  1. He needs to take it up with someone because if no one does anything in a couple of years time the Factory will just be a standard bike with FACTORY colours and stickers , everything else will be a separate purchase.
  2. OK if you insist here is a start to your journey https://www.retrotrials.com/fantic-305--245-and-125-maintenance-manual.html The 305 = 249cc 245 = 212 cc 125=124cc FANTIC model bikes are the AIR COOLED forerunner to your water-cooled 249R so can be used in place of the actual 249R manual unless of course you can find one?. This site has other snippets on the 249R and FANTIC history if you fish around its pages This site is an amazing resource for your type of bike. Bill Pye of Frankfield Garage was the man who had all the knowledge on FANTIC Trial bikes but I think he has retired now , you will have to do a search for Fantic related info . Good luck and i hope you enjoy your first ride on the finished bike.
  3. Personally I think it is a bit devious , the Beta Factory should have a Factory spec fork or its not really a Beta Factory is it. I would be calling John Lampkin to voice my displeasure. Just goes to show you have to check everything that you are expecting a product to include is actually there because of course they 'reserve the right to change the specifications without notice at any time'. Spend your money somewhere else next time out. If you are going to buy that part ask for a 50% discount as they only gave you 50% of what you thought you were buying on that side of that fork assembly
  4. The clutch should be hydraulic DOT4 you will not find a workshop manual and owners manuals were very basic These bikes are in the 'Rare and rocking horse' category if you want to go on a very long and probably quite expensive journey then I wish you good luck. Do not expect it to be worth much more than you paid for it after you spent all that time and money fixing it up. My advice would be if you want to research an old bike and spend hours on the internet searching for the parts and information then you just bought the perfect thing , If you want to ride Trials then break it as spares and buy a second hand 2010 on BETA or GASGAS.
  5. TRS got rid of Adam Raga to save money it must be even worse at BETA if they have to quit using an adjuster on a fork. They could of afforded to fit it if they just got rid of the red anodised finish. Quite sad really unless it was a supply issue on the line during assembly , if this was the case then they should have had this as a free to first owners on request item when stock became available.
  6. @Paul1766 The Jotagas is a copy of the GasGas Pro in many ways and therefore like the GasGas Pro the gear lever shift mechanism has a lot of movement before it actually shifts a gear by design so that if it gets knocked accidentally by your foot or by something that is protruding outward along side the gearbox as you ride past such as a thin branch then it has less chance of another gear being selected by accident as it gives a chance of a deflection of the object that touches the gear shifting lever. If all your gears select both up and down the box then you may not actually have a problem.
  7. Jotagas neil last visited the site in January 2019 so you probably will not get a reply from him but the site member section swept explains in detail above the type of fixes for the problem you are experiencing . if you cannot understand what he is explaining then it is probably best to take the bike to a trial motorcycle dealer and have them look at it.
  8. Collecting spares is the way to go , when you see something at a reasonable price just buy it even if you do not need it and shove it in a draw or put it on a shelf its nice when you have parts immediately to hand if something goes wrong , its a shame you did not have the spare cash for that other bike , most people have been there. Hope you find what you are looking for.

@cello As you say this is not a Country that it is easy to find any place to ride , It is best to join a club that has a practice venue for its members use and just use that sort of place as it makes it more or less fuss free when you want to get out on your bike , but if you do not live 15 minutes away it makes it inconvenient if you have other commitments in your spare time. You have to be determined if you want to ride competition bikes here , on the plus side it is a cheap sport compared with other motorcycle sports so not so bad. Hope you can find a club near you that has some facilities.
  10. Bottom left fork on a 23 Factory is supposed to have a small flat blade screw driver slot in the centre of the nut style lower fork leg fixing bolt that adjusts the compression damping , if there is no central adjuster in the centre of that fixing then you must have a cheaper version of the fork fitted to your bike, If you bought it second hand then perhaps a previous owner swapped the original Factory forks for something else. Perhaps it is covered with dirt or silicone sealant ?

@celloHere is a look at Trials suspension https://youtu.be/rbLltLQCcMc?future=shared

Its OK Trials suspension is that soft it is normal. When you are practising at first try putting 3.5 psi in the back and 5 psi in the front when you are in the garage to help you its much easier to static balance on grass or dirt with the normal trials pressures of around 6 front 4 rear. Hope you enjoy it enough to stick with it.

If you are practising static balancing try changing your handle bar position by pushing them forwards in the clamps it makes it easier to balance if you get your chest in line with an imaginary line coming up from the angle of the forks by leaning forward and you will feel the difference there is between being further back , this also helps when you start to hop the back wheel around during static balancing as your weight positioning is onto the bars to push against them as you unload the rear end to lift the rear wheel off the ground.
  14. That is the trouble with old bikes it can be a pain with ones 10 years old never mind your one , if you are serious with your commitment to the FANTIC it would be wise to just find and buy another complete bike then you have all or most of the major hard to find spare parts in stock if and when you need them it is cheaper and easier in the long term.
  15. @cello It does not make it a certainty on your engine size but standard gearing on a 2014 EVO 125cc is 9/43 200cc is 11/42 250cc is 11/41.
  16. Hello @luke7129 Champion Motorcycles is breaking a K ROO they have listings on ebay.co.uk at the moment for all sorts of bits perhaps they have what you want.

Hello , Adam Raga just upgraded to a SHERCO ST300 and came 2nd at the DL12 Arena trial against Jaime Busto so everyone will be expecting great things of you. Have a great time and make good friends with the SHERCO rear brake pedal.
  18. The breakage is caused by the outer cable not having enough slack in it from the point where it leaves the tank/ frame gap to the throttle tube housing if you google images of a 300RR specifically you can see many images of the cable being such a length that the cable exits upward and forward of the throttle tube housing more toward the front wheel where as yours kinks on a backward exit of the throttle tube housing exit. Hope that is of some use to you resolving the problem , have a good evening.
  19. @Cota300rr it looks although it is not completely clear that your throttle cable is routed across the tank to the left hand side of the frame , if it is then this is the reason for the breakage in the outer throttle cable as your throttle cable outer casing has no slack in it as it would have if is routed to the right hand frame side.
  20. 2012 made in march 2012 frame number 307 of bikes made that year. Go to www.teknikmotorsport.com for some limited technical info specific to your model
  21. I know what you mean it does seem like it would be weakened by being like that but it works fine, I never saw a problem on one caused by the gap as long as the bushings and spindle are good.
  22. As long as you have the large pressed steel washers sitting in the rear swing arm spindle hole of the engine casings then the gaps between the outer swing arm pivot points and the frame do not matter as the engine casings as one unit keep the swing arm centered., the steel washers protect the casing edges from wear obviously.

  24. @on it I think you may have the answer with a TR2 type course as all the current top riders would retire and the overall skill level would be lowered for some time into the future.
  25. @faussy hi there , regarding the funding bit I was only thinking of the TR1 group and the British Championship entries that on it spoke of., TR2 and 125 riders are riding a less challenging course and so that probably explains why it has a more healthy level of support the same as at club level where the main support comes from the middle and starter routes.
