Whens the last time you cleaned the carb out ?
You tried running it a little richer on the petrol screw, of experimenting with needle position ?
-
Hi Ian, what ratio are you running ? Have you repacked the first box ? Has it had a decent run at speed to really clear the exhaust out. The first pipe can also be full of carbon, I stuck a hot air paint stripper in one and it burnt for a long time.
-
Rotax 240 motor so jetting probably no relevant, but I have all the info if your interested. Only chimed in to save you wasting time with an air screw carb.
-
PHBH26BS is what I ordered,(tickover and petrol screw on left when sitting on bike) about £115 .
-
Air screw Dellorto carbs of that era weren't very good, go for a petrol screw type.

-
Have you acquired the "taste" yet Hamish ?
-
Resurrection - as said, solved the problem by borrowing a petrol screw Dellorto from another bike and ran it till about a month ago. Decided it was time to replace carb and return the original to the donor bike when the new one turned up. I expected to notice a real difference between a brand new carb, and a 25 year old one. Virtually none, which was a pleasant surprise, and goes to show that they are/were very good quality. (this is contrary to the opinion voiced on a well known site, which claimed they wear significantly in a year)

It's ok Alan, I corrected your post for you.
-
If Casales didn't perform well on the bike it would be the bikes fault, if Busto takes time to come to grips it doesn't reflect badly on Honda.

If you have to remove the engine to fit, I wouldn't trust a fleebay quality item.
-
New fuel pump for an Ossa, £280....and you have to take the engine out.
Never known gravity to fail.

Glen, so car makers with massive budgets and expertise, vehicles with a relatively easy life, can't get it right......your point is ?

They met at the singles club meeting and discovered over time that they enjoyed each other's company.
After several weeks of meeting for coffee, Claude asked Maude out for dinner and, much to his delight, she accepted. They had a lovely evening. They dined at the most romantic restaurant in town. Despite his age, they ended at his place for an after-dinner drink. Things continued along a natural course and age being no inhibitor, Maude soon joined Claude for a most enjoyable roll in the hay. As they were basking in the glow of the magic moments they'd shared, each was lost for a time in their own thoughts...... Claude was thinking: 'If I'd known she was still a virgin, I'd have been gentler.' Maude was thinking: 'If I'd known he could still do it, I'd have taken my tights off!
