I was at my FLD looking at the new Bonnie and said dealer mentioned that, as of next year, all motorcycles must have anti lock braking. A quick Google seemed to confirm this. Can anyone in manufacture/import say how this will affect the ability to register a trials bike or will the SSDT become "used bikes only"? Is the ACU aware of this one?

Where are the places to look with a view to buying a secondhand trials bike, either private or from a dealer? I've found eBay, Gumtree and the advert section of this site of course. I've also found a few other websites that just re-hash adverts from other sources (pretty pointless). Are there any others I should be looking at? What about dealers? I've found a few in the north of England but they're too far away, and anyway I'd rather buy a bike that hasn't spent too much time bouncing off rocks. I heard of BVM but they don't seem to have much on their website apart from new and nearly-new. I also found RCM in Cornwall but they are also a long way away, in the ot…

Regs are now out for the Mid Wales Novogar round on 23rd September 2007. This is a real hardcore trials venue - we put a few trials on the banks to give a little variety, but really it hurts to not use the streams and rivers. We've been trying to build a reputation for good honest ridable sections. The going will be tough in places, but nothing daft. Have a look at last years results to guage the severity or speak to someone who's ridden it. A good clubman who likes proper sections will love it (Expert/Inter). For those that ride the Forest Trophy Trial, you'll know the venue. For this trial though we use slightly more of it. Around 40 sections and around 25 miles of…

Howdy All, I am new to the site and new to trials. I use to be into the Motorcross scene years ago,but i got bored of flying over jumps and going round the same track so i stopped. Anyway,i use to look on at the riders who trial ride and think to myself, how do they get up them vertical cliffs, lol. Just recently i have been looking into trial riding and want to get involved. First i need the equipment though, any bikes you can recommend? Been told that GAS GAS are good for high end competition but if you are a beginner then get a Montesa or scorpa or even a beta.I have heard that there is problems with Gas Gas after a short time and there not built to last, wonder if …

Guys, I'm after a new (to me) used bike... The question is where to start looking for one? Obviously, there are the classifieds here - and of course ebay. Can you suggest any other good places to look? Thanks - Matt.

Any of you get TMX on a Thursday? Trying to get details of Clive trial this weekend (20th) to shove on our local website. It wasn't in there last week. I hear it's on, but can't get hold of venue etc. Mind you I'm hearing Wrexham Trial is cancelled, so they shouldn't be short of entries.

Hi Just received my number through for this years trial and upon reading the information sent to me it says that each day the trial starts from the daily venues which are not the start field. Does this mean that on a morning we have to drive to the start field listed in our vans instead of setting off on bikes from the start field as we did last year? Cheers Beta729

Isn't it ironic for a sport that is based on overcoming difficult obstacles and conditions, that as soon as it snows all events are cancelled. (Yes, I do know the reasons why, but I can't help the feeling that it wouldn't have happened in the "good old days" when most of us would have got there somehow, despite the lack of traction control, ABS and hour-by-hour weather forecasts.)
