I've had a few queries in recent weeks regarding the type of license that is valid for the SSDT. This seems to stem from the cost of purchasing a full FIM international license, so for the avoidance of any doubt there are only four types of license valid for the SSDT : ACU Registration Card SACU License MCUI License Full international license Unfortunately your national license from your home FMN, other than the three listed above, is not sufficient for riding the SSDT (in line with regulation 1.4 of our Supplementary Regulations), so please make sure you bring the correct license with you as you won't be able to start the trial on Monday morning without it! Any …

Received this as a news article, but it's not really appropriate for the news section of the site so: I am looking for a lift home on Monday 2 from the last group of sections in the trial - presumably Lagnaha - to South Manchester or a railway station in Lancashire from where I can catch a trian to Stockport. Obviously I'll share the cost. If you can help, please phone me asap on 07928 171429, Mike Edwards.

Due to a cock up (It's not your year is it Dennis?) a friend will need a lift back to Glasgow to be at the Airport before 9.00am on Sunday the 13th. Alternatively is anyone able to give him a lift South after the presentation on Saturday night? Please leave a message on here or PM me prior to this Saturday, alternatively get in touch with Highland Lassie or Andy during SSDT week.

Having turned seventeen years old late last May, the last twelve months have seemed like an eternity for local youth rider Jack Dignan (Beta) who is making his debut at the Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) this week in an entry that is packed with pedigree and World Championship status contenders. The teenager from Lochaber has dreamed of riding this historic and unique event ever since he was a wee lad and has longed to be a part of something that is rich in his family's blood. Jack's uncle, Kevin Dignan was a SSDT regular over a prolonged period and his father David and his other uncle Simon have also competed in The Scottish in the past too, so there was a certain inev…

Every year riders from around the world flock to Fort William in the Scottish Highlands to compete in the famous Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT). This year has seen riders travel from as far away as Japan, America, Australia and New Zealand to take on the oldest and toughest motorcycle trial in the world, and to ride for miles around the stunning Scottish countryside. But for four competitors - Kevin Dignan (number 114), Michael Fothergill (number 115), Gavin Brown (number 163) and Gary MacLennan (number 164) the action is right on their doorstep, as all are residents of Fort William or the surrounding Lochaber region. Of the 276 riders competing in the 2012 Scottish Six…

Morning campers, Was fortunate enough to be roaming the hills near Callart falls just before sunset last night and found what - for obvious reasons - I will describe as a good quality expensive item related to trials or a trials rider. So if you rode, marshalled or spectated the 2014 SSDT and lost something the day the bikes went to callart falls and can describe to me in detail what you lost I will gladly (reluctantly) arrange to have it returned to you. If not I promise to make good use of it with a clear conscience.

Hello People. My daughter has left her XC-Tinc, yellow trials jacket at the Lower Mamore section "C" today ( Saturday). We went back later in the day but it had gone. If anyone perhaps knows the where abouts of said jacket, I would appreciate it if you could let me know either through this post or give me a call on 07881 495025. I will gladly pay any postage to have it returned. Thanks.

Those of you in Scotland will be only too aware of the Suzanne Pilley murder enquiry that is ongoing at the moment. For those of you who don't know, investigations have led police to Glen Croe and the Rest And Be Thankful on the A83, to the north west of Loch Lomond. They're appealing to any SSDT enthusiasts who may have been in the area on Wednesday 5th May....our route didn't go anywhere near there, but there will have been quite a few folk on the road during the week, so if you were anywhere near that area on the Wednesday, please take a couple of minutes to check out our article on www.ssdt.org. Thanks!
