Just collected my C15 back from Rupert Ratio,(AKA Dave Smith) its a Sportsman motor in a Victor GP type frame.I took it apart last summer to change the box ratio's to WD B40 ones,which were supplied by Dave. He had all the bits I needed,was well chuffed.Brought them back,shoved them under the bike in a box and nothing happened.Typical... Then a little while ago I had the brainwave to call Dave and ask him to sort it out for me. Hi I have a 1958 Cub with what I believe are the original hub, spindle, spacers into heavyweight forks. There is a gap that I'm questioning on the opposite side to the drum. Am I missing a spacer? Should the hub pull through further when I tighten the nut on the drum up? Or does it just have a gap!?

22mm Dellorto fitted to 199cc Triumph Tiger Cub For best performance how far out do you set the mixture screw, also needle position. Currently mine has mixture screw around 1 3/4 turns out, clip in top groove so needle lowest. Took care setting the float level as bike seemed rich, adjusted float to 25mm so fuel level slightly lower, Dellorto say 24 + / - 0.5mm. Carb is as supplied for a Triumph Cub. Slow running seems better now but will need a trial to know.

I'm looking for some advice on what is suitable gearing for a 350cc Matchless G3L (I expect a 350 Ariel would be very similar). I've been using the bike in my local trials, none of which involve a particularly long lap or any road work, and she is currently quite low geared. With aspirations of entering a NBBC round, or a two day event in GB or Ireland, I am looking for some guidance on what is the normal set-up for a pre-unit 350 being used in todays events? Hi, I'm looking to replace my old pvl ignition (which I need for another project) with a digital system,not sure what to replace it with , electrex or pvl, I have crank case posts so fitting is not an issue.

As the title hints i am looking to purchase some s/s jubilee clips for the inlet manifold coupler on the Bantam project but all i can find locally are std Jubilee ones and they are too wide because space is at a premium like everything on a bantam i need to get some narrow ones approx 8mm or 9mm width. Any ideas ?

As above, for my C15... I've budgeted about £150, not bothered if the Alloy ones are lighter, just wondered what current opinions are.. I've looked back through the archives and there's fans of either, but a lot of the opinions are a few years old so things may be different now? I see a lot of Betors about, but is that because they look a bit sexier or what ? Cheers

Hi hope this is the correct place to post this , I would like to try trials and am thinking of doing a experience day with inch perfect trials. I also own a Bantam which I want to convert to mild off / on road use nothing too serious ( I would buy a trials bike for that ) and daylight mot. Ideally something I could use on green lanes and maybe pay and play places as I have a couple near me. What would be the minimum must have mods, mudguards etc seem straight forward, It's fitted with heavyweight front forks. I'm guessing folding pegs, kick-start lever etc but how about wheels? I know I can fit a cub rear swingarm to fit a wider tyre but is there a rear wheel of choice…

Hi all, long story short, I’ve recently bought a tiger cub and I’m fixing a few minor issues on it. One of the issues is an oil leak from one of the rocker covers. I’ve looked into it and it seems like the engine is very early 1954, but am I right in thinking I have a square barrel and therefor a square barrel head? I will probably buy a full gasket set for the bike to fix the rocker cover oil leak. However if I buy a full gasket set based on a 1954 engine, will the gaskets be correct for the barrel and head? Hi All, I have a cub which has been set up for trials, but has been sitting for 30 years unused. I am slowly recommisioning it. It has a pair of metal profile forks, the forks have 5 inches of travel, but when you ride it they are so stiff and heavy it feels like about an inch or two. I have stripped, cleaned and given the fresh oil, but they still feel woody. The only thing left to try is to replace the springs, but I can't find any. Are there any companies out there who make springs to order. I need some 500m x 24mm. Thanks Sam

I recently got hold of two Cub/Bantam hubs to widen, and then flog the spare online to recover some of my outlay. I followed the info on the excellent BSA otter site and I'm very pleased with the results. However, I hadn't noticed before, but the two hubs are different lengths - after adding 38mm/1.5" to them both, I now have one 6 inches long, and one 6 3/8 long. I plan on fitting one to my royal enfield crusader which has plenty of room in the swing arm, to lose the weight of the standard brake drum and combined sprocket, and also because cub sprockets are plentiful and have a greater off the shelf choice, plus easier to change. I've taken the plunge into the world of pre65 and I've got myself a tiger cub. It runs fine but has been sitting unused for a long time. It seems like a pretty honest, non trick, trials machine. But a few bits need recommissioning. The front forks are quite stiff with limited travel, so need looking at. I was wondering if anyone could help me identify what they are from, that would help me massively with spares and servicing. Many thanks Sam

Hi everyone, a little help please. Over the last year or so I have been putting together a Trifeild! Before I start building can anyone help with the forks. Not sure what I need, ie length which ones I can use for pre 65 trails. Can I get new yokes made in alumimium! I was looking at 35 mm forks or can I not use these. Just did not want to finish this and get the bike rejected my rule. Again info on the rear shocks would be great When I start building I will start to post build. Has anyone done one of these!
