  1. Fivemeister what oil are you using ? I see it's red.
  2. Nice photos, i've done the same since the 07 4-t. The only differance is when it's on the aluminum lift I rock the back of the bike down and with tie downs go from the chain adjusters back to the bottom of the lift legs and then rotate the motor forward. All the specs and info you could ever want on the rev/evo 4-t motor is available in the factory manual.
  3. I found a black cloud on sunday! Doc is speculating 4-5 months off work, friday I see the surgen, so i'll know if it's time to sell my EVO 300. Bummed what a nice bike. Lined up a 4-wheeler to get around the sooner cup. Copie bring me a 6 pack of real beer.
  4. Have fun Wayne ! Lots of work but worth it, you've seen mine. Has anyone looked at putting a hot start on the sherco ? I know they start fine when they are warm but I think it would be handy for when it didn't start and was flooded to allow air in without opening the throttle. Or better yet maybe some day the factory will take of the carb off and install fuel injection like the enduro bike.
  5. I know what you mean Wayne my evo 4-t has been sitting in the garage for over a couple of weeks and it took me a good easy two pushes thru before it started, I almost gave up on it. Hope you have better luck than me !!
  6. I've had the rev before and could get about 30 minutes out of the rubber flap on the airbox, on my Evo 4-stroke I have many hours on it and it shows NO ware ! Happy with the evo and so far no problems with it.
  7. Spent 3 days at trials training days and never found time to have a go on the Evo 290 two stroke. I did have time after the weekend to go play on my 300 4-t and had a blast. Cope I have found the steering to come in handy as now I can just crank it around a corner most of the time with out having to hop.
  8. I had 250 in 07, another 250 in 08 that I put a 300 kit on and bought a EVO 300 in 09. Both are good I just like the extra umff the the 300 has. Is there a chance you can get a go on one from a local rider ?
  9. That was neat. Copie was hanging around TTC at the trials training days this past weekend. Last I saw Copie yesterday he was tooling around TTC on his little street bike.
  10. It might have been dripping with grease but there is no grease in the dog bone bearings ! I thought the same thing when I got mine cause there was grease around the bolts and nuts. But when I went to service it like I always do I found that the factory greased the bolts to put then in and put no grease in the linkage bearings. Motofire take a look and let us know. You might want to look at the steering stem bearings and the swingarm bearings also. Beta did do a very good job designing the dogbones , they have real seals instead of just a washer and the bushings have been coated like the axles top notch !!!!
  11. I'll have to ask the Godfather of trials next week when we go riding the what and why T.I.T.S was added to the title or it could just mean some where else to ride when you get tired of neott.

    09 Natc Season

Ishy that could sure save some money by not having to travel. So how about we all pre enter and just have our cards drawn from a hat and they can email us how we finished. Or maybe someone has been smoking some of that special weed that was growing in the woods at the last national we rode there.
  13. No I was just watching Keith and Geoff ride I can't and don't want to ride what they were doing. I was there to just put a little time on my 09 evo thumper. Geoff still has it ! Watching Geoff ride on a clapped out Dunlop was impressive. Jumping from rock to rock on the rear tire and not slipping or spinning the tire, just made me shake my head ! No 3.2 water beer Copie ! I need to loose some of my ponie keg.
  14. I've been at TTC the last couple of days watching Geoff ride on a used up dunlop, very humbling ! Even on the wet rocks.
  15. Got word mine is supposed to fly into Atlanta on monday. Should have it next weekend. Wayne how is the sound when you wind it up ? Like to do a splatter.
  16. Have fun Wayne, so your saying that on there 11th year in production that they finally have an owners manual. I road the 09 about 4 months ago for the day, very nice bike. I'd like to hear it sometime if you have the quiet muffler.

    Beta 4 Stroke

As stated by helloyes the jitsie fuel screw is a must as far as helping to get to the fuel screw. Was there any water in the bottom of the bowl ? All passages clean ? Is there a tear or a pin hole in the top of the diaphram ? Maybe unhook the kill switch to see if it still does it. Just some things to look at. John were you thinking the fuel valve may not be opening all the way when the bike is started ?
  18. If the cable isn't pulled out and if the slide is hitting bottom, I'd look for an air leak.
  19. Not sure about the disk you mentioned, my 07 and 08 did not come with a disk but did have a basic owners manuel. The factory does have a workshop manual for the 4T, I highly recommend this, it is on the motor only. I have this in a 3-ring binder with the papers in a plastic sleves and keep it on the bench for referencing. I would be willing to bet a beer out of Copies ice box your bog has nothing to do with the floats ( level if fine ). I would suggest you take the carb off and clean it, there is a fuel screw on the bottom kind of hard to get to, start with it about 1-3/4 turnes out and work your way out till the bog is gone. It will depend on your weather and fuel quality as were the screw will end up, there is no magic setting. Look for a replacement fuel screw that you can get to, I know jitie has one. You can PM me or email rlracer4@hotmail.com I would be happy to help in anyway. Copie my 09 4-T will be here hopefully in time for the Indy trade show. Until then, now don't cry Copie I have a Sherco to practice with thanks to a friend !

    Beta Rev 4

I've had an 07 & 08 and waiting for my 09. On the 07 I could'nt get the drain bolt out untill I opened the hole in the plate a little, the 08 was fine. No real problems, beta did a pretty good job with the 4-stroke. I did add a 300 kit to the 08, sweet !
  21. Yes there is a rebuild kit available for the shock, consult your local dealer he can get you the rebuild kit and should be able to point you to some one who can install it for you.
  22. Why do you need to change the plug that often ?
  23. Ralphy, Welcome to the beta 4-stroke ! I would suggest getting your hands on the Work Shop Manual for the Beta 4-stroke, all the motor info you need is in there. I add a high quality heat reflective material to the bottom of the fuel tank area, front side of the air box were the exhaust passes by, a small piece on the pipe were the fuel line runs into the carb and some heat reflective tubing on the fuel line. Went one spring lighter in the carb. Added a carbon & kevlar pipe guard no more melting marks on the pipe ! I change the oil often and keep the air filter clean. As far as motor mods I added the 300 kit and the aluminum pipe and just tickled to death in the way it runs. 300 kit adds more torque, more power. Aluminum pipe lets it breathe, it adds more across the board from bottom to top and only slightly louder if you can say that, very exceptable !!! The stock throttle is 1/4 turn, you say you installed a white throttle that is 3/8 turn so you slowed it down ? why ? Install a jitsie fuel screw or some one else's so you can get to it.

    Sherco Clutch

I've scuffed up the steels with 80 grit and had good luck with that. A guy here in Oklahoma, can't remember his name off hand to give him credit, come up with using a thread file on the fiber plates that works every time. It's like taking eack of the squares on the fiber plates and making into 3 with light groves, it breaks the surface tension and helps to release the clutch. Takes a little time to do it but when your done it works.
