudguard, remove the filter and block the hole prior to washing the bike. That way you can check the filter and airbox prior to riding. Fuel tank may be easily removed as well, just block the fuel line so no water gets in. Then you may clean everything! Oh, plug exhaust too! Riding in mud and wet: Tape up holes in mudguard. You may run a piece along side to airbox. Many fill area between frame and airbox with RTV. Make a flap from duct tape, goes just in front of where mudguard goes under frame. Tape off holes in front of bashplate. Tape off area below radiator. Hope that helps!
  15. What do you expect for 7-10 grand? Perfection? I am still leaning toward the 4T Sherco myself, but time will tell! Fewer and fewer clean '04 Mont's around to flog, shame!
  16. I would prefer to review the photos of the golfball lodged in the cows bung!

    I'm Back

    Earth calling Bingo!
  18. And the same may happen to Bush in the short term future! Now, speaking of Political Sluts, where is that picture of Hillary?
  19. If you have an air compressor, which you need to do tires, the next thing is a good RATTLE GUN(impact wrench)! A good 3/8 drive will take off most all them big nuts like nothing. No holding fixtures required! A 1/2 in gun can be used, but be careful on assembly! Scribe them all prior to disassembly so you can go back to the same or just slightly more tension on assembly! Done !
  20. Doubt it was just that. Did you previously hose it off? Really it sounds as though you may have TWO problems. As it takes water INSIDE the bowl to cause a floaty idle! Pull the carby too and clean it ALL! Ck fuel tank for water! That means drain it while on the reserve position , into a clear bolttle. Water settles to bottom! There are other things, but get the bike cleaned up first!
  21. Now if iT does'nt happen again with Icegirl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Us Montesa-

No doubt he will need some help if he is going to try to keep up with it all! He is a top fellow and I wish him the best!
  23. Yea, well, just don't forget that Muslem extremists really do not care who you are! Where you live. What flight you are on. Who your friggin priminister is. What island you are on. They simply do not give a s!!t! They cannot even get along amongst themselves, they are THAT stupid! Spend as much time blowing themselves up as anything else! Bunch of idiots! Do you think you are dealing with rationality here? War is never the "popular" thing to do! Grow some balls man! I just hope your country is not next! I told Bush to just nuke'um and take the oil, clean the slate, but he would have non of that, sorry! Add Pakistan, Iran and things will only worsten! How many idiots do you need with nukes? Before you grow them things? I forgot to ck if Churchill(sp) made decisions based upon popularity? MC
  24. Maybe that is what they need to keep a Montesa from "flaming out" while it throws you over the bars! On the topic, I can see LPG, CNG or hybrid technology, but I think I could come closer to lighting a fire with Zippers collected farts than by producing hydrogen and distributing it!
  25. If the place where the small hose attaches was as grungy as the rest of the carby, you may have pushed some dirt into the float chamber when installing the hose! This can cause stickey floats and such! You need to remove and disassemble for a proper cleaning, might even be best to reinstall the airbox, plug the fuel and air inlet and powerwash the outside ov it first! Then remove carb to disassemble and inspect, hopefully the float valve will seal off properly. Remove the fuel inlet banjo and clean the inlet screen as well. A can of carb or brake cleaner will usually suffice, along with compressed air to blow dry everything prior to reassembly, should be clean enough to eat off of when you are finished, not a spec of dirt inside carb or jets! I only use short tubes on the vents, maybe 50-60mm long, just to divert dirt and water entry! Long tubes can cause strange running problems if fuel gets trapped in them! Some use none at all, but I do not like to have to disassemble to clean as often as I am LAZY! Hope that helps! MC
