Get yourself to any decent outdoor/walking shop and have a look at a Multifuel flask. Sigg and MSR are the 2 that I've used without any problems. Not cheap but quality bits of kit that don't leak and are pretty tough. I haven't used one in the Scottish though, because it's not allowed

If you read the manual again it tells you where to disconnect the ignition cable at a plug near the rear brake reservoir. I missed it aswell on my first oil change and thought it was a bit gash on Honda's part, so I re read the maunual and all was revealed. Simple enough job though.

The French 4 day caters for every class of rider from Experts which is probably Euro round standard down to beginner and everything in between. It's all pretty relaxed with no time limit. It's usually one lap on Thursday then two laps thereafter or you can choose just to do one lap, they're quite long laps resulting in long days! In summary it's a great event in the sun, with cheap beer/even cheaper wine and BBQ's all week!

Hi, Does anyone know where in the UK that might stock or be able to order the 2007 RTL250F plastics. They are similar to the Fujigas Rep ones in white. Just fancy having something a bit different. Hi Pat, The exhaust port needs raising quite a lot and widening a touch, I have the required dims somewhere which I'll try and dig out, the later pistons also have shaped crowns. I think I took about about 10mm off the flywheel, again I'd have to check. The inlet tract/manifold was shortened by apprx 12mm which then moves the carb and airbox down and forward, this makes BIG difference especially bottom end. Finally I advanced the ignition 3-4mm. You end up with a quieter, smoother and more poky motor which is far usable in sections. There was a brand new ally kickstart on ebay this week . I'll try and find all the Dims and PM you with them

Just had a look at both the Bing and Craigy Quarry on Google Maps, the quarry doesn't actually look like a quarry from the images but having ridden there a few times it's got everything from small beginner stuff to full blown World round stuff. So Koevoet which Bing is the one to go riding at? The one next to the golf course or the one to the south which appears the larger of the two. Me and a mate from Fife were looking at coming down next weekend to either the Quarry or the bing for a change, although we think there's a Dunfermline club trial on at Knockhill.(can't remember where I saw that)

To be honest, it looks like you've answered your own question. You already have a PTB so the 260 kit is only duplicating what you already have, give or take 10 cc's and a sport's cam. So, as there is no real substitute for cubes the 280 seems the way to go! Should go well with your PTB. As I haven't tried either, this is an opinion based on the info you've provided ie prices and details. Let us know what you decide.

The mod back in the day was to fit a YZ front brake plate with an external brake arm, chamfering the leading edge of the shoes in the standard set up normally helped too. I do have a YZ front brake plate, PM me if your interested. Hughesy

I use windows media player to "rip" the original CD onto my computer as an MP3 file and by connecting to internet you can obtain the album cover and track titles. I then use Nero to compile and burn the MP3 CD. Use the "group" buttons on your CD player to go through the albums on the CD and the "sel" buttons to select tracks from the selected album. I'm a computer biff so if I can manage it then it must be straightforward.

Nah, it's definately pre 00 or 01 as the rear caliper is not inside the swing arm but on top. I can't remember exactly when that changed. A simple frame No check with Sandifords should confirm the year. It's a shame when things aren't as they are described as it's very easy to assume that someone's on fiddle rather than a genuine mistake.

I've just got back after a long drive back up to a suprisingly french like climate Scotland! Great trial once again, the ride around is superb with the majoprity of sections on super grippy rocks. I'm already thinking of next year and if i can stay even longer.
