I found a nice piccie of Pat from last week and thought I would put it up. Does no justice to the height of the rock he is hopping off! As he is about to depart for the world trials scene as our US hopeful in the Youth, all I can say is that noone has worked harder for us. Pat deserves as much support as we can offer, as much of this effort is self(or family) supported. RYP is still accepting World Trials donations for this year, as well as offering vids and such and if you can manage any help it would be greatly appreciated. I got my TDN shirt already, Pat is next(where is that tax return?) You GO boy! Anyway, maybe I will put some more pics up as I can. Thanks to al…

Well it has only rained in Southern California about three times this year, yet this morning we had a strange occurrence.......SNOW. I know this may sound stupid to the rest of the country, but a small dusting got us all exited especially the kids. This is out my son's window and my daughter on the balcony it was the first time she has seen snow. It was also a little strange as I drove them to school the sun came out and there was still a little snow falling. The kids where a little disappointed they didn't get a snow day though

No US round for "07, ok , but did TTC at least make a buck? I'm sure Dan has had a chance to count all the beans by now! Realize, this is not important to me on a personal basis, but in the interist of US trials and WTC events it is an issue! The clubs and organizations that sponsor these events cannot do so at a loss and succeed! It just does not make sense! Roumors from prior years suggest that it was all done at a loss which could not be sustained! It costs TONS to put it on, not to mention the endless hours of volunteer work! I know the spectator attendence was down on Sunday in TN, it was evident! We simply do not have the 8000 in attendence like Hawkstone! I wa…

Just curious here. I probably don't know the history as to the creation of Trials Central, but was wondering why? Did I miss something? Am I undertanding that TC is run by Andy too? Has TA got problems, or did Andy just want to get out from under someones thumb? Why two similar internet magazines that seem to be competing against each other?

The 3rd annual CAMELOT trial was this last weekend. Your's truely is trying to rename it "The Soggy Bottom Trial" Some folks are trying to get the event moved to later in the year because we could really use the rain in the dryer months. This event is held in the tropical rain forest known as Clarksville, Tn. Section 1 started early, just before you parked your vehicle or unloaded your bike. It was a slight uphill mud bog and I saw many observers lending a hand. Surprisingly the section I checked (Son of a Ditch ll?) stayed fairly consistant through out the day. I fully expected it to get worse as the day went on but it didn't. This section had a pretty go…

I was rummagin around the other day looking for some old Fantic memorabilia to go with my 240 twinshock that I'm working on, and I found a ton of old Trials Competition papers with write-ups on Nationals from the late 80's, and results sheets. I was still riding Champ class back then and, I was quite interested to see the not only the number of riders entered, but the actual points spread between 1st and 10th. First off, every event I looked at there were at least 20 rider's in the champ class. Other than the top 2 ( Scott Head and Ryan Young) the rest of the guys in the top 10 could almost be interchanged from event to event! These were all impressive rider's too! Mcnea…

My stomping ground.... I got a nice 2004 Sherco 2.9 earlier this year, have about 4-5 tanks of gas through it. Been riding some of the old stomping grounds I used to hit when I was a kid. More fun on a trials bike for sure, starting to get into decent bike shape. Anyway it been fun learning all I can thought I'd share a few pics of where I ride. I am lucky to be able to ride right from home my parents have some land in the country and all the old trails I rode as a kid are still right where they used to be This section goes on like this for a very long time, LOTS of gnarly sections like this to try and get over. I basically try to go slowly and get over as mu…

One of my buddies here just recently brought up something in another forum topic regarding this issue. The requirement of these things by certain governments sort of boggles my mind! In my mind, these little screens are worthless little expensive pieses of junk, thankfully they are not required here! I am just not sure I am 100 percent comfortable with this logic, as even though my memory is short, I cannot recall any sparks being SPEWN FURTH by any bikes! I have seen FLAMES from the exhaust of some 4T bikes, not in trials, but never anything I can recall from a sooty 2T but smoke, and the little screens certainly will not prevent flames! Same in a backfire situation…

http://www.fs.fed.us/recreation/programs/ohv/OHV_SAG2007.pdf That's a US Forest Service off-highway vehicle guide to spark arrestors. This appears to be what the employees will use when evaluating a spark arrestor to see if it meets standards. Oddly enough, they fail to list "Bultaco", though my 1976 Sherpa T does appear to have the appropriate stampings in the OEM exhaust. http://www.gsa.gov/gsa/cm_attachments/GSA_...RDZ-i34K-pR.pdf is the document (USFS 5100-1c) establishing the USFS standards There's some interesting technical information, a list of manufacturers, and it might come in handy should you need to have a polite discussion with someone on why your veh…

Split this off from the main US GP topic as it's not really on-topic. One thing I will say about you guys is I've never seen a more enthusiastic crowd. The cheering ALL riders, regardless of nationality really helps create a great atmosphere. It was the same in 2006 and in Duluth in 2005. It's not like that anywhere else - and boy, do you lot love Fujigas! BTW, anybody here get one of his gloves?
