  1. I often read on here people saying there needs to be a clubman bike, cheaper than the current crop of gas gas, beta etc . However I don't think people want to be associated with a "clubman" or "cheaper" bike. (XISPA anyone?) Everyone knows that any current machine is far more capable than 99% of the riders competing every weekend, but the buying public seem to WANT the latest/lightest/most powerful machine, even if they have to spend time & money slowing them down. The raga/factory/cabestany versions prove there is a desire for this type of machine. The fact is, any cheaper bike with a clubman tag attached to it simply WILL NOT SELL.
  2. Have to laugh at the fork stickers!
  3. Stalling the bike regularly is a technique or machine setup problem, address that first. You don't need to be throwing marks away simply because your idle speed is too low or your clutch is dragging.
  4. Just be sure to change the oil on the dot, or preferably sooner.
  5. Just needs photoshopping to include a much bigger step!
  6. Isn't Scorpa around twenty years old now?
  7. I found retarding the timing made my 05 sherco easier to start.
  8. Sounds like a full carb strip & clean first.
  9. I fitted a resprayed '98 gasser front mudguard & made sure it was sitting close to the tyre at the rear to it doesn't snag the exhaust (2 stroke)
  10. Careful use of pressure washer, bucket of soapy water & a couple of handy sized brushes. That is all.
  11. Yes but beta never invented the word, so it's got nothing to do with them!!
  12. As above, but I use furniture polish spray with beeswax.
  13. The paint guy wasn't hanging about!
  14. Not as bad as I was expecting! Add a couple of stickers & its ok.
  15. Don't waste money on stickers & tat, put it towards a new bike if that's what you really want.
  16. You haven't cleaned the carb though, which is the first thing to do !
  17. There is a slight difference right at the top end.
  18. Post a picture on here or phone MRS with your frame no.
  19. Are you sure its a 2005? the blue plastics & yellow sherco frame sticker would suggest an older model?
  20. Stator, especially on this model sherco.
  21. Just to add I have had the exact opposite experience to nickc1969. My beta is amazing at grip finding! The point being there is no "best" bike (silly question really) each bike has its own traits which suit different people. Buy the one you like the best.
