I'm about to buy a new used trials bike here in California. But I'm confused about the registration. I know that all 2002 year and older bikes are automatically green stickered. But all 2003 year and newer go by different rules. California DMV rule is simple and fairly straight forward on this matter. "Red stickers are issued to 2003 year model and newer OHVs that are not certified to California OHV emission standards. If your OHV has a "3" or "C" in the eighth position of the vehicle identification number (VIN) then your vehicle will be issued a red sticker. Red stickers are issued to OHVs that can use California OHV riding areas for seasonal use only." From what I …

The team has been chosen, Pat, Cody, Will and Keith! Top kids all! There is a missing name, Chris! Florin, that is! I am not sure just exactly how many TDN trips he has made, but a lot! His experience will be missed, he is a top notch guy! As when Geoff retired, I was hoping we would see more coaching and minding from the guys with more experience! Guess not! Chris Florin has been a tribute to the American effort over the years, and I just wanted to make note ! He can be proud! My typing finger is tired now!

What are your opinions on one or two day trials events? With gas prices the way that they are, would two day local events make sense, especially for the people that may have to drive five hours or more?

Trials guys turn it on. Night Show Main Event. 1st (Taddy) 2nd (Aaron) 6th (Colton) 11th (Smage) Phillip was third in the final corner of the big main and got hung up on the massive rock pile for about 10 seconds. That's how far he slipped for one boo-boo. Other photos. Geoff on the podium. Taddy crossing the finish line. And Phillip, Amber, Mich Lin and myself after the event. Big shout out to Lane Leavitt for all his support this weekend with Team Smage! Lane, I know you lurk, big guy. You are the best! Your three rules work. We had fun. We learned something. We earned championship points. And money!

The time has come! Cityboy trials has gone and shot off his mouth again and now there is no recourse other than to put money where mouth is. Craig, in all his infinite wisdom, has called me out. He has actually challenged me to my face saying that he will beat me next year at Endurocross. Who is going to be the bookie on this one??? Craig, I've got $1000 that says I will finish ahead of you. That's right, one thousand United States dollars. Everyone out there that knows me, knows that I do what I say so it's time to show the money otherwise I will graciously accept your appology......again..... and we'll move on.

While Phillip and I are out in Las Vegas with the likes of Huffman, Lafferty, Aaron, Abbott, Davis and Pearson, Dietrich, Brozovich, Wineland, Haaker, Redmond and Blazusiak for the opening round of the AMA National Endurocross series this weekend - Noel, Max and Patrick will be heading down to the Trials Training Center for the AMA National US Indoor. (Word is, Pat just may ride????) - (My word is, if he's able to ride, his butt should be in the Czech Republic!) But that's another story. Back to the topic. Whatever you and your family does, or go's this weekend, Team Smage wishes you a Happy and Safe 4th of July Weekend.

Yea, you got it, remember that? To tell you the truth, I could not do it then and I cannot do it now, but we did cruise along so many years at 60, that when things changed, 70 seemed REALLY fast for a cruise speed on the interstate. And even today, a cruies speed ov 70 on some two lane blacktops can be Really exciting! If you snooze, you may loose, bigtime! 1750 rpm yields a wopping 62 mph in the big Dodge TD! Seems lately I travel light, bike in back with minimal gear. No trailer! 23mpg! Kick it up to say 68, it will cost you a mpg or TWO, cost another at 72mph, cost another at 75!!! Makes you think, when diesel is near $5 per gallon! On the other hand, seems many o…

Just a note to say if you hear someone with a strange accent at a trial in the second half of the year at a trial, it might be me. We are flying into LA on the 4th of July and intend to purchase an RV and drive up the West Coast, then across Canada then back down the East Coast then work our way back to LA. We will be staying until late January 09. I hope to drop into a couple of Trials if I can organize it. If anyone is aware of a good place to purchase an RV in the LA area, or a place to avoid I would appreciate any advice.

Looking back the last couple of years there is hardly any talk any moreabout trials. Very little about upcoming events nationals ect Trials comp is gone Mctrials is dead and this forum seems to have the political crap and bull that Lane used to put out without a lot of trials imput. Im not against tring to be funny but what happened to talking about trials. Next question do trials forums help the sport or hurt it? If it hurts it what can be done to change that?

In many ways Trials could be considered a marketable product, that could be why the NATC does an annual rider poll/survey,possibly to improve the brand and gain marketshare. The trouble is they only compare themselves to themselves, which is an admittance to being the only game in town for anyone interested in an AMA series championship placing. Also having the survey after the season is over means any possible improvement is a long wait off. I propose a poll to compare the Natc product to what else is available. So far this season I have been at 3 different major events in the USA. 1st was the Sooner Cup in OK. next the WTC at TTC and then the first 3 rounds of Natc at …
