Youth Trials

  1. Started by jonty,

Just had entry for Cheadle A&B round on March 5th returned with letter saying the event is cancelled due to lack of entries. With 10 days to go before the advertised entry closure this seems a bit premature surely.

  3. A question to all you parents out there. My 13yr old daughter is showing an interest in learning to ride a bike and getting into trials, but as she has never riden any kind of motorcycle before I am not sure what best to start her on. Although she is tall, she is not very heavy or strong, so I guess lighter and easy to start is important. main thoughts / questions: 1) Clearly one of the auto clutch bikes would be much easier for her to learn on, but are they too small for a tall 13yr old, and would she out grow it too quick? - which are the best auto options for her size and lack of skill? 2) Are TY80's already too small for a 13yr old, or too restricted in what they…

Started to have an issue with my son's Beta EVO 80 and the fuel tap not always turning out fully. Just wondered if anyone has managed to fit a better fuel tap? Cheers

Rumours about a A class rider changing make this weekend. Richard Sadler is Entered along with the "usual" suspects and Joanne Coles will be riding fresh from Her Ladies world podium. A class is down to 16 riders but a healthier turnout in the B class.

Hi First post.... We have a Beta 50 2002 mini trial rev and go, now has new clutch with new springs but will not tick over at low revs, (same with old clutch) stalls constantly when revs drop, or we turn tick over up high and bike gets to hot. I guess this is due to lack of flywheel on mx engine. Any fixes /advice please, my son is fed up stalling in sections, and I am fed up starting it!

Looks like unless somebody steps in that the Bracken Rocks Event will be the only remaining round of the A/B Championship. I have to say that other clubs have managed to relocate the nationals due to the F&M problems and I would have hoped that a replacement could be found. As for the C&D could not Mansfield relocate and run the Trial the day before the A/B???

  15. Started by as iow,

I think everyone who took part in last weekends Kent British youth championships should post thanks to the KYTC for a fantastic weekend, and one of the best trials of the year. Given the short time they had to reorganise the event i think everyone involved did a fantastic job. The time was tight on Saturday but that did't alter the fact that we had 20 brilliant sections to ride, thanks again to everyone at KYTC.

  16. Started by as iow,

A big thanks to Barry, Ian and all the Y.M.S.A. team for organising this years trial, having been involved in organising the IOW indoor i know how much work you must all put in, and i take my hat off to you. As well as the trial, Sunday nights entertanment was fun and the kids loved it, thanks again and well done.

  18. Started by andat,

I don't know if its just me, but have I read the new rules correctly for A&B British Championship Classes this year: A & B ride the same route (Route A) and A class (and presumably B class too) who want to ride less severe sections ride Route 'B' on a no points basis. Seems to be a good idea to boost entries but IMHO the ACU have missed a trick by not making the 'B' route a sub-championship like the adults have. Just my opinion...

  20. Started by as iow,

Today i got up at 2.30am, got the 3.30 am ferry to the mainland, drove 250 miles to JST at Buxton arriving at 7.55 am to pick up new GG125. Left at 9.20am drove 250 miles back to catch 1pm ferry home, and arrived at 2.30pm. While i did some last min Xmas shopping AGIOW put the new bike together and it's now up and running ready for a steady Boxing day trial. Tonight and tomorrow i'am on call for any breakdowns for our garage, i don't know if i'am mad, bad, or just sad, all i know its that i feel a bit knackard right now. All for the love of trials …
