Where is the best place to stay for the world round? It looks like things close to the TTC are full. Where in Chattanooga is a good place to stay? Or is there someplace else close that would have decent rooms. Thanks for the help

So, my question of the day to those of you with kids, please ask them, Who is the World Champ in Trials? Do they Care? I know my son has no idea, and could honestly care less, then again, he had a choice between going fishing yesterday on the big lake and running around in a bass boat and going riding and he went fishing. I have to e-mail my daughter to ask her if she knows, but, I better check myself becuase I am not positive.. To those of you that have no kids, Does who is world champ influence your trials riding at all? Would it / does it, influence what brand of bike you ride?

If you watched the Nitro Circus on MTV the great Lane was on there helping Travis Pastrana and his crew with stunts. All this time I thought he was full of it. But he was there in the flesh. He didnt get much talking in but helped with stunts. This show has been my favorite. Travis and his crew do a show kind of like Jack Ass. The USA page sure has gotten boring lately. Maybe I should apologize to the Ice Girl or something. Anybody out there. Did Copey and Craig lose their computer privlages.

I see that the West Youth Nationals are in the books for 2005. Congratulations to all those who rode and thanks to all those involved in putting them on. I have a question though. I am unfamiliar with the young man who won the Open Class out West. How old is he? May I assume he doesn't ride the Nationals, since I haven't heard the name? Also, is there someone reading this post who is familiar with both he and the East Open Champion, Will Ibsen. How do they compare skill wise? Just curious.

People always rag on Lane but can anyone explain to me why no Americans can even remotely compete on the World Championship level? We have 280 million people, vast wealth, huge landmass, and at least some intelligent people. Nonetheless, our best rider chooses not to compete on this level for whatever reason. Our young people don't aspire to become World Champions. I can find no reason that we should not dominate on the world stage like we do in MX. Maybe instead of demeaning Lane we should examine some of his thoughts as to why this is! He may be like chewing on tinfoil for some of you but he may have a point or two worth examining. I hope it isn't the NASCAR mentali…

Not sure I want to ask why, or maybe more appropriately what brought you too the sport. This is a spinoff question from another post where another gentleman said that he and several others started riding becuase of the WR. I have honestly never met anyone that started riding becuase of a WR, much less kept riding, everyone I know rides to be with their buds and have a good time. Or in my case, to try and beat Doug, which I have not been to successful at this past year. So anyway, Why did you start, or maybe what was the kicker that started you riding (Trials)? Why do you continue to ride? And maybe the follow on question, what would get more people riding trials?

No one in the US makes a living competing so why are they called Pro? If you ride that class don't you feel embarrassed calling yourself a Pro? If you have ambitions to make that class and once you do, you still need a regular job or parent's money to support your riding.

Bill Smage was kind enough to send me over 90 photos he took at August's Duluth National. He takes lots of photos, often of non-Pro riders, so if you rode Duluth look through them all and see if he got any of you. You can view them all at this smugmug gallery, but here are a few of my favorites. Thanks for sharing Bill! Click here for the full gallery.
