http://zorki.hmc5.com/bike/TLR-nikki/20040...LR-20040516.htm have a look at the above website where a guy details the restoration and improvement of his TLR. It is in Japanese but if you use Google and languages tools you can translate each page of the website into pidgin English. There isn't really a picture of the completed project but the detail that this site goes into is well worth the visit. there are several other Jap specials detailed on the web - when I remember the locations I will post a link

Hello all, I have been offered a Seeley 200. I have not seen it in the flesh as yet, but judging by the photo's it is a minter. Some history unrestored, not reg'd until 83. It has a Wes silencer which is obviously not correct. But it has white mudguard's. I think it may be one of the last ones built. Did any leave the Seeley workshop with white mudguards? Also has anybody had a replica silencer made. Len Savage sticker on the bike, may have sold the bike when new? Thank's.

i have a USA TLR200 & installed a new set of clutch plates only to find the engine making a fearful knocking noise & having a worse clutch with a dreadful shudder. i've obviously done something wrong, but unsure what... there is wear & some new aluminum particles about - the wear is at the end of the tabs on the outer clutch basket & even when everything is tightened down - the outer hub wobbles on the shaft. any ideas? thanks dean old hickory, tn usa

A guy has written in to me via the honda-trials.com website asking if anyone knows anything about this bike, I think this is a much bigger forum for such a question - so, does anyone know any more info about it? It has a Montesa tank/seat unit, XL250 motor and Aprilia front end. He was told the frame was a 'Mill's' it is nickel plated and nicely welded/brazed - anyone shed any other light? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi, I am probably going over old ground here but I have recently purchased a Scorpa 125 to sort my riding out, I find it steers and handles well. I have a TLR200 that does not, there is nowt wrong with it, just geometry is worlds apart. I would like to get the TLR to handle like the Scorpa. Anybody on here done any thing similar at a sensible price. Footpeg position and steering etc. I realise the weight will also be an issue. Thanks.

There's talk elsewhere on the web of fitting an ATC 200 top end on a TLR200, for different power delivery (more torque) and it has the cdi pick up in the head like the old XL's of the same era, also bigger fins for improved cooling. Just wondered has anyone here done it, if so is it a big improvement ?? Thanks in advance

do any of you forum members have a tlr 200 and found the brakes to be rubbish, not stopping you quickly enough even after new shoes? i also have an xl 185 based special, using xl wheels, (same age) and found those brakes to be much better at stopping you quicker, i know that the tlr has smaller shoes, but the difference is quite noticable, i may have found the reason, please let me know what yours are like.

Was observing at a local twin shock event last weekend, and someone had a Benly powered bike - which for me was bike of the day! It had a lovely sound to it. Missed the chap at the end of the event, as I was still walking back, but found out from a friend that the chap had built the bike himself. Was wondering if anyone else out there had a Benly powered bike? Cheers - Boner.

Don't say learn to ride the thing, check out my sig. So, I have Renthal bars ect, and wide foot rests , but what else will improve my TLR? Would like to sort the forks, as there, well,... c**p... they don't rebound very well, don't think there is any oil in them to be honest. , and there is certainly no Air in them ..:S But they also bottom out to easily off big steps ect. Anybody out there got an opinion on the best rear shocks for a TLR 200? Present bike has Falcons but with postage to NZ they work out a leetle expensive for me, so something that may be sourced domestically would/could be a big plus for me? Look forward to hearing from anyone. Phil
