  1. wow what a difference but your struggling. My suggestion is then go back to gas gas
  2. Ahh so it isnt just me who feels the same about customer service from ms sandifords. Personally i dont think it is the sandiford attitude however that has seen the downturn. It is the cost of the montesa and the stop rules that has killled the bike off. Trials are getting tighter and bigger stuff. The mont just doesnt cope as well for the majority of uk level riders as the two strokes that are much lighter. Dont get me wrong they are leaps and bounds ahead in terms of build quality but thats not good enough for most. I have kept my montesa for my own reason, but i ride two stroke gasser 2010 and wow what a difference. My results are better, so it works for me.
  3. you say credit card are you covered anyway?
  4. Will be interested to see if caroline sandiford responds on this issue?
  5. IOW - The results would suggest that this trial was a bit over the top to say the least. Im sure you will agree the weather in our sport can alter a section at any time making it harder or in some cases easier. The weather in most cases will always win. Reason to suggest the trial was over the top in no way reflects the huge efforts it takes to put on these events for any club. Would love a bit of the spanish weather mind it would make things alot easier lol.
  6. Being there today it was not so much the severity of the sections but the weather yet again playing a massive part. If its not snow, its heavy rain and when the rain clears we get heavy frosts so just about everything chucked in. I personally thought the severity was spot on for a british championship as did many others and the club had set out what promised to be an excellant trial. And i think it was. What became a problem was the heavy downpour on friday night and as the day unfolded on the sat sections were tweaked to suit the conditions. We then get heavy frosts overnight and on travelling to the event -4 was not in any way a help. So what to you do? Yet again great crowds, smiling faces and lots of whoo's for the crowds and full tummies. Sounds good to me.
  7. James Dabill was on form today to take win at first round. Great trial to watch.
  8. Thats why the sat practice is good so it gives the organising club the opportunity to alter the sections to suit. I think this is true of all rounds been run over last year or so. It will be a great day out im sure of that.
  9. Too fast for the lamploughs i reckon
  10. If its a performance part yes, if its a colour thing no.
  11. Totally agree on this especially andy's comments. If it costs promoters to run a round so much why not take on them selves and source local funding and trials business in uk such as importers, acu etc. Perhaps they do already. I know if it works why change it. Bums on seats dictate i guess. Does the event really need the tag 1st round of world indoor as i supect the riders would ride anyway albeit 10 of them as they ccould use the event as practice and lets be honest sheffield pulls a great crowd which the riders thrive on. I guess the promoters can olny answer this. IF anyone knows the facts post a comment. Im sure mr lampkin and Co are making money as no way would this venture run at a loss year on year. Perhaps someone again knows this? One thing for sure is i love the event a great time of year and if it stays the same i will still keep going. Would be nice to see change mind.
  12. thanks for that, i watched marseille one today on sky plus and i must comment it was quite poor in terms of footage. At start a quick breakdown of who is out, then a small seletion of sections from 4 riders. Would liked to have seen more. What does everyone else think?
  13. can tell you got time on your hands gizza5, looking for sheep been mounted on bikes.hmmmmmmmmmm. Gotta go im riding tommor lol.
  14. Totally gutted was really looking forward to the ride, such a great event as well. Oh well 3rd time lucky next year.
  15. I had the same thoughts but went for the 280 this year, i have had 250 's in past but thought the 280 would pull better and i was not dissapointed. Thing is if you find too quick you can tame it down cheaply but to try and get more power is harder. Also i heard that gassers die of a bit so it will probably feel like a 250 in six months. Stick to your guns its not gonna be like mega hard for you to ride at all. Make sure you alter your gearing as standard is too quick i simply changed my front sproket and made it a lot slower and smoother. Good luck and post again when you have ridden.
  16. Well said dan williams i like your style dude, perhaps you should run for presindency. Actually dont get me started on that one lol.
  17. where do you buy it cannot find it anywhere to buy?
  18. IRC very popular, soft and great for winter in uk, summer can go for dunlop as good wear as stiffer but again most people tend to ride michelin. Stay away from cheap tires it costs you in long run mate Hope that helps you choose
  19. Heat maybe, dont knacker bolt or you will really struggle. Can you give it a bit more leavrage, sometimes its just a good push you need. With cold weather it dont help. Good luck
  20. Can anyone advise please i have hope top clamp and bar risers fitted to montesa 4rt. Will these transfer to Gas Gas 2010. Im hoping there universal fitting. If not which would you reccomend gas gas riders for bar riser set up. Many thanks.
  21. As a mont rider for last three years i have grown to love the bike but now moving to Gas Gas. I know quiality aint as good etc etc but i cannot see why prices have taken the pee so much and for for what i see very little development. Also the bike needs to shed a few pounds (bit like me really) I am glad to be honest sandifords aint the importer anymore cause when ever you called it was the most rudest, ignoramus who answred and i think this was thought by many although the mechanics gave good advice so good luck to whoever the new importer is and hope they make a success of it and the telesales lol.
  22. I agree GIZZA5 (and by the way i seen a few of them at northern Experts young man) most trials fans have either seen bikes at local trial events or there local dealers prior to the event and im not sure people would go to a show to make a decision on which bike to purchase. I think from an importers point of view its an opportunity to network, change of scenery and possibly make the odd sale from the impulse purchaser. Not forgetting of course the opportunity to purchase the odd bargain from all those dealers wanting to rid of unbought stock. I stopped going a few years back as to me it was a bargain basement show. May have changed/improved now but i hear its something similar maybe in a slightly different format.
