Originally a reliability trial, one point for footing (on hill sections) was introduced in 1931. Does anyone know when a contemporary scoring system was introduced and when the emphasis on reliability was dropped?

Due to a cock up (It's not your year is it Dennis?) a friend will need a lift back to Glasgow to be at the Airport before 9.00am on Sunday the 13th. Some of you will remember all my gurning last year when I cycled from Glasgow to Edinburgh for charity....well, I can't have gurned enough, because this year we've got an SSDT squad doing the same thing! It has been an 'easy' winter this year, wet and miserable rather than freezing hard - so the midges are out and about already this year. There are dozens of very expensive anti-midge sprays, etc... but they don't always meet their advertised claims. However, if you are prepared - there is another way to ward the little buggers off. Boots the chemist sell cheap bottles of their own 'Eau de Colgne' - not the fancy 4711-type stuff, just the big old cheap bottle of their own concoction - but splash a little in the palm of your hand and just rub it in any exposed bits of skin and most people will be midge-free all day - and there is a Boots in Fort William! Come on , its 21.40hrs on Saturday!.Hundreds of people in Fort William will have heard who has probably/ most likely won , yet there is no comment on this one of the World biggest Trials sites . There are rumours that world championship rider Albert Cabestany is putting in an entry for the SSDT 2010.

As any fan of the SSDT cannot fail to have noticed, the West End Car Park is going to be a little different this year to accommodate our Centenary celebrations, and here's where you can find out all about it! The changes in the car park this year are focused around the introduction of the SSDT Marquee, which will form the social heart of the SSDT this year, offering something for everyone.

I concidered making this a poll but all sorts click on the polls with no real interest in the subject. It looks like a fair few TC users are going to FW next month. How about a get together somewhere. For HLs sake it would have to be the Milton or we'd never here the end of it. Would you come, what night would be better & most importantly would you buy a round? Beware Andy never goes out in FW without his camera(s).

I may be in Fort William from Tuesday and because of the usual budget constraints and the need for a good nights sleep (4 hours sleep in 3 days last year after sharing a room with 2 very loud snorers) I will be camping; if anyone else is camping, what site will you be at ?

As you know, the deadline for paying entry fees passed last Friday. We've now had a final listing of all payments received from our bank, which means that it's time to reallocate all the unpaid places and then get the numbers organised. However, there's a couple of problems, and that's where we need a bit of help from you guys! Firstly there are a staggering 31 unpaid places - it's usual to have a lot of riders who can't make it, but normally some of them bother to let us know beforehand! Tonight and tomorrow morning will be spent phoning and emailling those riders to find out whether they've actually paid or not so that we can get their payments sorted out or their pl…
