  1. I can see the benefits of a 4t but for me there are lots more reasons why the GG 250 is the bike for me at the mo. Never say never but would that extra
  2. 81 would be John Lampkin Trials Yorkshire.
  3. it does. what timing is yours set at?
  4. Well done that man, if its nearly there then I bet if you take it off now it will be simple to do. Call me.
  5. :agree: could be something also to do with light console removal aswell. When did he grease the headstock last?
  6. couple of photos wiggy, blocky? Tony Cowley
  7. Sikaflex is wrong, or else it would be there from the start. Its not easy to do things right always, but once or twice and the job is not that bad, bit like changing tyres remember how difficult that is the first time you do it? As long as you don't have a problem with a spoke its fine, or once you have it on you can never true a wheel or tighten a spoke. Lets say you hit a step a bit hard and it leaks half way round the colonial, what will you do then Dooge?
  8. Use a new rim tape, follow the advice on the sherco website, job done.
  9. Directions are complicated follow these. J 13 over roundabout head towards woburn sands, stay on this road 3 miles till the t junction and double mini r'abouts. Head for bow brickhill and Bletchley, sort of straight on, turn in front of swan PH any way.stay on this road 3 miles mini r'about tl. big r'about on A5 turn l up hill first exit up and across A5 SP Great Brickhill, pick up castrols there.
  10. I thought the format worked really well and told martin crosswaite just that at the bar after. I think the big advantage of the section starter being a new rider on the 1st lap was much fairer and certanly gives new/lesser/wildcard ridersa better shot, would have been nice to carry that through to the second round. It was because of this non stop action and gives a rider who has fallen or has bike trouble a chance to sort these whilst the action carries on and on. Thought the sections were spot on and if doug had not nose dived into the log he would have won, I,m sure. It was the best Sheffield I've seen, and I thought Bou won because he was consistent rather than the best. Nice to see Raga relaxed and having fun. Dibs first lap amazed everyone. Cabestany lookde very steady but the fives caught up with him. Fuji was all ball$ and he even changed maps mid section/between sections. The 4rt have power is it as much as the Gasser or Sherco, difficult to tell but they have shaved the spoke flange on the back wheels so it looks like the weight saving is at its limit. raga for the indoor championship I think. Great night. Empty seats, you guys missed a good event.
  11. So back to the very first post, What a lovely 250 four stroke very much a rev 3 with a soft 4t motor (power charc of a 200 2t?) when apparently 5 now 20 in january and 25 in February where? Not round here, hens teeth will be more common in 2007! how much my guess same as 4rt,

  14. 30 f wonder how long one of the brittle ones would last!
  15. Shouldn't this be front page youth news Alan?
  16. I don't think our young riders have that far to go really, Wiggy is world Champion, Youth, michael Brown must be favourite for the Junior in 2007 having finished just 3rd this year and thats not to mention all the other lads who are coming along too. My guess is Jack Challoner will show well in the youth and if Ross is there aswell he should improve from 2006. If Sam haslam can do a few more rounds I think he could surprise a couple too. Dibs will be top five a few times this year I'm sure, and I'm with Cota kid on Dougie getting his 100th win.
  17. Thanks for the invitation John, I was waiting for a rainy day to mention this one again. Has the ACU made any progress on formal training for carrying out risk assessments (RA) yet? You may remember I made my concerns known a while back (the best part of a year ago) and the response given was that the ACU were looking into the matter. For anyone new to this, earlier in the year the ACU began issuing Clerks of the Course a RA form to fill in for each event. With no training in RA what-so-ever. This came about with the requirement for the organisers of any event to formally identify, assess and either remove or reduce any risks found at an event, in case a claim for compensation was bought to court. The Clerk of the course is expected to carry out this assessment and sign the form. If a claim was to go to court then the idea is that the form would be produced as evidence that the risk had been considered and delt with in an appropriate manner. Thus the theory is, the form would protect the Clerk of the Course from litigation. All well and good apart from my worry that the Clerk of the Course as an unpaid volunteer is not trained in RA and might miss or worse incorrectly assess a risk resulting in harm to a person and therefore become liable for any claim. Now I appreciate the the ACU's insurance for us officials is the best money can buy and that it should, in theory cover every eventuality, however signing this form might just drop somebody in it. There are dozens, perhaps hundreds or risks that should be assessed at every event. Let me give a simple example purely for illustration purposes. One might be the use of sticks to mark the boundary of a section. The assessor identifies the risk as a rider, official or other person falling on the stick causing injury. He assesses that no action is required as both the risk of injury and the likelyhood are both low. None the less a person (not a rider in this case) slips and falls on the stick and takes their eye out. The claim is taken up by some high powered solicitor and the Clerk of the Course finds himself in front of a Judge holding his RA form. The judge looks at the form and says "After consultation with professional Risk Assessors, I find that your assessment of the risk was incorrect. You should have removed the risk by not using sticks to mark the boundary. You are negligent. Full costs awarded." This is an awful postion to be in, the Clerk of the Course has been found negligent. His own RA form damns him in his own writing and all he can do is look to his insurers to pay the damages. Despite him being found negligent. (Fingers crossed.) Remember, once the Clerk of the Course signs the form, it is his responsibility. I'm confident that the insurance would pay up, but wouldn't it be far better for the assessors to be correctly trained in RA before being asked to carry out such an important task? Off to eat the next round of Christmas pudding now. Happy Christmas everyone. Pete Barnett Stratford-Upon-Avon MC&LCC Using your example pete how would formal training have avoided the claim?
  18. The only thing that surprises me is that someone from Idaho has more knowledge of this "project" than anyone from Spain France or Europe??????????

    2007 Bc

I think next years British Championships will be good. With the young lads coming through, Alexz (confirmed today he will be on a big bike), Sam, Lee and the others will shake up the results a bit I'm sure. I understand Steve Colley may not do all the rounds and graham may be doing Enduros(?) so it should be interesting.
