Hey Mark! I hear that you're the brains behind the new Xispa? I'm sure it was generated straight from a computer design to be the most adv anced trials machine in the modern world.....or was just a sand cast of a sherco. Interesting development for the trials market. It appears to be such a fragile market that this could be a wooden stake , if it were proven to be a decent machine. I suspect it will go the way of the RTX, although development in technology since then, will have a positive effect on the resulting product. Good luck on the new machine! Les

Well maybe not arrested but who has not wanted to ride over a cop car. Over the weekend on Sunday Cody Webb and Colton Haaker who rode the High School class at the Nationals did a demo at a Vintage Motorcycle show. There were about 500 people at the show. Cody and Colton pleased the crowd. They rode over the car in every possible direction. Jumped at least a 6 foot gap from a spool to the car and had the crowd going. I cant say how many people came up after their shows and said how impressed they were. A few people tok our phone numbers for more info. The organizer of the show kept saying how they made the show. The last few weekends of ridin' have taken their toll on me mentally. Not only have I spent considerable time out on the loops with Ringo and Bagg, but I've had to stop a hunnerd times, removing and putting back on, my 10 year old MSR helmet. Seems EVERY time I get my rythym, something starts buzzin' around, diggin' for any wax filled orfice it can find, causing a panic stop and panic removal of said helmet. I have a 6' tall fuel drum, would like to cut into, I have a plasma cutter but wondering how to go at this? The drum was used for house fuel. I was told stand it on end, have a hole at the bottom and one at the top, which it does, and then pipe car exhaust into the drum, fill it up and It would be safe for cutting? Or should I fill it half with water, then pipe in some exhaust. Maybe I should abort the whole mission and job it out. Input would be appreciated! Thanks, sam

A few months ago cycle world ran a test of the new scorpas and Paul Dean (who used to ride trials in the seventies) added his observations of the sport over the last 30 years. Has anyone got a copy and if so is it possible to scan it in and send it to me? Much appreciated TFT

Anyone see the article on trials and scorpa 175 four stroker? Though cool to see trials represented in any national publication, I thought the article was rather boring. Taking one of the lower enduro editors and throwing him on a bike with the no name top scorpa rider (I've never heard of him) to assist isn't gonna turn heads. The setting being in Moab, Utah was alright, but still... Though I doubt any of us trials riders could really give an unbiased opinion if they hired us. Not that the writers there are unbiased or anything but errrr....

it is finally rime to get the pa trials season under way! may 6 in trout run is the first event, i never rode there but the ptr usually put on a good trials!

i will be visiting my wifes family in texas for the new years weekend and would love to do some riding. maybe the friday / saturday before heading home on sunday. we will be in the mckinney area. i've been to red river park lots of times but that appears to be about and 1 1/2 hour drive from the inlaws house. anyone know where i could ride closer to mckinney? thanks rob

Got out midmorning today,cut two new sections in at my practice area,up to 17 or 18 sections now,will be cutting many more over the winter, then unloaded the gasser for some playtime.was doing my turns well but couldn't climb the rocks worth a crap due to the wet moss on them. One of my buddies was out there breaking in his brand new KTM 300 He was following me while we scouted for places to cut new routes in our hare Scramble loop(practice area is 100 acres that belongs to a co-worker of mine) Then we took off around the loop and I think I impressed him on how fast you can actually trail ride a modern trials bike. How many trials people are motorcycle industry people? At the Expo I saw a lot of trials people, that are deep into the industry. Are you as a trials rider connected to the motorcycle industry in such a way that provides you income?

For those on the forum that were unaware, last November, Debbie Evans-Leavitt was injured in an on-the-set accident. I got Lane's permission to forward this to keep the Trials community advised on her progress: "HI Jon; Yes, she had a head on while riding a motor scooter with a car on the new Jim Carry movie. She was knocked out, broke her hand, wrist and pelvis and received a 2nd degree burn from the header pipe. That was on Nov. 9th. It was supposed to be a near miss, however the car came in much deeper than it had on the other takes and she smashed the door of the car in with her body. I'm confused. When did the United States trials scene become a circus show? Here it's mid-summer and our pros are out entertaining the crowds like a bunch of half time cheerleaders at a football game. While other nations young and old riders are competing in competitions, our top pros like Geoff Aaron, Cody Webb, Keith Wineland and Patrick Smage are hanging out in the Supermoto pits gabbing with Doug Henry about a loose throttle cable - while drooling at Michael Jordan's Suzuki in Wisconsin or hopping over police cars in California. I can see our old washed up champion's of the sport doing these shows like this, that's what they are suppose to do. But our top pros?

Stewie's got new toys to play with, Got to try both. The Vertigo is more abrupt and handles in a way that I think will reward the more physical rider. It wants to go up big things and seems really quick to want to lay over and change direction once the decision is made. The TRS is stable as a concrete block. At any point I stopped and balanced it just patiently waited until I made up my mind. It also has a lovely soft grunt to it. For me the TRS would be the bike of choice. A friend who rides expert and likes BIG hits went up to try both. Intent on the TRS he ended up ordering the Vertigo. Both are pretty impressive first efforts though it's obvious the TRS ta…
